We frequented ATG over the past few years and used to love it. Unfortunately, there has been a steady decline in the quality and taste of food. Last visit sealed the deal, something has gone awry with the food preparation there. We ordered the shrimp skewer over garlic noodles, and the veggies over noodles. The veggies were overcooked and also soggy — black wilted broccoli, and soggy noodles. My friend’s shrimp had an «off» flavor, and more wilted noodles. This is the second bad meal there in row, so we’re off the Grid, and off ATG.

I love garlic noodles, and while it hurts to write this review because the folks in the food truck are super nice, the price is just not equivalent to what you get in your meal. Don’t get me wrong. It’s definitely a hefty box. However, the ratio of non-noodles to noodles is disappointing. I only had a couple of pieces of meat, some veggies, and basically the rest was garlic noodles. Yeah, garlic noodles are great, I get it, but holy moly, there is a time when one has to stop and think, «My God. This is… a LOT of garlic noodles.» The noodles themselves were tasty, but again, it’s the price point that’s off-putting. There are other places where you can get the same weight of food but with a better distribution of non-noodles. I’d rather go to a different truck and feel less full in exchange for more flavor and variety in my box.

I discovered An the Go at Sunday’s Food Truck fiesta @ Marin Mart. I was really hungry and only had 10 bucks in my wallet. Most of the other food trucks offered meals in the over $ 10 price range(when did food trucks start getting so damn expensive?!). Fortunately, An the Go had a garlic noodle dish that comes with a lemongrass chicken skewer for just 9 bucks. It totally hit the spot. The chicken breast was freshly cooked and served on top of a generous portion of garlic noodles with parmesan cheese. These garlic noodles are certainly worth a return visit. And yes, folks… they are VERY garlic-y(like a 9 on a scale of 1 – 10)! So I wouldn’t recommend eating them if you’ve got a hot date later that day). All in all, An the Go was a delightful Sunday afternoon discovery. I’ll be back!

Alright so I tried this place again and got the Lemongrass Chicken skewer with the noodles. Again, not the most flavorful, but the chicken was really tender and had a nice little punch of citrus flavor. The noodles are definitely oily so if you’re not into that, then this place probably isn’t for you. However, if you’re okay with that and you really love garlic noodles, then this place is perfect for you. $ 9 for a HUGE portion of noodles that will last you two meals is a great deal in my book! They seem to have added a new combo option where you get the noodles, 2 skewers, and one of their side dishes for $ 14. Pricey yes, but I’m sure the portion is worth it.

For $ 9+tax(original combo), I got exactly 4 shrimps, plain garlic noodles and nothing else — it even looks sad when you open the box. I also feel quite bad physically after eating it, and now am sipping green tea to recover. You can definitely find something tastier and healthier for the same price.

Ordered the garlic noodle w/Lemongrass chicken skewer and a side of Yuzu shrimp skewer. It’s $ 9 for garlic noodle and one skewer. You can pick from Lemongrass chicken, yuzu shrimp, five-spice pork, vegetable stir-fry or lemongrass beef. $ 14 gives you garlic noodle, pick two skewers, and either the Vietnamese-crispy roll w/dipping sauce or the Dungeness crab prude w/peanut-mustard sauce. If you prefer to add extra skewers, it’s $ 2.50. Definitely check it out if you’re a fan of garlic noodles.

I opened Unilocal right after I opened my lunch box to make sure it wasn’t just bad luck. A box full of noodles and exactly four pieces of shrimp. And that $ 9+ And that point the taste didn’t matter, though it tasted good.

Writing this with mixed feelings since I try to be supportive of small businesses. This was my first time visiting An The Go and the review is for the 5-spice pork skewer with garlic noodles. Positives — friendly staff. Cons — quality of food was not bad, but the ratio of a full container of garlic noodles to 1 skewer of meat for $ 9 felt off. A small side of greens, garnish, anything besides a sea of noodles in the container would have made the moment of opening the container less disappointing…

An the No is more like it. As a lot of other reviewers mentioned, An the Go food truck’s garlic noodles to protein ratio is off. There’s too many noodles and not enough protein. The garlic noodles were too mushy and didn’t have a strong garlicky aroma. The lemongrass beef skewer was a bit dry, but decent, and it had very thinly sliced meat. The yuzu shrimp skewer, which had decent-sized shrimp, smelled a little off(strongly fishy) and wasn’t very flavorful either. If An the Go is a representation of Thanh Long’s quality, then I’d avoid Thanh Long at all costs.

I should’ve read some reviews before trying this truck. Found An The Go at Off the Grind in Palo Alto. Feeling hungry, I got their $ 14 garlic noodle combo with 5 spice pork, yuzu shrimp and crab puffs. Like others have said, the crab puffs were extremely disappointing, tiny, and just not tasty. Opening the container that held the noodles was another disappointment; it’s like looking into a desert. The noodles were plain looking, with no dressing besides some garlic bits. The desert came with a slab of pork and 3 pieces of shrimp, each being just OK. The noodles were too garlicy and lacked any other flavor. I don’t give out 1 stars often, but in my opinion because of the price, portions, and tastes, An The Go deserves it.

