This place is one of my favorite places to visit in the Santa Ynez Valley! I love, love the corned beef hash on Saturdays and the sticky buns are fabulous. During the week, their croissants and breakfast sandwiches are the best you can get in the valley. Lunch always has great specials, and I particularly love the Salad Nicoise or the Reuben sandwich… delicious! The customer service is always friendly and courteous, I really don’t understand what the previous reviewer. Erin K, was experiencing, but it could be the result of lousy customer attitude too. Be respectful and you will be treated the same. I am ALWAYS treated great by the owner and the staff here. Highly recommend, don’t miss out!!!

These are hands-down the best croissants this side of the ocean. Also, I LOVE their quiche. The crust is delicious and it is the best quiche I have ever had in this country. Seriously, this is the real deal and its all yummy.

What a great experience. I had a grilled cheese sandwich. It was the best ever. I have to say the house made bread was unbelievable. The quiche of the day was fantastic. And the chocolate chip cookies were the best ever. The young women that helped me, I think her name was AMY was do very nice and helpful. The great thing is that it’s so friendly and warm.

I live locally and decided to give this place a try this weekend with my boyfriend. Upon entering the place was pretty packed for such a small space. My boyfriend ordered the Ruben and said it was delicious. I ordered the turkey and Brie dry and one of he mini cheesecakes. The mini cheesecake was pretty good and we waited quite a while for our sandwiches, but I understood they were busy(not a big deal to me). When I got my sandwich I notice that they still put mayonnaise on it and politely asked an older woman(who appeared to be the owner) with dark curly hair if they could fix it and I instantly received attitude. After that my boyfriend and I felt very uncomfortable for she kept telling me the progress of my new sandwich order and being fake and sarcastic about the mess up of the order. After receiving the sandwich it didn’t have much on it and was quite small I thought for the price. There was way too much Brie on the sandwich and it tasted and smelled like fish for some reason. I assume the cheese possibly went bad. I didn’t even bother to complain about the sandwich again not wanting to receive anymore attitude we left. I would probably give this place a second chance if it weren’t for the atrocious customer service. Definitely the worst I have had so far in the SY Valley.

My daughters and I wanted to play cupcake wars, so we decided to try bakers table since one of my daughters friends works there… we ordered three different items to all try… let me tell you… from the second we walked in the door the service was fabulous! Both girls working were very helpful with descriptions and recommendations. We ordered cheesecake, carrot cake, and some chocolate thing… and all of it was delicious! Thanks for the great service and yummy treats. we will be back soon.

Funny, how the comments are all over the place, mentioning«conservative vibes» and a few other peculiar references, everyone has their own experience of things. My own experiences have been nothing less than wonderful, food, baked goods, service, ambience and just plain relaxed. Santa Ynez is not a particularly conservative place, very eclectic in fact so, I’m just wondering what people’s expectations were? The quality of the pastries is phenomenal, today I drove over from Los Alamos to pick up an order and took a box of them back to my crew and they were ecstatic, nothing left! Croissants are a real standout as are the cookies and scones. We’ve been in for Saturday breakfast just to people watch and have a great meal. The Baker’s Table has a lot to recommend it.

The food was delicious and of high quality, and the service was good. We had two sandwiches for lunch(the special) which was like an Italian sub — my husband loved it. I had the turkey and Brie sandwich. It was excellent. The problem with turkey is that often it dries out too much, but not in this case. We also had chocolate chip cookies for dessert. Because we like our sweets we took a chocolate croissant and a pumpkin muffin home. We had them for breakfast after putting them in the toaster oven and they were exquisite. The flaky croissant crunch deliciously! I’d def return.

This is a fabulous find with delicious goodies. We started coming for the breads, got caught up in the pastries too. The salads and sandwiches are great too, and the service is homey and friendly. The carrot cake is wonderful and my 10 year old had to have a lemon muffin every time we go in!

Food is good but the attitude is a little weird. No eye contact or typical customer service you might expect from a customer service company. I thought it was because I bring my kids with me that they were unfriendly but I read other reviews and realized it’s just they way they think you deal with customers. Having realized that, it’s good to know that it’s not personal, it’s just business as usual. «No soup for you!» One lady claimed that other customers looked at her because she was in an interracial relationship but they give us the same look and it has nothing to do with being conservative or racist(those two aren’t intentionally related by me), I think it’s just the weird vibe of the place. Kinda like shopping at lazy acres.

