We had a fabulous time tasting with Jen! I loved each and every wine we tasted and the owner was so warm and easy to talk to. We love Los Olivos and have tried several tasting rooms but the wines here were my favorite by far. We even enjoyed a bottle the next night while dining at Stonehouse at San Ysidro Ranch.

I’m bias because I’m a member. To me this is one of the best vintners in the both the SB and SLO counties. Every time I open a bottle it takes me right back to valley and when the bottle’s gone I’ve already started to book my next vacation. They take a lot of time and effort in crafting their wines and I enjoy the hell out of them. The staff in the tasting room are always helpful and go out of their way to explain the wines to the customers, even when very busy. Last time I was in, I watched Nick explain and work with a customer to find a wine that suited her tastes. All the staff in here are like this and enjoy talking to you. You can taste the pride they have in the wine and see it in the way their staff operate in the tasting room. Unfortunately if you like jammy/sweeter wines, Draggonette is probably not for you. They make great pinots, earthy sauv. blancs and now a chardonnay. P. S. Ask their staff if they can give you recommendations for other vineyards in the area. They have given me some of the best recommendations based on their pours in the tasting room that I had enjoyed.

I was so happy to discover Dragonette! Their Vogelzang Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc is AMAZING as are their Pinots. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the tasting room has a calm, classy vibe. I don’t think I tried one wine there that I didn’t love — now it is an absolute go-to every time I’m in the area!

Wine is very enjoyable, but I’ll never be classified as a sommelier. It’s nice to think we all are, but that is not the case. I like wine that tastes good and they don’t all do that either! Dragonette has some excellent wines, and their tasting room is fun, approachable and without pretense, just like Nick, the gentleman who helped us with our selection. A tasting is $ 15.00/per person, but if you purchase 3 or more bottles the fee is waived. Normally, I hate paying over $ 30 per bottle, but in this case it was worth it. We purchased the 2014 Sauvignon Blanc($ 28.00) the 2013 Sauvignon Blanc($ 45.00) and the 2014 Pinot Noir($ 60.00), which was the closest to the Willamette Valley style that I prefer. Ambiance/Cleanliness-It’s a tasting room, not a winery, so it’s a bit stark and sterile…3 stars Service-Nick was AWESOME…5 stars Wine-pretty damned good wine! 4 stars Didn’t take any photos, was in tasting mode!

After having a glass of Dragonette Sauvingon Blanc at lunch my friend wanted to go to the winery. We drove up to Los Olivos from SB and arrived just as they opened. A simple, no fuss but classy tasting room… the lovely woman pouring was informative and friendly as my friend enjoyed her tasting. She bought several bottles and pronounced it amazing. My friend is very knowledgeable about wine so this is a great compliment. Highly recommend Dragonette Tasting Room.

So I first went to a tasting at a tasting room I was oh so familiar with but wanted to get some of the local small batch options while in town. I asked them if they had one options other than their own to hit for an out of town where would it be. They directed me here and I have to say it was a 5 star recommendation. It’s a smaller small batch family owned vineyard that you won’t be able to easily find three wines unless you come here or join their wine club. The 2 Pinot noirs I had where some of the best I have ever had and I have had a LOT. The Sauvignon blanc and their newly bottled rose were also very tasty. Defiantly make a effort to hit their tasting room you will not be disappointed. Highly recommend: 2013 sta rita hills Pinot noir 2013 duvarita Pinot noir

We’ve been a member of Dragonette for a few years now and they never disappoint. Their wines are amazing and just get better with age. My favorite right now is their Rose. We opened a bottle the other night and I am now ordering a case. All their Santa Rita Hills Pinots are beautiful and I am such a big fan. We also love their special events. They are so educational and everyone is so welcoming. John, Steve and Brandon, you rock!

