This place was great. They are limited on options and space but that’s understandable. I got a waffle and egg and bacon. The egg itself was a good quality. Bacon was fine and crispy. The waffle with berry and lemon curd was amazing. Even the plain part of the waffle was sweet and tasty. The staff was helpful even though I was the only one there. This is a cute place to relax at, feels like a normal café.

I needed a cake ON a holiday, when the UBA was closed. No matter. The amazing Holly baked me the most magnificent cake and OPENEDUPTHEBAKERY so I could pick it up! What! Incredible service, not to mention the cake was TODIEFOR. I had asked for something vague like, «chocolate and espresso,» and she made a layered flourless chocolate and chiffon cake with espresso buttercream. It was fantastic. Extremely reasonably priced, too. If you live in Santa Rosa or nearby, definitely get your cakes here!

A while ago I tried their french toast casserole-like item on their menu(picture posted), which I forgot to mention before. It was presented beautifully, but tasted poorly due to it’s bland and slightly burned flavor. Although it was presented nicely with berries and whipped cream, I had to add a descent amount of maple syrup for it to taste acceptable.

Homemade-style pastries, the way mom makes ‘em. They could use a better, deeper roast for their espresso drinks – very thin and light, while tasting burnt. Otherwise a great find!

I ordered a pecan pie for Thanksgiving and it was the best pecan pie I had ever had. Will definitely be going back.

Great place, good coffee, great food, will be back for sure. I had the fritatta which was onion, sausage, egg and cheese if I remember correctly. It was delicious. I also had a regular coffee which was nothing to write home about as I usually frequent some pretty snobby coffee places that make most other«good» coffee seem like dark watery coffee subtitutes, so no surprise there.

Today, 9−27−15 we came in for breakfast around 9:15am. We were promptly greeted, and drink order taken. Upon getting our drinks, neither of us were particularly fond of our drinks. A bit later our food order was taken. She ordered a scone, and I ordered a cinnamon bun. Her scone came out, and I waited, and waited, and waited, and waited, and then I waited some more. My cinnamon bun never came out… and I was over it. Bottom line, I think this place could use some improvements! Their coffee was nowhere near as good as flying goat which is my favorite. I did taste her scone, and it was really, really good, and the dude working the counter was nice, and friendly. But I really think they should hire some help for the front end, if just for the busy hours on the weekend. Because clearly, he was over whelmed, and that’s why my order was completely forgotten!

Unilocal had helped steer me to this cool, from-scratch bakery, and here hopefully I am steering you toward it too. It is well worth your dollar. We ordered two fruit scones, a sausage breakfast sandwich, and two cups of coffee for a recent breakfast that hit the spot marvelously. The scones were light-tasting, the fruit inside perfectly in-season and ripe. The breakfast sandwich tasted as though it had been prepared with kid gloves, the English muffin wasn’t rubbery the way it usually is at cafes where the sandwich is microwaved. A large bakery kitchen is fronted by a medium-sized café at this establishment. There are some odd, charming knickknacks and mismatched tables that lend a 90s funkiness that I very much appreciated. Boy am I sick of every place looking like a Ritual Roasters or a Four Barrel. Give me some throw-back. This place gives reason all its own for trekking up to Santa Rosa.

I had a great experience at this location. Anthony was friendly, conversational, and even gave me his meal(because I ordered the same thing) so I would receive it quickly. I ordered the breakfast sandwich– which I’m sure varies depending on which ingredients they receive as he informed me– that had bacon, egg, cheese, argula pesto, a hint of lemon curd, and literally the softest English muffin I’ve ever eaten. The vanilla latte was perfect. I got the peach almond scone as a snack for later but once I tried it I ate half of that too. No shame. All in all, great service and even better food. $ 14 for the three items which is pretty standard around here for quality coffee and goods at an independent place. Can’t find anything wrong with this bakery especially when it’s down the street from me. Huzzah

there was no seat when we were there. I ordered two stone to go. It was kind of just ok. Two stone costs me 7.5. I thought it is pricy.

We ordered a veggie breakfast burrito and a cheesy pesto toasted sandwich and found both delicious. Each meal came with a small green salad as well. I ordered a tea and my husband a coffee and both of them were nice. We liked the fact that there was some outdoor seating so we could bring our little dog. The staff was friendly. Overall nice, casual café for brunch, lunch or getting drinks.

Wow. This place is awesome. I went in for breakfast and ordered the bacon, egg n cheese breakfast sandwich and can safely say it was the best one I’ve ever had in my life. They add some nice touches to it which take it to another level of deliciousness. The man behind the counter is as entertaining as he is good at making coffee drinks. He floated around making friendly small talk with all the customers. Had people laughing and really made the small café feel like something special. All the food looked incredible. Their pastry case was filled with fresh and unique items that I also noticed catered to the imaginary gluten free epidemic. I’ve already told everyone I know about this off the beaten path Santa Rosa gem and can’t wait to go back.

I’ve been coming here for a while, but I am totally impressed with the service I received on Sunday morning. I love their pumpkin chocolate chip muffins, and iced tea to relax on a sunny Sunday morning. Anthony was very nice, and was so helpful in making sure my visit was great. They have some great breakfast items, and the pastries are terrific. It’s a great vibe with a turntable playing the Talking Heads and kids are definitely welcome. I always support local businesses and I will recommend this place to my family and friends.

I wanted every pastry in this café but settled for the sticky bun. It was heavenly and I ordered the baked eggs with goat cheese. I’ve never tasted eggs that fluffy and perfect. My boyfriend had a special chile relleno with mashed potatoes that was also amazing. Bonus points for teaching me what a London Fog is.

My wife is gluten and milk intolerant and I wanted to surprise her with a delicious birthday cake for her birthday. Thanks to Dawn and her ability to create a masterpiece without these ingredients, I was able to surprise her with a delicious cake for her birthday. It was so rich and delicious my wife practically ate Half the cake in one sitting. We will definitely be coming back for more!

Im a big blonde weirdo when it comes to breakfast. I would quickly choose leftovers from yesterday’s dinner over something I consider over-played and frankly boring like an omelet or hash browns. Thus when I find some hidden jewel like this self-proclaimed«Noshery», hope springs eternal for the future of breakfast. Little did I know when I arrived at Undercover Baking that I had already sampled some of their delicious desserts, at the Redwood Café. I recall trying the coconut cream mini pie, and being quite satisfied. The location is in the SOFA district, in the old Bliss Bakery address. They have truly made it their own, with whimsical decorations, and a cozy atmosphere. We started with London Fogs made with almond milk, which was easily the best I’ve ever had. Sweet but not too sweet, and creamy but not heavy. After that, I deemed it appropriate to have dessert first because, let’s face it, life’s uncertain– so we ordered a Lemon Tart. The crust was an unbelievably buttery shortbread, and the whole tart was topped with a deliriously fluffy meringue. This meringue was then dusted with what tasted like candied oolong tea. Quite a fantastic way to start breakfast. For our entrees, we had the Baked Challah French toast, which was crunchy on the outside, light and airy on the inside. All the pieces, which by the way were a more than generous serving, were drizzled with a lemon daffodil sauce, and topped with a handful of plump, fresh blueberries. Pretty much the . It was popular enough that we ordered two of them. Mom ordered the garlic cheese scramble with veggies, and it was savory and filling, with copious cheesy goodness. Other than the location being somewhat off the beaten path, and equidistant from the Naked Pig and Spinster Sisters, Undercover Bakery has a unique product, with unreplicable results, and small batch quality.