The bread seemed one day old and the dressing was too bitter. I have it several try’s but there specials were always sold out. The food is over priced and wait staff is not pleasant. I won’t go back.

What a find! Our first trip to this area and needed to find a little something for breakfast. This charming bakery offers more than wonderful croissants(although the chocolate croissant was great and so was the pecan roll) Highly recommend the corned beef and hash! It is best I’ve ever tasted. And the staff was equally helpful and delightful.

This was such a surprise! To find a place like this off the path was brilliant. Food was amazing! The menu was very creative but not complicated. And the owner, Amy came out to chat with us about the town. We had the Reuben and nicoise, which were both fantastic. But the choc cake was phenomenal! This is a great destroyed nation spot for a drive through the hills!

I heard about this lovely establishment from a friend who knows what she’s talking about when it comes to food and coffee. I am a huge coffee snob myself, and I love food! I went the bakers table and got an oatmeal cookie and coffee. The coffee was really good… The best I’ve had in the SYV so far. I liked the cookie a lot, but I’ll have to come back for a brownie sometime. They looked wonderful! The bakery reminds me of a real french bakery. It’s very clean and pretty, and you can sit down and do some writing or reading while you drink your coffee and eat your lunch. I’m sending this bakery love and light. I hope they do well and stay in the SYV for a long time!

The food was excellent. Why the 3 stars? We got there at 2pm and they were already closing up the outside tables and chairs(even though they didn’t close for another 30 minutes), my boyfriend even said«are you sure this place is still open?» We went inside and it was clean and well put together. The menu was on the pricier side for the décor and ambiance, but it came highly recommended on Unilocal do we wanted to try it. He ordered a Reuben, I ordered a Nicoise. The older woman taking our order had a negative attitude, and was borderline rude(and by that I mean she was hot and cold). She was there to serve us food and it felt like we were imposing on her time. At first I thought it was just us, but then we quickly realized it was just her«thing,» a potential customer called and she was really rude on the phone because she couldn’t hear them. I really wanted to order a cappuccino but part of me though«maybe I should just go somewhere else and give my money to a place with better attitude.» Our food came and it was amazing. My Niçoise salad was simple and the ingredients were fresh and I can’t rave enough about how great and delicious the food was. My suggestion to Unilocalers, order your food To Go, and picnic on one of the many parks around the Santa Ynez Valley. There is parking right outside. The bathrooms are spotless clean. The pastries were mouthwatering. The décor is simple. The food is five stars. The attitude is a shame.

This place is delicious! They made the cupcakes for my sisters wedding last May. I still dream about the carrot cake – seriously the best ever. When we did the tasting, we couldn’t have been treated better. The Baker’s Table is a true gem and it was wonderful working with them. Cannot wait to be in the area again

I think the high reviews must be for the baked goods. We went to The Baker’s Table for lunch upon arriving in Santa Ynez. Close to 2pm(30 minutes before closing), they were out of several sandwiches. I got the very last turkey and brie and my bf had to get the tuna nicoise. The sandwiches were fine, but nothing special and for $ 30+ not really worth it. I do like that it was warm and toasted and the cheese was melted. making it almost like a panini. but it was just turkey, chese, and brie. My bf’s open faced tuna was really just a pile of tuna. he didn’t even eat the slice of bread. Don’t get me wrong, we were totally satisfied with our meal, it was just wasn’t anything special despite the prices. Something to note: this is a very conservative spot. When we walked in, I immediately felt uncomfortable. I don’t know what it was about us, but I could feel the eyes on us the whole time that we were there. I don’t know if it’s because I’m Asian, or because my bf’s not, or because I was wearing not-so-conservative cut off shorts, but wow. I thought I was maybe being overly paranoid but as soon as we left, my bf made a comment about how uncomfortable he felt in there. I don’t know if it just happened to be the clientele the day that we were there(which they can’t do anything about) but be forewarned.
