We had such high hopes for this place. The service was really terrible. We waited for over an hour to be served our dinner, while watching four other tables receive their food before us despite them arriving after us. Our server did not check on us for the first 50 minutes then came by and said the food was coming — no apology. Then 15 minutes later I went to complain. Instead of offering to comp part of our dinner, I was offered a glass of wine. No one apologized for the wait. The food finally arrived, and again no apology but we were again offered wine, despite the fact we told our server when he took our order that we didn’t want any wine. I ordered the rigatoni and meatballs. It was very mediocre. The meatballs were moist, but the dish lacked flavor, was drenched with olive oil, and was overall lackluster. My husband ordered the veal piccata, which was actually pretty good. Our server did offer us dessert, but at that point we were done. The Caesar salad was excellent, and the bruschetta was good, but did have a lot of olive oil. Would not return or recommend.

It was really dark in the restaurant. I got the linguini special with prawns, scallops, clams, fish, and squid. It was sooo good and extremely filling.

Fantastic place to end our fantastic day of wine tasting. We brought our own bottle in,(corkage fee of $ 15.00). Food was slightly small proportion, but yummy! Bread with the olive tapenade was delish! We shared the crème brûlée, it was just«okay», but the waiter did an awesome job gathering up coworkers to sing happy birthday to our friend with the Italiano twang. Fun fun fun! Will come again, and again!

What can I say, never have a bad meal at Lococo’s. I’m pretty easy to please when it comes to Italian but wholy Lord, their Lasagna will blow the socks off of any other. Simply Amazing! In fact, I think I will have dinner there tomorrow night… Hope I can get a reservation. My only one recommendation is this, if you are sensative to noise, ask for a table upstairs when making your reservation. The downstairs can be a bit loud but still, the food is more than worth it. Ravioli’s are also amazing!

I have had several lovely meals here! This is rich, delicious food and one must come with an appetite. I always have some to take home. I just had the eggplant parmigiana and it was to die for! Great authentic, friendly Italian servers. Good recommendation for wine. I will be back for more. Someday, I will save room for the Tira Misu.

Omg, I LOVE this place. The food is awesome – the scallops and risotto is amazing; the lasagna is incredible! I love the ambience; the service is always GREAT; and I always feel so at home here. This is my favorite Italian restaurant.

I was seriously blown away by this place, and I’m so grateful my coworker was willing to try a random restaurant with me while we were in California for work! This place was AMAZING. They started us off with an olive tampenade and fresh bread that I could have eaten my weight in. It was so tasty, and we just kept making oooh’ing sounds between sips of wine(good selection!) and piling more tampenade on top of the fresh, crusty bread. Then, because we wanted to make sure we were going to have to waddle out of here, we were convinced to try one of their special appetizers for the day — figs and prosciutto. These were mouthwatering and incredible with the balance of salty and sweet. We each ended up taking one to go because they are HUGE and come four to a plate. Perfect for sharing though! I really love the lady I was with because she didn’t even flinch when I suggested sharing our entrees. I ordered the Chicken saltimboca and she grabbed the ravioli and we split our meals so we could each try them. The ravioli are handmade, and everything was so freaking tasty that I was in mourning when I realized I’d likely never get to have them again. If you live in the area, you MUST go here and try it, and always ask for the specials!

Quaint Italian restaurant with, in our case, an authentic Italian server with great personality and accent who’d obviously been in the game for many years. He was also hard of hearing, so best speak up and clearly and be happy he gets it right. Restaurant is small, fills quickly, and has an awkward restroom right under the stairway which also requires navigating a very thin hallway which is traveled with servers from the kitchen. Everything was good, and our customers seemed pleased. Would go there again, but ensure I got there early or a bit late to give it a chance to thin out a tad.

Went to Lococo’s to PICKUP two orders today and Johnny the server was rude. I asked if he could charge us seperately and he said NO, we never split bills here. This is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. I don’t know any restaurants that cannot ring up seperate bills. We gave him $ 40.00 cash and needed change and he walks away thinking he was going to get an 8.00 dollar tip. Not, if you’re rude, Johnny. I come here with my family frequently because the food is good but I am EXTREMELY disappointed with bad service. That is a total turn off. Think twice before you order from Johnny. Another thing that was very strange was that when they gave us change, they took it out of their own pockets. Hmm… Something fishy there?

I’ve read the other comments both good and bad. Guess we got really lucky. We had Johnny and he exceeded our expectations service wise. The food was outstanding and the wine was delightful. We plan to definitely come back and refer all of our friends to this fine Italian eatery.

Been here almost 4 or 5 times. They are awesome. Ironically the best steak I have ever had. The argula and shaved parm on top makes it even better without taking over it. The Quattro Formaggio Fet. was great very flavorful and not too weighty. My only detriment is that sometimes they are too«old world» and refuse to believe their pasta is under-cooked. Sorry but gummy is al dente. They weren’t rude but refused to concede it wasn’t us. Thus said their food is too good to complain. One issue isn’t worth taking off all their stars like some people do. Osso Bucco is great too. Have not tried any fish/shellfish dishes. Tip: Call ahead, the place is small and packs in pretty quickly. Don’t bring a huge party or kids. Not enough space and there’s stairs.

