Lakeside Cleaners

I’ve been bringing our dry cleaning to this cleaners for three years. My husband of 50 years is very fussy about his clothes and he hasn’t had one single complaint about the services they provide, most of which is basic dry cleaning. They have done hems on all his pants and minor repairs on other things. We haven’t used them for any real tailoring. They are very good at successfully tackling serious/​impossible stains, especially when I explain what the stain is. When the dog pees on the duvet, it comes back completely clean. My order is always ready when I show up and the owner is professional and friendly so I always like stopping in at Lakeside.

Excellent dry cleaners! They ALWAYS get my husband’s uniforms CLEAN. That, in itself, is a miracle! They are equally as impressive at cleaning everyday items, like suits. Even delicate items — like cashmere sweaters — are treated with precision & care.
I took a suede jacket in and it was returned looking like new. I am very happy to have found them; we will be loyal customers for many years to come.

I moved across town and was seeking a new cleaner for my husband’s shirts. The man at the desk was very nice, so 2 stars for him. But when I came back to pick up the 17 laundered/​pressed shirts, they gave them back to me with those little plastic things (about 2″ long by ¼″ wide that holds the collar in place during wear) all bundled up. My last cleaner always put those back in for me. I asked him about it, and he said, «well, we can do it if you want us to…» Um, YEAH, I just spent $ 50 here, and the whole point is to have the shirts ready to go! I don’t want to have to put the collar holders back in! I was in a hurry so I took the shirts and left. This is not a full-​service cleaners. I’ll continue my search…

Lakeside Cleaners is great! I have my clothes laundered there and they always do a great job. They pick up and deliver Mondays and Thursdays and they are always very very nice.
The clothes, even the rags (!) come back sparkling clean. Coming from a dual-​income-​with-​kids-​household, having them do my laundry has saved our marriage. The owners are very flexible, helpful and hardworking.
I’ve had things dry-​cleaned there as well and everything has turned out great.

This place just doesn’t cut it, well they did cut my pants unevenly… so I guess they just don’t cut it even. They do both dry cleaning and tailoring here and neither is spectacular. I’m all for local businesses and that is why I gave this place a couple of chances, but they let me down. Dry cleaning is fair at best but I felt like their prices for larger items and hard stains was too high. Plus they didn’t even get the stains out and the price they gave when I dropped off was NEVER the same as when I picked up! As for tailoring… ugh 2 pairs of uneven pants later I gave up. They do have reasonably nice staff who did attempt to give me good customer service whenever I had an issue but I don’t think that overcompensates for their high pricing and poor quality. I’ve moved down the street to Thompson Cleaners… much better!