5÷11÷15: First time this truck showed up at work. I probably don’t have much to add beyond what the ~300 other reviewers said before me, you know, way too expensive, sides(and meat) are tiny, noodles are good. But well, here it is from me: 1. «$ 14 Garlic Noodle Combo» $ 14: So, here the price is part of the item name, if that foretells anything. There is a $ 9 combo. So, you either go with rich people price or if you aren’t feeling like shelling that kind of money for a plate of noodles, you got an option of nearly ½ off the price for maybe 1⁄5th less food… k… so how is it 40% less for just a bit less food? Cause the skewers were small and the side of Dungeness Crab Puffs was absolutely miniscule. So if you get one less skewer and no side, it’s not really that much less food, and not a huge loss. 1a. Garlic Noodles: Yeah, they’re good. But if you put a little bit of effort into it, I’m sure you can make the same thing at home without much trouble. Heck, I have myself. Just get fresh noodles from Ranch 99 of your choice, and cook with butter and lots of minced garlic. That’s just about it. Looks like they added some parmesan or something for texture – you can do the same if you want. When I went to Crustacean in Beverly Hills many years ago, I feel like it might have been better then(I guess this truck is owned by the same people?) The noodles this time were a tad overcooked, and could use a little more firmness. They also opened AnQi in Costa Mesa many years ago just specializing in those noodles. I’ve been to South Coast Plaza where it’s located many times, but never had the desire to pay $ 20 or whatever crazy price they were asking for a plate of simple noodles. 6⁄10. 1b. Five-Spice Pork [skewer]: You get about 3 or so decent bite-sized pieces. Has a good amount of flavor, but it tastes a bit off to me. The meat is a bit dry and overcooked, but not too badly. Nothing special here. 5⁄10. 1c. Lemongrass Beef [skewer]: Meat was good quality(skirt steak maybe?) and cooked mediumish, which I was pleased to find. Spices tasted good too. Good stuff. Also about 3 pieces. Pretty good. 7⁄10. 1d. Dungeness Crab Puffs: Utter sht. Come on. Almost false advertising. «Puffs»? I was expecting like pastries stuffed with crab. Nope. These are standard small wontons stuffed with some crab meat. They were even over-fried! – very close to simply burnt!!! I could not believe that. The stuffing was on the dry side. Yes, it’s crab, but it’s not good crab. Not juicy. No flavor. 2 pieces. Yeah, this is bad stuff. I got this as part of the combo, but PLEASE do not pay $ 6 for it standalone!!! 2⁄10. If you really want to try their good stuff, go to Crustacean – I really do like their crab. Might have been some of the best I’ve ever had(again, Beverly Hills location – not sure how that compares to up here.) If you do go, my tip is just get the crab – everything else sucked as I remember, including even lobster! And like I said, I walked by AnQi many times and said hell no. Anyway, ignoring the crab«puffs» everything else was decent tasting, but at ripoff-level prices. Still keeping it at 3⁄5(instead of 2⁄5) stars despite the pricing cause it tasted good enough(again, ignoring those crab things), and the steak probably wasn’t cheap, and given they give a lot of noodles I am rather full, so I’d probably eat this again if I didn’t have another lunch choice, and yeah this is a mega run-on sentence. #truck #noodles

Garlic noodles! I was able to try their food truck through the Sactomofo event in Sacramento. They had a bit of a line about 20 minutes, but it was worth it. I ordered the garlic noodle combo for $ 9, though I was severely tempted to get the larger combo with appetizer for $ 15. I was kind of expecting my noodles to come out oily, as it seems to happen a lot when I order garlic noodles in a lot of places but… to my surprise they were not! They actually were very tasty and I ended up liking it a lot. I also paired that up with their 5 spice pork skewer, which also tasted really good. I ended very satisfied with the food I orderied. :) Yums!

I got to try An the Go while at Off the Grid(Fort Mason) recently and thought that their food was okay — not great. I ordered their famous garlic noodles with a grilled shrimp skewer. The price wasn’t bad, I think $ 8 – 9? It was a generous portion of noodles, I actually didn’t finish them all! They had a tasty garlic flavor, but I think it was more reminiscent of garlic powder than fresh garlic. The flavor just got bland for me halfway through. It needed some veggies for crunch and freshness, I think. The shrimp skewer on the other hand was really flavorful and cooked perfectly. I wish that it had come with two! I don’t think that I’d order it again, just based off the lack of flavor. Perhaps if they added some stir fry veggies and cut back on the portion of noodles, I would entertain the idea of eating their food again.

