Terrible service and low to mediocre food. I, was like most people, waiting for my flight and unfortunately happened to wander into this restaurant. I wanted to sit at the bar because they had the Warriors game on however I was rudely told that the seats were only for people ordering alcohol. Annoying. I really wanted to watch the game so I reluctantly left the bar to sit about 4 feet back. The cashier never looked at me once and continued to have a conversation with his coworkers the entire time. He didn’t ask me for my payment, he just put out his hand. Listen, no one has high expectations at these kind of places but we have a lot of time to kill and we’ve purchased international tickets to go somewhere so we aren’t bums! I ordered a lemonade and chips and salsa for $ 8.59, ridiculous. The apathy here is pathetic. If you didn’t have sports games on, you would have no patrons, please be nice.

Everything is very fresh here. A bit on the spicy side even just the salad dressing. Really tasty if you like spicy though. They don’t have table service which we didn’t realize and they came over to tell us to leave if we were going to buy some food.

Average Tex-Mex fast food. The place is quite dirty … You can easily see behind the counter where all the preparation happens and it is filthy! Tables and eating area is very dirty as well.

I ordered one of their veggie burritos which is supposed to have grilled vegetables and guacamole among other things. When i got my burrito all that was in it was rice, beans and a teeny tiny bit of salsa. No guac, no cheese, no grilled vegetables, and barely any salsa. It was also supposed to come with mixed greens and chips, but guess what? Neither of those items seemed to make it in the«to-go» container. Pretty disappointing to pay like $ 13 for just rice & beans.

I find your lack of limes disturbing. The food is good Mexican, priced high. Their price includes often premium proteins and having a captive airport audience. The food items tend to be cooked in batches and then assembled on purchase. It’s your luck of the draw whether you arrive soon or long after the last batch of chicken or whatever was cooked. I’ve ordered burritos, carnitas, chile verde, and tacos here. I’ve tried the soup, chips, pico de gallo, guacamole, and flautas(when they had them long ago). I enjoy Andale’s dishes, but I wish some of the food was cooked nearer to when it’s ordered. This last visit, I requested some limes to garnish my carnitas, but it didn’t seem like limes were a standard stocked item. What?! No limes with my Mexican food? Very confusing considering my impression of Andale’s authenticity. I think maybe this location over actively manages their costs? They’re a bit stingy on how many napkins they give out, too. Overall, Andale is a solid international terminal option. It’s good Mexican when fresh, and gets little by little worse if not fresh. Good luck!!! A refocusing on food quality would easily bump them up to four stars.

Such a hidden gem! I don’t understand why this place has mixed reviews. Andale is a very low key Mexican restaurant where you can grab a quick bite to eat before your flight. Everything is moderately priced — but they use grass fed beef, organic greens, etc. For $ 11.50 I got a huge chicken burrito(delicious) that came with chips and a great salad with fresh goat cheese. There is also a salsa bar. Definitely unexpected! The service is also some of the best I have encountered at an airport restaurant. The employees are so incredibly friendly and helpful and they do a great job of moving the line and clearing up empty plates. The food and the employees make this place worth coming to. Quality food at great portions!

Food was terrible, pork was stringy and the shrimp was old, the place could not have been more busy in the middle of the lunch rush and the could not have tasted less fresh. Like $ 11.50 Taco Bell burrito and not in a good way. Chips are terrible. Avoid this place.

I used to like this place. I just ordered a breakfast burrito with bacon… after I was about 2⁄3 finished eating it I realized the bacon was basically raw. It looked like they cooked the bacon from raw by scrambling it with the eggs. Hopefully I don’t get sick! I fly through here often, and won’t be eating here anymore. This is not my first bad experience here either, I was just giving it another shot.

