I took a bread making class on 3÷24÷13, I must say I learned SOOOO much. The instructor went over lots of techniques and tons of samples and everyone got to make some bread and proper techniques for making the bread. I wish I lived closer so I could take more classes.

Ok, so we went to the cooking class that is offered. It was date night, the menu was Butternut Squash Risotto, Salmon with a hazelnut and thyme compound butter and a yummy chocolate desert. The class was amazing! The chef was great, he really made us feel like it was ok to not be a world class chef and still make a semi complicated dish. We both learned a bunch about everything from knife skills to how to patiently cook a perfect risotto. I can’t wait to go back!

Please note, this review is for Mary Bergin’s cooking classes here at the Sur La Table kitchen/cooking school. I really enjoyed Mary, she knows her way around the kitchen(she is VERY experienced) and is super funny yet professional. I think I’m a decent cook and know a bit more than the average person and I still learned some stuff from Mary. She has great tips and delicious recipes that she gives you when you leave. The cooking class was set up so well and was very organized, the kitchen here is beautiful. It’s exactly what you would expect, seating where you can see, mirrors on the ceiling, stations set up so everyone can get their hands dirty, ect. Mary mentioned the tools and products she was using and why she used them but there wasn’t any pressure to buy anything from the store, which was refreshing. I highly recommend Mary’s classes for a fun date night, family day or just to learn about cooking.

The store is great, just like most Sur La Table. I had the opportunity to enjoy a class taught by Chef Tony from Sea Thai. It was awesome!!! Mary Bergin(also mentioned in a lot of Unilocal reviews) was there too. and she was super friendly and helpful too. I highly recommend the classes!
