Really good food! Great service! Really enjoyed my visit. Went to a place called vineyard cpl days ago because looked nicer. looks are deceiving! This place is so much better than that place in my opinion.

Just. So. Good. We were in town getting our wine on came here based on a local’s recommendation… and were not disappointed. This place was packed and we didn’t have reservations. But the hosts quickly rounded up some bar-adjacent tables to get us sat quickly. The patio looked awesome… might try to reserve a spot out there next time. Everyone in our party loved their meal(fish, steaks and prime rib)! Can’t say enough good things about this place.

Ordered a hamburger but after thirty minutes and constant promises from the staff that it was almost ready the food still hasn’t arrived. The restaurant only had three tables at the time. Either the waitress forgot to put the order in or the cook didn’t see it. After 35 minutes we got up and left with no food. The staff hollered after us that it was almost ready. BADSERVICE!!!

This place was absolutely delicious! We stopped here for lunch and the fried oyster sandwich was to die for. All of the meals were great and the service was exceptional!

Menu is super boring from 1990. Food was well prepared. Service was just ok. No specials offered until we asked. We had to ask for everything, it just felt awkward. Over priced for what it was.

Food is sublime, service is excellent, so why is this not a 5 star experience? Nothing stands out about the place. It has zero cool factor. Let me elaborate… The negatives: =========== 1. A barn-looking building outside, a square box inside. Plain as can be, but not industrial stark, plain and boring with bad carpeting. The only thing they have«exciting» is the 4-foot wide lights that hang from the vaulted ceiling. Come on, give me something to work with: color, art on the walls, cool floors! 2. Skews 40+ crowd. If you’re younger(or just wanna act like you are), you’ll be missing the coolness and hip factor. 3. It has a limited wine by the glass menu(this is a wine region)…with 4 glasses of red offered. 4. Asked for a romantic table for a special occasion, and was told we’ll be seated near the fireplace. Sounds romantic, yes? The fireplace on a cool, raining evening was not lit. Why? We were told that with a full place, the restaurant becomes too warm. Come on. I don’t like to sweat, but there’s got to be a long-term solution! The positives: =========== 1. A small, but with very fresh menu selections, one from each territory of lamb, chicken, fish, pork, and beef. It was easy to find something, because each item sounded wonderful. 2. Each item was wonderful! To start, my gf and I ordered a side salad and a cup of cream of mushroom soup. Salad was perfect with great dressing, and the soup was very tasty just oily and lacked texture. I prefer a cream soup that blends half and leaves some chunks. The bread basket with 3 – 4 various small cut breads were great, especially the corn bread. 3. For our entrees, we ordered the grilled salmon and grilled sole. Each was terrific in their own way, and a very large portion… too much to finish. 4. With a special anniversary occasion, my gf and I were treated to a dessert on the house. We were beyond full, but took them up on their generous offer: mud pie, normally $ 9. It was divine! Surrounded by pecans, caramel, and chocolate it rang Turtle Pie! Delicious! 5. Service by Teri was sweet, appropriate, and professional. She set a great tone for our dining. Overall: ====== I really enjoyed, but would not go back unless I’m with my parents.

I have never had a bad meal here… have tried the filet, the pork chop, the chicken and last night I had the rack of lamb for the first time. It was amazingly good. Everything about it was perfection. Well worth the money. The atmosphere is nice, not too fancy, but not too casual. The wait staff is attentive and the food has been consistently delicious.

This restaurant was highly recommended from a couple locals and they were right. That was the best lamb chops I’ve had some far. The Chinese chicken salad and the trout were awesome. Everything from the bread to the main dishes were great and so was the service. The server JC was very attentive, polite and friendly. Highly recommended!!!

One on my regular spots! Love the staff and the food is always consistent! Try the salmon or the top sirloin. You will not be disappointed.

Amazing! Excellence went to school here. Every meal is a piece of art that Matt and Jeff take pride in serving. Cocktails are top notch, where they get that tender, delectable beef is their secret… Can’t wait to go back for sliders and martini

Five stars without exception. Had the trout with potatoes and green beans. Wife had the prime rib. We had the spinach salad and oysters for appetizers. Everything was fresh and remarkably well prepared. Scope of coconut sorbet and Ruby port for dessert. Perfect meal. Great service and convenient location.

Got to the place by accident. Feeling hungry after a 4 hour drive from the Bay Area, we stopped by the first restaurant we saw on Edison St coming from HWY154. I was impressed immediately by the classy ambiance of the place, the friendly courteous attention of the server, Andrea, the amber glow of the candle lights, the festive holiday music in the air. Oh the food, yes, I ordered 18 oz prime rib medium well, and it was superb. The meat was of excellent quality, just the perfect softness, easily cutable, easily chewable, the meat and flavor perfect to my taste buds. Shared it with my wife and I tried her trout which was a delight as well to eat. Definitely will be back to this place.

This may be my new favorite place in the Central Coast for prime rib and steak. It’s more pricey than Jocko’s(Nipomo) but the atmosphere and service is probably worth the $ 10 to $ 20 more. My 12oz Ribeye was a perfect med. rare and came with mashed potatoes and green beans and real baby carrots. That was $ 39. The hearts of romain salad had large amount of shaved parmesan was $ 12 and my glass of delicious local Syrah was $ 14. Excellent service!

I went here this evening with a friend that knows the owners and it was excellent. The ambiance is excellent and you can tell they’ve thought the layout out very well, given that it used to be a barn. The service was great(Joanne) and the food was the best I’ve had yet in the Valley. I had their goat cheese stuffed chicken and a Caesar starter. My cocktail came out perfectly and I love their open kitchen setup. Well played to the brothers! I’ll be back a few times per month on my visits.

I’m assuming«The Brothers» are ambitious chefs and restaurateurs in the area. I guess while they were building this restaurant, they opened Sides further north in Los Olivos in the meantime(which we elated at the night prior). I will say that these guys know what they’re doing. Although I was expecting the infamous Red Barn to be a bit classier, the food is impeccable. Be careful not to eat so much bread like we did. The bread is addicting, but you have to resist getting too full before your main arrives. I went with the ribeye since I had heard that it was to die for, and, it was. I usually stay away from ribeye since I don’t like all the fat marbled throughout, but the consistency of the texture between the fat and the meat was incredibly good. The steak had the crispy, perfectly seasoned char on the outside and juicy tender aged meat inside. We were full but couldn’t put our forks down, so that said, we went with the lemon custard cheesecake for dessert, which matched the brilliance of the ribeye. I look forward to trying the filet and pork chops next time we’re in the area. If you are wine tasting up in this region, I would say The Brothers restaurant and S.Y. Kitchen are at the top of the list of places to eat.

Brother’s is an excellent restaurant serving standard American steakhouse dishes with an occasional twist. Pictured is my perfectly prepared prime rib and my wife’s tuna tartare. Even better was the stilton salad with poached pear. For dessert be sure to have the brown butter ice cream. For more pictures of Santa Ynez see:

Amazing Prime Rib! Lawry’s has always been hands down, my favorite place for prime rib. I’ve tried prime rib at other places and I’ve only found 1 place that could even come a close second… but it was in Indiana lol. I didn’t have high hopes for this place because I didn’t want to be disappointed. What I Ordered — 12oz Prime Rib with Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Vegetables The Prime Rb melted in my mouth!!! I didn’t even need to use horseradish! It tasted so good on it’s own with a little au jus. The Garlic Mashed Potatoes were super buttery and delicious! The veggies were good as well. I demolished everything haha. It was a bit on the fatty side but I just cut those parts out. Definitely a must try if you’re ever in the area! :)