This restaurant is pretty ok. When I walked in I asked for burrito with no onion. The server said the salsa has some onions. I said that’s ok. When burrito came it had sauce all over it and guacamole on top of it. There were so many onions inside I couldn’t eat it. I had to cut it open and pick out some beans and chicken. Unfortunately the burrito is so big it covered the guacamole completely and I couldn’t get it out. There was no cheese. The burrito itself was very hard to eat with way too many onions and you can’t take it to go because you need silverware to eat it! Geez!!! The point of a burrito is to eat it on the go. When we got there bartender was taking a break for 15 – 20 min. That was strange. I ordered Bloody Mary. It was ok. It’s missing something.

Pretty cool for an airport restaurant. Mexican inspired dishes that’s made«in front of you». Freshly squeezed orange juice(machine right in your face) for morning travelers. The location is large so most of the time you can get a table and they also have open fridge that has pre-made sandwiches you can grab and go.

Damn… really? Came by to get a simple drink before my flight and the novice behind the bar thought it’d be okay to try and get by without basic bartending tools. Ordered a gimlet that was to be served up in a martini glass as described on the menu. Instead, the lady made it on the rocks and then literally proceeded to try and use a fork to separate the ice cubes and drink into a martini glass. It was painful watching the struggle and hearing the silly explanation afterward. The drink was ultimately passable, though undoubtedly a waste of $ 12. If the previous bartender took the shaker and strainer with them… go and get a replacement set! Honestly, was she just hoping everyone would order beer for the rest of her shift? Common sense: deficient.

This was the best average burrito I ever had… Confused? Me to. let’s be honest folks, there isn’t a situation in the world where you’re going to get cheap, fresh, delicious food in an airport — unless you’re in a VIP lounge. People eat for 2 reasons in the airport, 1) They’re bored, in which case anything will really do, and 2) you didn’t get to eat before getting to the airport so you’ve either got to grin an bare it OR go hours until food service starts on your flight. For all the Andale isn’t, what it is is affordable comfort food prior to getting on the 5+ hour flight from SFO to YYZ(Toronto). It’s become a standard part of my trip home from SF. It’s like ritual now… if I have Andale, I’ll have a smooth flight and sleep for most of the ride home(until I get gaseous somewhere over Colorado and cut help our arrival time by adding to the tail wind). My go to is the chipotle chicken burrito, it’s good, but when busy, expect that shit to be slapped together faster than a Subway sub. I thought they were being creative with their plating décor… nope, just burrito shrapnel adorning my plate that was tossed in a hurry. It’s cool though Andale. you’re A-OK(average and totally acceptable) and I respect that. Just keep it consistent and I’ll credit your beans for helping my plane arrive in Toronto early or on time each trip. Eatcrest out! PS — LOL to the Unilocal questions below that ask if this place has a coat check. I know it’s standard but it’s still funny to think about ;)

Pitted against the options in Terminal 2 or Terminal 3, I would give this a 1 or 2 star rating, but given that this is the best of the worst in the International Terminal, this gets bumped up to a 3. Your options inside of this terminal are Andale, Japanese, Greek, and Italian — most of which have sad-looking salads, or sandwiches that look like they’ve been sitting there for days. I’ve had a variety of things from here before: Breakfast: Orange juice, breakfast burrito — all okay: edible, nothing to write home about. The orange juice is freshly squeezed, which is nice, but will cost you an arm and a leg(like everything else in the airport) Pre-Packaged Salads: Fine, nothing like salads at Terminal 2(The Plant Organic) or in Terminal 3, but decent if you’re looking for a healthy option. You can get a Tostada Salad, a grilled chicken salad, and 2 other varieties — all with romaine lettuce and other dry ingredients. Edible, but decent as a grab-and-go option. Hot/Cooked Food: Since I had a bunch of extra time thanks to a flight delay, I got a warm meal before a 14 hour flight, which was actually good. I got the fajitas combo(steak, chicken, shrimp). They definitely go heavy on the grilled vegetables, but the grilled onions and bell peppers were delicious. You will get 2 – 3 strips of steak, 2 – 3 strips of chicken and 2 – 3 pieces of shrimp. It’s topped off with pico de gallo and guacamole. I thought for $ 12, this was a decent amount of food(more than a $ 10 salad will fill you up), so if you have extra time and/or a long flight, this is a good option. The service is horrendous each time — they have one cashier, a line that is usually long, and the cashier is slow as molasses. If you’re in a hurry, definitely grab something prepared, but expect to wait in like for 5 – 10 min if there is a line, because it is definitely not efficient. All in all, I’ll keep coming back here only because it’s the best option in the International Terminal. At least you can come and sit down for a little bit and have a warm meal before a long flight!