An The Go is a great food truck. They have presence inn Marin on Sundays and a few places in the city. I was so impressed with the quality of the my noodles. They were fresh and had great chewyosity. The Garlic is king on these and the parm cheese make it unique. I loved it. I selected the Chinese 5 Spice Pork Skewer on top. Nice marriage of flaover. Many other toppings to choose from including veggie. So good. Drooling. Next time I will have a beer with it. Great portion size.

Love love love An the Go for their GARLICNOODLES! I believe the very first time we tried the food truck is back when SactoMoFo had their very first Humongus food truck event at Fremont Park in Sacramento. The long lines were horrendous that we were waiting for an hour literally for food! I did order their famous garlic noodles with several meat skewer options like pork and shrimp. My only gripe is I wish they would have a little more meat and/or veggie with the entrée. The skewers were extra in cost unless they have a combined special with both. I have also had their coconut shrimp which is deep fried BTW and quite tasty. I have also hit An the Go at a couple of other major SactoMoFo events but mainly at the Off the Grid event in San Francisco on Fridays at Fort Mason. If you haven’t ever been to that event, you are missing out! They usually have 30 plus food trucks/tents and I’ve noticed they have music lately. I think bc it’s winter season it’s not up until maybe March or April? Just check Off the Grid site. Yes, I highly recommend this food truck and if I come across them like I have in the past like Off the Grid in Alameda, SF Civic Center or in Treasure Island, I will be ordering an entrée of those TDF garlic noodles! You can bet on that! God, I could go for that right this minute! The weekend is coming up… hmmmm. LOL.

Yummy yum yum is all I can say! I had some An The Go for my first time at the On The Grid in Belmont on a Monday evening and I was so happy to see this truck! Garlic Noodles was what I was feenin for and I know they had some on this truck. I seen the menu and was very happy to see that they had a menu combo. So I went all in! I ordered the Garlic Noodles with Lemongrass Beef and the shrimp! The customer service I received was great and no complaints at all! I ordered my food and received it in less than 5 minutes. Once I got to a location where I could devour my food in peace I was in Heaven! How was the food, you are asking? Well: Garlic Noodles: it was very good and tasteful! I would definitely order them again. Lemongrass Beef: I wasn’t so pleased about, I felt that it was dry and been sitting out for a while. I wouldn’t order this again. Shrimp: Was delicious but nothing to brag about Vietnamese Roll: Was very good, they gave me a little sauce with it which was like a teaser. I would definitely ask for my dipping sauce next time. Overall, I truly enjoyed the garlic noodles and think that next time I would just stick with getting that and ONLY that! For the price of my dinner I don’t think it was worth it but it was all about the Garlic Noodles!

The concept of garlic noodles with a skewer of choice of meat, is fabulous, but their follow through on quality, needs improvement! The portion of garlic noodles, were generous, but it lacked presentation. I ordered up their Yuzu Shrimp as the skewer and that lacked umph. I felt like I was eventually eating endless amounts of garlic noodles that didn’t quite erk me to snazzy taste. The combo was 9 bucks(could have spent that on smething noteworthy, but decided to give this truck a try). They conveniently accept credit cards. Next truck!

Is there anything better than free food? Well, yes, freedom in general is pretty bitchen. But free food, IMPO, is a close second. Today 10.22, Citibank card holders got to grab a voucher in 3 different branches and indulge in 3 different tasty food truck foods! I thanked my lucky stars that I transferred my balance to a Citibank credit card(with 0% interest for 15 months, mind you) and headed out with my co-worker. Initially I just wanted my favorite Senior Sisig on California, but we hit up Post St first and An the Go was waiting outside. Dudes, I love garlic. And I love pasta, and noodles, but mainly in phở and mainly flat large noodles. Chow Mein is lost on me, I think of it as filler, and normally pass. But today, it being free and all, and the only option, save for meat /veggies, I went with the Garlic Noodles and Pork Skewer. Holy tastebuds, Batman! Buttery, garlicky, thick noodles, hot and fresh! Oh my, I think i have found a new indulgent craving. I saved half for my lunch tomorrow, and I actually just went and took a nibble(because I have no self control and the thought of those bad boys chilling in the fridge made me wonder how they taste cold. And they taste amazing.) Not sure why people be hatin’ on ATG, I had a great time, and I don’t think my opinion is biased because it just happened to be free.

Brought to you from the An Family of the popular Thanh Long restaurant is An the Go. An the Go is a their food truck which serves their oh so good garlic noodles. A year after they opened, I finally tried it at Off the Grid. One word: soggy. FOOD: I decided to go with the special for the day: softshell over garlic noodles($ 14). It’s expensive for the amount of food, but it’s typical food truck prices(combos are $ 9). The softhshell crab was nicely done with a crispy exterior. It was deep fried and coated with salt and pepper. The garlic noodles on the other hand was soggy and missing the heavy garlic taste. Bottom line: if you want good garlic noodles, head into their restaurant instead. LOCATION: Expect them at most Off the Grid gatherings throughout the week. However for their exact location, check their Facebook or Twitter pages.
