I am thanking every star in the heavens for Chi and this salon! It has absolutely SAVED the hair cut that I got from the Shop down in Petaluma. I came hurrying in on a Saturday night, still distressed and recovering from that depressed and anxious self-​esteem free-​fall that affects those with bad-​haircut-​itis. Chi took a look at the photograph that I had brought along, gave me the truth of the matter (that my bangs had been chopped too short at the last place to get the exact same wave effect) and then set to fixing what was a truly TERRIBLE haircut.
It took her less than 15 minutes to trim up the back of my hair and texturize my bangs, as well as show me how to style them properly with a curling iron. And she didn’t even charge extra! I will be coming back here again and again for my haircuts and styles. Chi is incredibly friendly without being afraid to tell you the truth, which I value in a stylist. She does fantastic work, and she treats you with respect and actually listens to your requests. I will be recommending her to all of my friends in Santa Rosa, and she has just gained one loyal customer who loves to get new hairstyles!

Great haircut, friendly stylists. Chi cut my hair. Went from long hair to a long bob and she did a great job. I didn’t do color, just a basic cut, but it was high quality and well worth the $ 20.

Well, AMAZING JOB! And it was pretty quick too! Got my hair done in a pinch to take my Senior Portraits, but it ended up being I wasn’t able to take them do to the studios lack of employees. but either way AMAZING JOB! I’ll be in again soon :)

I’ve been coming here for ten years. Melissa does an awesome job with color, touch ups, highlights. I had no one else touch my color for ten years, that says how much I like her. She is also one of the very few in the North Bay who can do a great blowout. That is RARE in this area of the world!

Melissa… Thank You! I had been running all over the mall for the past hour and I had 30 minutes to fit in a haircut. My usual place was across town so I decided to stop by. First of all the back of my head was drenched in sweat since I was up and down trying to hit all the spots. I told her about the sweat and she proceeded to wash up my hair before the cut — which she mentioned was included in the price. I had never had my hair washed at a salon before and it was great! She was so personable, cool, and attentive it had me at ease. Once the wash was done my hair was clean, refreshed and it smelled oh so great! She noticed that my side hair grows faster than the top and she made that section shorter and higher without me having to tell her. She said «I knew it since I saw your hair– your sides are way longer so I knew it grew like that.» Wow! The cut was even, clean and very nice. She also trimmed my beard a bit and even pulled the back of my shirt out a bit and trimmed some of my shoulder and back hair! That threw me off and it felt a bit invasive, but again, she was so talkative and told me her son had the exact same hair and the routine seemed normal– it was new and I appreciated it. After we were done I was expecting a high tab since it was wash, cut, beard (and back trim), and it was $ 20! You cannot beat that! It was all new and Melissa made it a great one. I will definitely be back.

Melissa is my official hair dresser anywhere in Sonoma County. I have been a resident for a few years now and had disastrous results finding a suitable person to deal with my hair. I’ve gone from cheapie hole-​in-​the-​walls to high priced salons and could never find someone who can cut and color my hair correctly. Finally, I came to InStyle near to tears and Melissa fixed it all with one appointment. I have been a loyal customer ever since. Melissa has done every thing from bangs, to touch ups, to coloring and she hasn’t disappointed me. Very heartwarming and friendly! I wouldn’t dare go anywhere else!

Chi is an outstanding hairdresser and person. I had an early appointment last Friday and left with a beautiful haircut. Chi is quick but very precise and cuts to highlight your best features. She’s also one of the nicest people ever. She’s truly an asset at this salon. Thank you, Chi!

I stopped in on a Sat a for a haircut of my dry mop of summer hair and left with an excellent cut and new look– for 20 bucks! Melissa was quick, clean, and listened to my instructions. She also offered suggestions, but only because I asked – very professional. You could get both hair and nails done, but better call ahead on a Sat. That’s my plan for next time!

They are good but pricey. Sometimes it’s worth spending the extra money for a good job. The staff is very nice and do exactly what you ask them to do.

At April… As I stylist at InStyle Salon I have to back up this place with when Tracy cut your hair she didn’t take off 4 inches I was standing two stations down and instead of asking Chi nice to come look at your hair u yelled for her to come over. I had a client as well as Chi and both of our clients looked at each other trying to figure out why you were demanding chi to come over. I’m sorry but as a stylist we can’t please EVERYONE. As far as paying for the cut you only had to pay 16 dollars. Normally for your hair it’s 21 dollars so we are giving you a deal. Instead of saying all the negativity towards the salon why didnt you bring up when Chi did your waxing for free. Sorry we didn’t satisfy you but again we can’t please EVERYONE!

Awesome place for a haircut in Santa Rosa. I’m sure there are other great places in town, but this place gets extra points for kindness, service, and location.
I normally try and make an appointment, but I’ve NEVER been turned away for walk-​ins. I do this quite often because I shop the mall a lot.
I definitely recommend this place to everyone. A+
