I’ve been here twice. That said, I think I’m done. Their buffet looks more appealing than it tastes. The shrimp were overdone and extremely hard to peel, enough so that I didn’t finish mine. The chow mein vegetables were raw. I like crisp, but they were not actually cooked with the noodles. The ribs were good. There was nothing sweet to finish the meal. Meh. There are more places in this little area to try.

Not very impressed in the least. Ordered phở and some spring rolls. Phở Tai Chin was very bland and loaded with MSG! Spring rolls were pretty bad, and the so called fish sauce was way too sour. I’ll pass next time when invited to this restaurant.

Go somewhere else. Vegetables were raw. Tofu was chewy. Rice was stale. Service was ok. Peanut sauce was good.

If you happen to be heading to the Charlie Brown Airport/Santa Rosa Airport, CA. and want to take a time out before the flight, take a detour off Airport Blvd onto Aviation Blvd and look for a Vietnamese Restaurant almost hidden by the Movie Theater. It’s a bit of a grind for me to get from my podunk mountain town to S R, so it’s nice to take some time to just get out of the car and relax before going on to the next task. The strip mall there doesn’t have too much going on so parking is easy. For me, finding a Vietnamese restaurant is always a treat. You can find Chinese and now Thai pretty easy these days, but Vietnamese not so much. I prefer the lighter, less fiery fare of dishes especially the spring rolls. Vietnamese spring rolls aren’t deep fried or have a ton of cabbage in them. They serve them with shrimp here(common). Few people can resist a good bowl of Phở. The menu had plenty of interesting items and not just the tourist type things. The place is clean, with muted lighting which is a great escape from the glaring sun. A Vietnamese Ice Coffee beats anything I’ve had from Starbucks, but that’s just me.

I had their lunch buffet, I was not impressed. The chow mein was worse than panda express. Even the rice was really dry and flavorless. I’m very disappointed. I would not recommend this restaurant.

I’ve been coming here for something like 5 years on my own, with family, and with co-workers. Over that time I’m sure we’ve spent thousands of dollars here. I’m certainly not a regular, but I do frequent this restaurant. We endure the high prices, because we like the food and it’s close to home/work. The ambience has improved over time and the food has remained the same even after change of ownership. I try not to be a hassle as a customer, having worked in food service I can confidently say I’m actually quite easy… Had I been prompted to write a review after any other of my dining experiences it would have been 4 or even 5 stars, but a restaurant is only as good as your last meal… I choose one of three dishes every time and very rarely stray — lemongrass chicken, combination vermicelli, or rice wraps served with grilled pork, prawns, vegetables and vermicelli(spring rolls you wrap yourself). Today I ordered the rice wraps. They come with 7 or 8 rice papers that you dip in a tray of water to hydrate, then add your meat, etc. I make these EXACTLY the same every time, and coming from a Vietnamese family I’ve made literally thousands of them for my large family gatherings. Anyhow, my system allows me to consistently make 6 rolls with the supplied meat — at least, it usually does… You don’t ever receive the same amount of meat with this plate, but usually it’s varies only a small bit. Today, I got only enough meat FOR2ROLLS. Yes, 2 of 8 supplied rice papers were used. When I asked why there was less meat I was told I could order a side of meat and, «This is the portion of meat for this plate…» which has NEVER been true, and when I brought up how long I’ve been coming/how many times I’ve had this SAME, EXACT meal they blamed the economy/inflation… The restaurant was more full than I’ve seen in a while, and to initially tell me I was wrong about the usual portion was insulting — THEN, to blame the economy, because I caught you in a lie(as I sat in a 70% full restaurant) was OBSCENE. I understand the difficulties that come with running a small business, but WOW… This is a $ 15.10 plate before tip, so I guess I just spent $ 7.55 per spring roll. 2 Stars for the good food quality, expedience, and ambience — 3 Stars removed for lying to me and then not remedying the situation. It really upsets me that I will have to take my business elsewhere, because I do truly enjoy the food, but I DONOT tolerate lying and a lack of customer service. Xin chào, My Ha.