I got the huevos rancheros, it was definitely a rip off as far as price, but most airport food is(I guess). It came with two medium tortillas two eggs Sunnyside up, beans salsa. It was good enough because I was hungry, wish there was more. My sister went with the burrito. My advise is skip the huevos rancheros and go with the burrito.

Came here before a flight. It’s pretty much on par with most of the airport food. Carnitas Torta(4⁄5) — Pretty tasty. The avocado was nice, and the meat was well cooked with good flavor. Fish Tacos(2.5÷5) — This was a bit hard to eat because it was falling apart, but still okay. Also, there was way too much sauce and cabbage on top.

After finding out our flight was delayed(and then further delayed) we decided to grab an appetizer and a drink while we waited. Being from Austin where we have an abundant amount of Mexican cuisine Andale initially was not our first choice. After perusing the airport for a good spot we decided to give Andale a try and I am glad we did. We sat at the bar and found the place clean with hospitable service. I was pleased to see a great CA wine selection and notably they only serve CA wines. I opted for a Sauvignon Blanc from Provence Vineyard(Rutherford) and Jesse and I shared an order of pico de gallo, guacamole and chips. The pico de gallo was fresh with lots of cilantro and we couldn’t get enough of that creamy avocado! They claim on them menu — They source from California-grown produce whenever possible. — The food is always fresh and never canned. — The chicken and eggs are both hormone and antibiotic-free. — Seafood is sustainable. — Beef is USDA select.

Crazy-decent for airport food. Worth eating if you’re 1. eating in the airport(most of the time, ew), 2. wanting Mexican food, read: just need that pre-plane burrito, 3. need something quick to grab and go, 4. want something that actually tastes good. Dined here during a 2.5 hour layover at the SFO airport and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. I’ve been to the«real» Andale restaurants in Los Gatos and this was definitely just as good, and made with just as fresh ingredients. I do love that they’re in the SFO airport– love the local variety there. Anyway, the burrito was awesome, and you can pick from a help-your-self salsa bar, just like in the Los Gatos restaurants.

Andale is one of a handful of restaurants past the security check in SFO International terminal available for early breakfast. The domestic terminals seem to have more and better options. We had a morning flight so we chose from their breakfast menu. Both the Mexican omelet and Mexican scrambled egg dishes were executed well — good seasoning, just enough sauce, and good balance of veggies and meat(chorizo or jamon). Even the refried beans were creamy and decent. The roasted potatoes on the other hand, a bit on the gooey side and lacked that roasted, seared exterior. Next time it may be better to dine in the area before security, or maybe wait an hour later for Tomkazu to open.

Four stars for food but only two for service. I stopped her for dinner in between flights and ordered their captains burrito. It naturally comes with chicken and also comes with garlic shrimp on top. At first I asked for this without the shrimp because I don’t do garlic but the lady said they could make it without that. I said I couldn’t do spicy, so no garlic, no sauce, just plain shrimp. Well, the shrimp came out smothered in a salsa. I pointed this out and the lady got surly with me, saying I had only said no garlic and there wasn’t any garlic. I explained my side of the story and she told the kitchen to redo my order but I also heard her complaining to them about me and how I’d ordered it just no garlic. Even my husband heard me say no sauce but whatever. The final meal I got had tender, buttery shrimp and a tasty burrito, but I probably won’t come back knowing the staff is so difficult. :(