This place requires adult supervision. Went here last Sunday night to celebrate our anniversary. Chose this place based on Unilocal reviews. Food was great! Décor delightful. Staff… well… And unfortunately it overshadowed the good food. First, my wife and I watched as our server and the bartender continually sniffed the bottle they were pouring our glasses of wine from only to shrug and pour them out anyway. The wine was corked. Beyond watching them sniff repeatedly I could tell the server had full knowledge as he grimaced when I sniffed it and offered a newly opened bottle immediately. Second, while we were waiting on our slow entrees, a server from a section across the room came to the busser clearing the tabled next to us and began unrestrainedly screaming at him for failing to tell him about an appetizer ordered by the front window table. Beyond unprofessional for the front of house. I then began looking for a manager to address these issues(as I prefer not to Unilocal snipe). For the remainder of dinner, no one appeared. Not one time did a manager enter the dining room. Clearly, the servers know they are without supervision or accountability and take advantage. There are plenty of Italian places in both valleys. Go to one that values their craft and customers.

The fact that I have been practically living above this place for over a year and haven’t tried their incredible food is beyond me! I have always heard good things, but as my boyfriend once put it, sometimes it can be hard to spend money on pasta when it’s so easy to make at home. But let me tell you… this pasta is better than anything that you can make at home! I had the rigatoni with meatballs which was insanely delicious. The meatballs were cooked perfectly and I could tell that the pasta was made fresh. And we shared the burrata which I want to eat for every meal now. SODELICIOUS! Even my pasta skeptic boyfriend was very impressed with the food! Not to mention the service was outstanding and the ambiance was cozy and romantic! We will be back!

We found Lococo’s on Unilocal and what a great find indeed. We are visiting from Hawaii and wanted to have some good Italian. Our waiter Jimmy was so nice and helpful. We had the rack of lamb and the seafood pasta special. AWESOME! The tiramisu was maybe the best we ever had. The setting on 4th St. Is quiet and comfy. The small but comfortable dining room is alive with friendly chatter and the aroma of the kitchen is like an old home style place. We are DEFINITELY coming back on our next trip too wine country. Mahalo & Aloha.

Took my cousin to dinner here for her birthday. I have been here a few times but she never has. We had great food, wine, and fun! The people next to us were too close & we could hear everything they said — annoying. Food was fantastic — I got the pappardelle sausage & she got the gnocchi. For dessert I got the cannoli & she the crème brûlée. It would have been 5 if I didn’t hear the crazy conversations.

Although I no longer live in Santa Rosa(I grew up there, back before the earth had cooled), my closest friends still live there. When we go out to eat, or when VVSP and I are in the area and go out to eat, chances are ten to one that we’ll end up at Lococo’s. It’s reminiscent of an old red sauce Italian restaurant, but they have elevated their cuisine. It’s noisy and bustling, mainly because it’s always full. The wait staff is adept and full of fun(trust me, that’s a good thing). VVSP and I have been there when the place was packed and he had a craving for a pasta treatment that wasn’t on the menu. They went out of their way to make him exactly what he wanted. If he hadn’t been a fan for life before that, he is now. Recently three of us dined at Lococo. We split the burrata appetizer(extra points for the grilled bread), calamari(red sauce/white sauce), and rapini with garlic. He had veal with roasted potatoes and kale; she had the seafood risotto; I had the linguini with Dungeness crab in a tomato cream sauce. One glass of prosecco, iced tea, three coffees, and one dessert. Total: $ 144. A meal like that for under $ 50 per person and, oh, by the way, I took away enough linguini and rapini to have a great lunch the next day – I’m still shaking my head.(Yes, I live in San Francisco, where everything is pricey as the dickens, but still.) Oh, yes – lots of fresh sourdough bread with a nice sort of tapenade-y spread accompanied the meal. I’ve never had less than a delicious, plentiful meal at Lococo, and the entire staff always make me feel welcome and taken care of. Thank you, Lococo, for being in my home town, and for being awesome.

Great Place — Love the people and the atmosphere with good food and an affordable wine list. I grew up back East with lots of Italians — and this is what it reminds me of — more like a local joint, kind of old school classic Italian dishes. The wine list is better than average for this kind of place. Good Crusty Bread — they have a Montalcino da Bruzzo(Mont-all-cheeno da Brew-zoe) for around $ 40 bucks which was quite delicious. The waiter was fun — definitely reminded me of North Beach in San Francisco. This is not top Italian dining like Ca Bianca — this is local, good ol Italians kind of food. Go and enjoy yourself — calm down you big time reviewers, this is a good friendly place — and It’s LOUD. Don’t sweat the small stuff is what my Dad always says.

It was a packed house on marathon weekend here at Lococo’s. So I have to give them the benefit of the doubt on the lack of service skills for this evening. But I was sitting at the bar by myself, so it’s still no excuse for a person to be left unattended for long periods of time. My server who was behind the bar, was not familiar with the menu. I asked him how the Budino was and his response was the ingredients in the recipe. Also the random strangers next to me asked him a question about substitutions and he didn’t know the answer. But my pasta was decent. Though lacking in the condiments and complimentary bread because he probably forgot… again benefit of the doubt. And with the Budino… if my server would have accurately answered my question, he could have told me ahead of time that the cake was dry, and that I was glad that the ice cream on top did help out a bit. But other than that, this place is an ideal place for families and couples. Plenty of wine all around and walking distance to all the cool stuff in Santa Rosa.

This seems like a tiny hole in the wall, but it’s definitely a local hotspot. We got a reservation for a large party pretty easily. The food all sounded pretty good. I got the clam linguine(don’t know the fancy Italian name for that) which was very tasty. Lots of good flavor packed into the sauce. The service was decent here, helpful and fun. Parking is on the street.
