Some of the best fresh bread around, I stop here before I jump on the ferry. From sourdough, olive bread, whole wheat bread and much more. All they do is bake bread, nothing more, and they are really good at it! Many of the items I buy are organic. Later on in the afternoon, they usually sell out of most of the good items. I would therefore recommend picking up crtical items earlier to ensure you dont miss out. FYI — They offer a small cash discount.

3.5 stars I know this place is good. My first time was 5 years ago when I tried their herb slab and it was awesome. It tasted so fresh and was perfect with a nice hot cup of coffee for breakfast. This time, I was at the Ferry Building for lunch and decided that I wanted something more than just bread so I decided to get one of their sandwiches. They only have 3 types(all $ 6.19 each), but by the time I got there, they only had 1 type left, which was the beet sandwich. I have to say as much as I like beets, I didn’t really enjoy this sandwich. Its paired with chevre cheese, which I now realize I’m not a big fan of because the flavor is quite strong. The bread was a bit harder than I expected too. What I really wanted to try was their cheese sandwich so make sure to get there early. The sandwiches are probably fresher earlier too. It wasn’t even 1pm when I got there. Next time I’m at the Ferry Building, I’ll probably just stick with the bread and grab some cheese next door at Cowgirl Creamery. The sandwiches are a convenient option because they’ve essentially done that for you, but sometimes being able to choose the type of bread and cheese you want is better.

Darling A, I know it has been a while since we were last together. As much as it pains me, I felt that I had no choice. It’s always the same w you carb types. No matter how hard I try, you always succeed in rendering me helpless against your very strong seductive powers. I get weak. It doesn’t matter what fragrance you wear… sweet, sourdough, wheat, rustic, or cinnamon. It doesn’t matter how you’re dressed… w butter, jam, cream cheese, or Brie. Just one whiff of you fills me w yearnings that I cannot control. I have to be strong. I must focus & maintain composure enough to at least feign that I actually don’t miss you like crazy. I pretend that I don’t still think about you. But I do. It’s your chocolate cherry sourdough that haunts me the most. That was our first date, remember? You opened up a whole new world to me, & even after all of this time, I still haven’t forgotten that. Maybe you’ve heard that I’ve been seeing a lot of Gluten Free Bread lately. It’s true. GF Bread & I have gotten very close. We’ve done breakfasts, lunches, & dinners. He was even included at Christmas dinner. And he actually passed the friend test. It hasn’t been easy for either of us, though. The other day, I broke down & gave in to hush puppies & peach cobbler. GF totally understood. He’s pretty great. But, I learned something. I learned that no matter how happy I think I am w GF, I still am not ready to quit you, Acme. I’m not ready to completely give you up. Yes, I still love you Acme. There, I said it. Are you happy now? You knew this all along, didn’t you? That our bond is much too strong for GF to penetrate. I’ve learned it the hard way. You just can’t be replaced. Yours truly, V. P. S. See you soon. Will you put on your best h
