I just called John about a computer connectivity question and as usual he was very helpful. I would never go anywhere else for my machine repairs, fabric, or questions. This place has it all, and the staff are the best! Love them all.

Thank you Debi for a fabulous embroidery class today. I had a great time, learned a lot and am truly grateful for your extra little tips today.

Comprehensive supplies, but even classes advertised as basic are not a particularly friendly environment for beginners.

I live 2 hours away from Village Sewing Center, but it’s the only place I’ll go for repairs. The ladies in my local sewing guild all recommended them as the place to get my machine serviced when I moved to the area a few years ago. They were right! They are wonderful, reliable, reasonably priced, and they know what they’re doing. My sewing machine recently became too broken to fix, and they were terrific about the whole thing. I bought a wonderful, used machine from them with a 1 year warranty, and I got much more machine than I’d have been able to buy new. They knew my budgetary constraints, and they worked with me to get the most value for my money. They didn’t try to up-sell or convince me to spend more money. They understood what I needed, what I could spend, and they went out of their way to find the perfect machine for me. I feel like a welcome and valued customer every time I go there.

I just finished my first quilting class at this lovely store. Dena, a paragon of patience and good cheer, steered the 4 of us beginners toward completing our first quilt. The class achieved near perfect balance between instruction and actually sewing. My only suggestion would be to add additional sessions to allow quilting in class and to include binding. By the time we got to the quilting-quilting(as opposed to the endless cutting and even more endless ironing) we were given excellent hands-on pin-basting then shown a few ways to quilt our project and sent home to do it ourselves. I am a confident, if not always competent, seamstress but the idea of working this hard on something and then goofing up the actually quilting process scared me to death. Mine turned out fine but it was touch and go for the first few rounds. Reckon that speaks well of her instructions. Still I would have preferred an hour or so of actually doing it in class. My abject criticism is that the class should have been offered with a black-box warning: Quilting, while not particularly dangerous to your health, is addictive.

It’s a great place to learn how to use those sewing machines that are hard to figure. They have classes that are fun and take the time for you to get it right. Great place!

I was introduced to this place when I emailed asking for someone to teach me to use my brand new and intimidating computerized sewing machine. They gave me a name/number, and that person set up lessons in the classroom area at Village Sewing Center. Great big store with all the latest machines! But also some fabrics, yarns, notions, etc. they have a pretty busy repair service, and people are constantly coming and going. They carry the unusual tools on the shelf! Staff are all friendly and knowledgeable, but also know their boundaries. This is the North Bay’s big anchor sewing department store, and all the others are like convenience stores. Seriously.

Our old Singer was in bad need of repair and after a failed attempt at a local Singer repair shop nearby we did a little research. We live in Half Moon Bay but the reviews were so good for this store we took the drive to Santa Rosa. SOOOOO happy we did. The repair personnel were top notch and knew their trade. We got the machine back in no time and for very little expense it worked like a dream again. Everyone there is super friendly and helpful. They treat you well offer a great service as far as repair, sewing lessons, machines for sale and everything in between. LOVETHISSTORE!!!

I LOVE this place more than I can say! I have a very specialized machine, but they have a very knowledgeable staff who have always been able to help me with everything I need. They are also incredibly kind, teaching me so many things about my machine and sewing in general.

Sewing stores are such wonderful places. This one is absolutely great! I haven’t visited their new site yet but plan to soon. I have visited their old locations in Montgomery Village and Coddingtown. Always great service.

What a fabulous experience shopping here. The people are so knowledgeable, so friendly, and service after the sale is outstanding. Very unusual to get personal treatment like this anywhere in retail anymore. I bought a really nice machine for a fair price which is good. But what is best is the free yearly check up on my machine and classes in how to use the machine. That is real value when you consider what you pay for most electronics and then have to go off and try to figure it out on your own. What a great deal to feel I am getting the most out of my machine in terms of usefulness and longetivity. You may get a cheaper sewing machine somewhere else, but you will get the best value long-term at this locally owned business.
