Honestly, I was a little afraid due to the name. However, my guy insisted; and it was the«BEST» food we had all weekend, and we are staying in San Francisco! The Dragon’s Breath Sushi Roll, Dynamite Shrimp and the Brisket Sandwich ALL were to die for!!! The only thing better was our server, Thadeu whom took excellent care of us!!! Way to go Tex Wasabi’s Santa Rosa!!!

Eclectic décor and inventive menu! Customer service indeed did suck at times. That said, enjoyed the cocktails(mostly; second bartender poured my last strawberry basil cooler way sweet, too much syrup :/) The cherry juicebox with effen black cherry vodka & pineapple juice is dangerously good. Between drinks we enjoyed two appetizers, the jackass roll(is that pulled pork in a sushi roll?) and Vegas fries, which were crisped up and tossed in buffalo sauce. garnishment atop added a nice nuance and accompanying cream-based dipping sauce had a pleasant flavor of its own. Wish I could’ve tried more food but happy hour ended and I turned back into a pumpkin(aka I only had enough for the happy hour menu) Give it a try! Just don’t expect anyone to roll out the welcome wagon. Could be splitting hairs but why print«Rock n Roll» on the chopsticks sleeves; all we heard midday on a Tuesday is crappy top 40 hits you’d hear in a strip club, like tasteless r&b and modern radio repeats. Would’ve appreciated some authenticity in that respect but I guess I get it. gotta play what the kids’ll go for.

Love this place — a total go-to when in SR. Fantastic fish and brisket tacos — delicious fried string bean appetizer — delectable sushi — salads are fresh and yum — chocolate lava cake is the bomb! Excellent sides(spicy eggplant, grilled veggies, fried pickles & fries) we even love the gringo sushi! Try the Rockin Lava Shrimp & killer egg rolls :) Last night our server, Wes, was attentive and courteous. Was surprised to see a $ 61 charge for our Moscow Mules, but it included a $ 50 deposit for the cooper cup which was subtracted at check presentation — had never seen that before and gave our party of 3 a laugh. Not sure what other people are experiencing but we absolutely LOVE Tex Wasabis! Try it — it’s got a great atmosphere and an eclectic and easy to please everyone menu!

Yeah… I’ve heard good things about this place from some people, but i wasn’t actually that impressed. meep. I came here for happy hour with some coworkers, and honestly, I feel like sushi could be done much better at actual Japanese restaurants. Personally, I had the Chicken Avocado egg rolls because I figured their specialty was fusion. It was alright, but not memorable. I also tried my friend’s Vegas Fries. I think the flavor was pretty good, but the fries were not that crispy, and the ensemble was a little too greasy for my liking. The garlic fries that the table ordered later, however, were a lot better, and I ACTUALLY enjoyed them. My recommendation for happy hour here would probably be the fried pickles(yup, these def had my approval~~) and the Cabo Fish Tacos. Both of the people who had the fish tacos were actually super satisfied, so I’m thinking that item is particularly good here. I’m not particularly motivated to come here again, but who knows…

Omg! A-mazing! We had fish tacos, sticky calamari, rock n roll clams, potstickers, deep fried shiso leaf with spicy tuna and the 2 of us cleaned all plates. So f’ing good!

First off, this lone star is for solely AND I MEANSOLELY the FOOD. I love the food here. Yeah, it might be slightly overpriced, but that’s O. K– it’s delicious. What sucks is that I CAN’T GOHEREANYMORE because the service is absolute garbage. The last 3 times…3…I have been to this establishment, something has gone wrong when under the circumstances it just SHOULDN’T have and then it was just handled very poorly. Examples? Here ya go: 1st Try.) I ate two pieces of my gringo roll(God, so yummy). And then I noticed a piece of black thread in one of the pieces. Yup. Thread. Like from a sweater, or a T-shirt. When I mentioned it to our waitress, kindly(I’m a server, I GET it, stuff happens), she says all perplexed«Oh I think that’s a chilly-pepper!»…GIRLWHAT? Anyway, she took the rest away and only half was comped. Awesome. 2nd Try.) Went in with a girlfriend for a cocktail. There were the two of us, and three other people in the whole restaurant… took 30 minutes(you’re damn right I timed it) to get our two drinks. Because the«bar was backed-up»…WHAT…HOW? 3rd Try.) Another girlfriend and I, despite knowing how horrendous the service is, decided to try again. Lol well, we were seated fast enough… and then we sat there for 15 minutes without so much as a hello or a glass of water while NOTONEBUTTWO servers bustled back in for between their TWOTABLESEACH in the whole restaurant. That 3rd try my friend and I went to Belly next door. It was absolutely packed(wonder why) but we were greeted within 3 minutes of sitting down, got our waters, got our drinks, ordered apps, ordered food… all within the time we were sitting and waiting to just be greeted at Tex. Again, I’m a server, and I GET it. Every restaurant is different. But when I see that there’s a total of 5 seated tables in an ENTIRE restaurant(including their upstairs and bar!) and I don’t get greeted for 15 minutes, or my server tells my that the clothing in my food is an edible chilly-pepper, takes aways my food and only comps half without offering anything else(I was still hungry :() then there’s something seriously wrong going on with the training in this place. When I go somewhere, like Tex, with such awesome food that I don’t even get to enjoy because the service is just so incredibly poor then that really, really sucks. I WISH I wanted to go to Tex. I’m going to eventually have to give To-Go orders a try, because I really do miss the food.

