This is a nice little bakery/eatery. We had a couple breakfast sandwiches and a chocolate croissant.

Weak coffee and they don’t heat up chocolate croissants. So enjoy your hard candy bar wrapped in bread. Gross.

Great food. My wife had the BLT and I just had a cheese danish and both were great. They are pretty quick at making the food too.

3 stars are for the food. Love their clam chowder, sandwiches, pastries and such but I can do without the nonexistent service. I won’t say the workers are rude but they’re sure as heck not nice. I work around the area so I come here often and not once have I gotten good service, once in a while I’ll get a happy worker but for the most part they all seem to hate being there. Also, on multiple occasions I’ve had to wait a ridiculous amount of time for my food. 20 minutes to make a sandwich?! 15 minutes to pour soup into a cup and give it to me?! Buuut I keep coming back, can’t hate on their delicious clam chowder, mmmm.

All things being equal. Response when asked if they had sugar free syrups available to add to my triple shot Americano: «There is Equal over there.» Passed on the Equal. Turns out it wasn’t really needed. Special roast of Peerless coffee was surprisingly smooth enough on it’s own(plus nonfat milk) and just $ 2.75. Four stars had it not come from a machine that did all the work.

Bagels here are amazing! Not doughy or thick. Very light and fluffy!

Breakfast is divine. We ate their twice. The breakfast smoked ham, egg and cheese on an English muffin was delicious. The muffin and foccacia bread were the best I’ve ever tasted. The service was exceptional and the atmosphere was relaxing. It is in a great location right next to several hotels and only a block away from the wharf. Make this a definite stop in your visit. You won’t be disappointed.

Place is pretty nice reminds me of a panera bread but with better food. I had the clam chowder and it was pretty standard. Prices were pretty decent here, sandwiches looked really good.

Nice location… food was«ok». Staff was fast and place was pretty packed. The best part about this place was the pricing. We looked at several menus for a quick bite in the am and this place had the best pricing on the sandwiches. Don’t expect anything amazing and you won’t be disappointed. Also, they have free wifi. The password may have changed but when we were there it was BREADMAN.

Really great sandwiches and a really good deal. No tourist pricing here. It is a block off the beaten path and totally worth the walk. The breads are amazing! Free WiFi

Decent staff and reasonable pricing for Wharf area, but somewhat«canned» menu options, especially for vegetarians. Not high quality food here, but it will get you something to eat in a pinch. They do open early(6am), and they do have wifi if you ask for the password.

i was staying in a hotel on fisherman’s wharf and came across the anderson bakery while searching for some breakfast. the first perk was that it was open at 6 am(most places around seemed to open at 7), and then i was sold as soon as i walked in and smelled the fresh baked bread. the menu is basic, with breakfast sandwiches, salads, and soups, in addition to the fresh baked breads and pastries. i am a little picky about my breakfast so i asked the woman behind the counter if i could«create my own» and she was happy to accommodate. i got an english muffin with the scrambled eggs(egg white was not an option), and added lettuce, tomato, cucumbers, and sprouts. this was not too far off the original, which came with cheese and tomato. the sandwich was hand-delivered to my table a few minutes later. the english muffin had a heavy cornmeal dusting, but the inside was chewy, soft, and fresh. the vegetables were very fresh, although i was slightly disappointed that the sprouts were not included(i barely noticed, since the sandwich was very good). the eggs were a pre-made shaped patty, but still tasted much better than the fast food versions, and the texture was good the whole way through. the sandwich and coffee were also only about $ 6. i would love to go back for lunch to try a sandwich on the delicious looking breads, and i am sure i will be back for another egg sandwich. i may another variety, such as the smoked salmon or the bacon.

My wife and I got a mini-lunch from this place. I’m giving it five stars because it provides a nice contrast to the rest of the wharf area: * The prices are reasonable. Ok that might sound shallow, but when you’re looking at $ 12 chowder at blue mermaid, $ 10 sundaes at Ghirardelli, and the countless $ 30+ rip-offs at anything else serving food from the mar, you start to think about your wallet. * The place is nice and quiet. We arrived around 11:30am on a Sunday and the place was nearly empty. Which isn’t good for their business, but it beats fighting with angry families at a table.(Unless you like to fight. Then, food isn’t your problem.) * The food is good! Here’s what we had: — Cesar salad — Strawberry pastry — Cup of chowder — 2 drinks …all for less than $ 15. Good for a touristy area!

Excellent addition to the neighborhood. Has a spacious outdoor seating area that is offset and shielded from the street noise and traffic. They did an amazing job redesigning use of this space. It’s such a pleasant reuse of bottom floor of this office building. I live up the street and was pleasantly surprised when I happened by and saw this café open. Walked in and from the window-washing worker to the manager, my interactions with them were uncommonly warmly professional and kind. The one employee was considerate about our dogs left outside the door and the manager just had it all together. She patiently answered our questions about the company and she was fantastically welcoming in her demeanor. We had just eaten but we got a Danish to snack on later. When we returned home we enjoyed it. Everything looks clean and well kept in the café. I will be back and become a regular. The sandwiches on the menu look tasty and pricing is excellent. This will be my neighborhood go-to now.

Happy to see an Andersen right near my work place! Great prices for yummy bakery goods, sandwiches, and soup! the place is very cleanly built, and I noticed they add more cheese to their assorted cheese breads than other Andersen bakeries. I will definitely be a regular here.