With over 35 wineries to choose from, variety isn’t an issue in Solvang. Unfortunately service is and the underwhelming experience or the lack thereof was the compelling reason for us to feel«meh,» consider Dragonette a «one and done,» and post this review as tough love. The pourers/host/hostess weren’t inviting from the start; we were turned off when we had to ask on multiple occasions what our next tasting was. In other words, we had to go out of our way to ask for our pours and what kind of wine the next one was, which took more than a while for them to figure out since they weren’t being consistent with whomever was serving us. Oh, free tip– it’s not cool to look at your phone when we are waiting to pay I want to be clear, I’m a fan of DIY, but for paid tastings that’s a genuine let down. I can’t imagine that happens often for anyone who frequents wineries. But if and when it does, you can’t help but feel like you’re paying a fluff of a premium with virtually no valuation. To have to remind our host/hostess that«hey, Uh, whenever YOU find it convenient for your schedule, can we have our next tasting please?» — as we patiently wait for the host/hostess to finish their conversation among themselves(they were not entertaining other guests/visitors either, else that would be much more understandable). The experience is analogous to being in an uncomfortable position to ask someone who owes you money for guess what, owing you that money! Ugh! The pours were lite which didn’t help their cause either. Had it not been for the poor service, a brush off the shoulder would have been enough. But that’s not the case here, you went down in flames Dragonette, Khaleesi from Game of Thrones couldn’t help you get your $hit together.

Known for their Pinot Noir, I thought the 2013 Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir was pretty good, but at $ 45 not good enough to buy more than one bottle. The tasting fee was $ 15. Very good service. Busy. No problem with parking during the week, but can be a problem on the weekend in Los Olivos.

Amazing company! We went behind the scenes by doing a wine tour with Sustainable Vine Wine Tours. We got to taste their wine in their warehouse and learn more on how the wines are made. We got to know so much about this company and how really passionate the three owners are about their products. I absolutely love the fact that for them the main point is the quality of the wine, not the quantity or overall how much money they can make in year. My boyfriend actually bought two bottles from this place because that’s how amazing their wine is! I don’t know the man who gave us the tour, but for a new employee he knows so much! Very friendly staff!

The Service: Friendly service. However, especially we had been to a few wine tasting room already so didn’t feel that attentive. The Tasting Room: Small tasting room. There is one community table for seating. Very simple decoration in this tasting room. The Parking: Street parking in front of the tasting room

Fun first stop on our Sideways tour. Good selection of well crafted Pinot Noirs and some tasty whites. We enjoyed the layback setting and the wines are very elegant as well. We shared a tasting and revisited several of the selections. Tucked down a side street in Los Olivos this is a not miss when in the area.

The guy in the tasting room had more generous pours than the two other women. Their whites were subpar but their reds were really good. We especially liked the radian, duvarite(sp?), and seven. The Grenache was also solid.

We stopped here based on a recommendation. The wines were fine, nothing was bad, but nothing was crazy good either. We enjoyed our time, but nothing compelled us to purchase any bottles. What made this place special was the help. The girls were nice and helpful and friendly to talk to. There was plenty of counter space to account for the multiple groups of people that came in. I’d recommend this place to others but there are definitely better tasting wines in town. Overall Rating: C+

Never heard of this winery before until the excellent Jess set up a wine tasting for us. After a long trip across the Central Coast«enjoying» wine tastings, I was happily surprised to find this winery and its delicious treats among my top 5 wineries of all time. Maybe even top 2. The Dragonette MJM is the most unique red wine I’ve ever had. And most definitely one of the most delicious. I believe it’s a blend and I can only accurately describe it’s flavor as «tastes like leather». In a good way. Tragically, we only acquired one bottle, but next time I visit, I will likely purchase a crate. The tasting room was a beer bench among the barrels and it felt very posh and kinda awesome.

My friends and I really enjoyed Dragonette. One of my friends is a member, so the tasting was complimentary. The tasting room is a good size with plenty of room, nice and cold for a hot summer day with a friendly and knowledgable staff. The rose and pinot were our favorites. The owner came out just before we left and talked to us for awhile too, which was nice. I’d definitely recommend checking this place out when you’re in the area.

4.5-stars for the wine. Dragonette makes my favorite Sauvingon Blanc from California. I will say, it’s not what I would call a traditional Sauvingon Blanc, you know it’s a Sauvingon Blanc by its nose and taste, but it’s flavor is unique. Their Pinots are quite good and a blend called MJM, is one of my favorites, 5-stars for the service. I’ve tasted here 3 or 4 times and I’ve always found the staff friendly and welcoming. I’ve met the wine maker John a couple of times and I always enjoy talking with him. One thing I really like about the tasting room is they have 3 glass canisters of soil from different areas/vineyards. If you’re interested they will explain the different soil types and how the affect the grape/wine. I’m am always up for a little education with my wine tasting!