My review is only for the main bar as unfortunately the people we were meeting said they were running late and would be there in 10 minutes. Takes a little longer than 10 minutes from Petaluma and they were almost an hour late so the appetizers and drinks we were going to have ended up being just a few drinks. With that said, the bartender was very attentive to everyone who was sitting at the bar a well as standing near it(as we were), people were drinking and eating at the bar. TV was on to the Giant’s vs Dodgers game and then there was music blasting on the TV set that was on next to the TV set for the Giant’s game. In my opinion it would’ve been nicer to hear what was going on with the baseball game then music videos but that’s just me. The price of the drinks wasn’t too bad. A Coors Light and a Diet Coke with Fireball Whiskey was $ 9 and the glasses were nice sizes. We ended up at Annie O’s afterwards and for a bottle of Coors Light and a barely shot size glass of Coke & Fireball Whiskey(it took them several minutes to figure out they did not have diet) it was $ 11 and my coke & Fireball was barely the size of a shot glass at Annie O’s — way overpriced). Once people started clearing away from the bar the rest of our party finally showed up, and again the bartender was very attentive. I would say for the bar anyways, it was clean, bartenders were friendly & attentive and the price was very reasonable for our drinks. Next time I’m hoping we get to come back and either eat real food or at least have appetizers.

When we have friends from out of town we bring them here since they have such a wide range of food. I’m 7 months pregnant and one of the few things I can eat without feeling sick afterwards is Nick’s Trick, no salmon and add cream cheese. Baby loves it. Their bollas are so yummy and you can get a good variety of drinks here too. All around its a great place.

I’ve been here on a few previous occasions and wasn’t too impressed. However, after reading all the great reviews of late, I thought the overall meh factor may have changed. It hasn’t. My brisket sandwich(which my office has renamed«disappointment sandwich») was tough and gristly. A saw may have been necessary to get through that one, but I don’t keep one of those in my desk. It was school cafeteria lunch quality. Bummer.

I’m having a hard time writing this review because I’m slipping in and out of a meat coma. There are SO many menu options and EVERYTHING looked good. And everything was good! Everyone in our party ordered something different and we all shared. I was blown away by the bbq and the sushi was just as incredible. If I had to do it over, I’d order the brisket and the red dragon roll for myself and tell everyone else to buzz off! Tex Wasabi’s really exceeded my expectations.

So I have come back here and was accommodated for what happened last time. This shows that the manager truly cares about customer service and that’s something that I appreciate very much! I will continue coming back here :)

If you want to know the cleanliness of a restaurants kitchen start with the bathroom. This place is filthy. First of all when I came in I walked in through the back door and saw the bar tender take a sip from a beer he just poured too full. He literally put the glass to his lips and sucked the foam it and placed it on the tray with the other drinks for the waiter to pick up! Disgusting!!! He thought no one saw him but I did! The food was mediocre at best and the service as well. This place is way too hyped up for what it is. Totally not worth it.

I returned here last week for drinks and had a very pleasant experience! We were looking for a place to have a glass of champagne to celebrate her engagement, and were content with the $ 9 split bottles on Tex’s menu. Each split provided us about a glass and a half, and the bartender was nice enough to deck it out with berries! It was a Saturday at 6 and the first time I had ever seen the place near capacity. Happy to see a local business doing well!

For a Guy Feiri restaurant, I was unimpressed and disappointed. I expect better than that from a guy that goes around the country and hard critiques diners. In any event, I got the cabo tacos and the marina del ray sushi roll. They were alright, but wouldn’t shout out about it. I happened to be in the area to get my laptop fixed, so this was a quick jot over to get some food in my stomach while I waited. They did have a good deal on the wine, as Thursday are 50% wine day in the afternoon, and you can cork and take the rest home. So that is a plus star. In general, until Guy polish up his food, including the atmosphere(very plain, unexciting… so disappointing at that as well), I won’t be going back. Bottom line, unless you are here for one of their drink deals, and want some snacks as you drink, don’t bother with this place. Sorry Guy! I am fan of you on the road, but not your place.

Came here with a couple of guys. Went to Johnny Garlic, but I didn’t like it that much. Very expensive food but had a little taste to them. Here, on the other hand, was different. I actually enjoyed it at Tex-Wasabi. Ambience was a little too dark for me, but it did have a nice set of feel to the place. Had only a few TVs, which is great. More time to talk and spend time with family and friends…, I liked that. We ordered some food such as sushi rolls, bbq sampler plate, appetizers, and drinks. There were some rolls that had bbq concept. Interesting idea. So, we tried some interesting sushi rolls. I would have to say that they were interesting, and the tastes weren’t too bad. However, I liked to stick to the original. Good idea. Doesn’t work for me. The sampler plate was pretty good. Had different types of beef. The hot link was delicious. The brisket was amazing. I enjoyed it. The drinks weren’t too bad. Since it was 9⁄11 and we were in the military, the waitress gave us shots. Awesome waitress. Rating: Food: 3.5 Service: 4 Ambience: 2 Price: 3 Overall: 3 I would come back. It was fun. The food was pretty good. The waitress was awesome.

I love the happy hour at Tex Wasabi! My friend asked for a great hh spot & I remembered this place — I hadn’t been here in awhile. Atmosphere: A Great bar area with TVs and a long bar. Drinks: A+ We got a bowla which is about 4 types of alcohol and about 3 juices and is served in a bowl with plastic fish! the 2 of shared it and it was the perfect amount of alcohol. It was Wednesday so it was half off! yay! Food: A+ I am not a sushi person but I love that they have options for me to enjoy bite size heaven too! I usually get the California crunchy roll but it wasn’t on the hh menu so I got the tempura shrimp«wok n roll» — delish!!! Service: A Our bartender was very attentive and seemed to be having a fun time making drinks! I can’t wait to go back!