It was weird when I was there at 7 pm during dinner rush and there was not one person in the restaurant. I have been to this place many times and little by little it’s been getting more and more disappointing. Food is ok that’s why I kept going back. It’s nothing special but really not great. It was just a good place to go if you were close and wanted some phở. It’s been a few months since my last visit and now prices are through the roof. I will never go back!!! Can’t spend $ 11.75 on a soup and get 2 appetizers at $ 7.75 a pop and spend $ 30. Doesn’t make sense. To top it off I live 5 minutes from this place and my soup was not warm when I got home. Had to put it in the microwave for 2 minutes to make it a little hot. All the others in Santa Rosa are cheaper and better. This place will not be in business much longer if they keep it up. Sad to tell the truth but if you don’t make great food you cannot charge great food price. People are not stupid. I’m sorry whoever owns this place but it’s the reality. Good luck all!

I always order phở here and it is top notch. Very reliably good. The meat is great and the broth is tasty. Service is very fast. I like the fresh lemonade too. Springs rolls were OK.

This place isnt really that good. Most food has MSG. It says so in the menu. The one waitress looks so depressed and as if dhe hates her job. My friend who has been here before a few times, says she always looks that way. Hmm. i didnt appriciate the depressed mood. Fake a smile. Seriously. Food was not fresh. I couldnt even finish my meal.

If you like dry meat, overpriced, and MSG overload type of food then this is the place for you. If not, then you are better off anywhere else.

Good phở, not the greatest service. Serves it’s purpose for a before — the — movies meal.

I had only had Phở once in San Francisco since we moved from Seattle to Windsor and was very disappointed. It appears the way Phở is made and served here is very different that in Seattle and personally I loved the Seattle way. I called this place last night cause I was really craving Phở and asked the waiter if they could prepare it for me the way they did in Seattle. After explaining to him how it is done there, he said not to worry, that it will be better. I picked it up and came home to open the package and was pleasantly surprised that he did it exactly as requested. Next time I will be sure to ask for more basil, lime and sprouts since the portion was not very generous, but aside from that, he hit the mark! I will definitely be back.

Do not eat here. Overpriced, medium portions, bad service. Very expensive. Food without sauces normally served. Had to ask where my coffee was after 10 minute wait. What a disappointment.

The servers are very young and obviously inexperienced. They all seemed to share tables, not sure who our waiter was. We had questions about menu, they didn’t know the answer. Before our food came, we were asked if we were ready for our check. We were asked again while still eating. The phở was ok nothing great. Spring rolls were mostly just a ton of lettuce. Do yourself a favor and go to Saigon Bistro on Windsor Town Green, it is amazing.

We used to LOVE this place, always warm and inviting and the food was really good for many years. But it has really gone down hill over the last year. The carpets were stained and ripped, the mini-blinds were falling apart, and the food has gotten so bland we had to douse it in fish sauce. The worst part of dinner, besides the freezing cold temperatures and empty restaurant, was the waitress who spent the entire time complaining to another worker about the boss and threatening to file disability claims against her if she didn’t get the work schedule she wanted. No one wants to hear about how much you hate your job! I hope the new airport gives the owners the revenue for an overhaul — in decorations and in staff!

First time I tried it, would have rated them 2 ½ stars the phở was okay, I am from LA where phở is usually amazing so I was not impressed. Second time I realized its because they don’t use MSG! You can also ask for chilli paste, which adds more flavor to the brought. I can really appreciate a healthy clean meal. Only downfall is that the soup is not filling they don’t give you enough noodles or big so you need to order a large to feel satisfied.

Literally walked in for a quick bite… ordered the spring rolls. Plenty of shrimp spring rolls on the plate, but not the tastiest, nor with the right texture of the wrapper compared to others I have eaten other places. No real interaction with the server who seemed to be doing everything that needed to be done. Sort of glad I had no plan to eat a meal here… to bad because I could have been back the next night!

My co worker and I stopped here for a quick bite on a whim. We realized there was a small buffet and opted for that. The food was good and fresh. The shrimp salad with sprouts was really tasty. Te service was good and it was fairly inexpensive. If you have a choice between the Carl’s Jr. or here and want food that is not fast food it is worth it. It is also in the same lot as the movie theater. I only took off one star as the place could use some updating and fresh paint to make a better atmosphere.

My wife and I stopped in for some phở and spring rolls on Sunday.(We had just walked out of Kettle Vietnamese Bistro by Coddingtown because the place was too expensive and too«foo-foo» for out tastes.) Our spring rolls were very good and fresh. Our soups were very tasty and hot. The service was friendly and helpful. If there is one thing I can say that isn’t totally positive, is that the meat portions in the soup has dropped off since when we started going there some years ago. The flavor is great, but there could be a little more meat in the soup.
