I absolutely love this bread. Their Ciabatta is the best and the staff there is super friendly.

Best bread around. You can never go wrong with their bread. I have tasted pretty much every bread they make. My kids eat their sliced sourdough for their school lunches. So happy I found something my picky kids like.

I admit it! I’m a spoiled California that must have sour dough bread! I send it out to Texas to my sister cause she too needs her Frano-American Bakery bread. Thankful to have access to this family owned bakery.

When you get out of your car across the street and are stopped in your tracks by the fresh-bread smell, you know you’re in the right place. We just stood in the middle of the street and inhaled. Then we went in and fondled the variety of soft, squeezably-fresh loaves, settling on a country-style Italian loaf that provided a tender foundation for two lunches’ worth of sandwiches. (The fact that they’re in a residential neighborhood makes it even better. That, and the complete lack of atmosphere in the tiny storefront tell you all they care about is the baking.)

Fresh bread at a good prices. No fancy lists or descriptions. Ask for help if you don’t know what you want. Sour dough a favorite and french /Italian style panes are available. They will save anything you want for you if you call the day before. The breads offered at their retail corner store are from whatever they don’t deliver that day. They also have a ‘day old’ section on the left as you enter. Good prices to feed a family. Discounts compared to store prices and of course fresh is always the best. Their main business is supplying retail food markets, but do sell to the neighborhood as a courtesy I think, and move the extra product for the following two days.

For Thanksgiving in Calistoga I was assigned the rolls. I ordered five dozen for 17 people. The hostess scoffed… and we scarfed. Not one single one was left from the meal that was served at two thirty. Absolutely the best rolls you can find in the North Bay. And… I was a hit for finding them.

Their bread is tasty, but I was shocked to see that they use margarine in place of real butter on their garlic french bread! Nothing French about that! The French use real butter, and lots of it! I’m sad to see a local company using margarine, especially one that claims to use quality ingredients.

I have been going here to pick up awesome baked goods since 1964 or so. Even the day old is good. All much cheaper than grocery stores. I love to buy local.

Great sourdough. I love the Slim Jim French Roll. Very good and good pricing, too. I wish I could find this closer to home. Oh well, an excuse to travel around a bit I guess!

Charming, authentic and delicious! The bakery has a city-feel in old suburban Santa Rosa. Well worth the short stroll south of Railroad Square — and the sweet french loaf … get some Irish butter, and — oh my! Fantastic — so fresh, irresistible.

Good bread! the store is small and has a friendly staff. The products can be found in most stores in Sonoma County… and they can also do special orders for events.

This is a great old local bread bakery that has been around for a long time, in what used to be the main Italian neighbourhood. The bakery wholesales bread to stores and restaurants all over the area, with great traditional sourdough, sliced sourdough, great rolls, ciabatta, etc. If one goes straight here to the bakery, one can get the bread freshly baked for much less than in the stores and day-old bread for even less.

Their breads are delicious. You can get fresh baked bread for around $ 2.50. Their SOURDOUGH, RYE, and their SWEETROLLS are delicious. They also have DAYOLDBREAD for half price. Try this place out!

They bake artisan bread every day, and they have been doing so for over a century. It has been in the Bastoni family for three generations, since 1900. Their famous Sourdough Bread is still made from the same starter recipe that was used when they began. Franco American Bakery also operates under the name Mezzaluna Bakery. Mezzaluna has over 10 varieties by itself, including Focaccia, Ciabatta and Pane Lievitato. The Bastoni signature country style baguette is my personal favorite.

Just bought a loaf of sliced sour French bread for $ 1.25! Sure, it’s day old but it’s so cheap and delicious! Their brown and serve rolls are the best dinner rolls and are sure to impress. However, be sure to order ahead because they’re not typically available.

Franco makes the best sourdough french bread money can buy.(No kidding) Their quality is unsurpassed, and it will ruin you as far as french bread is concerned; nothing else holds a candle to their awesome french bread! I can’ say enough about this place, truly top notch !!

This place has classic San Francisco style sourdough! Quite a small store, when you walk in, the day old bread is on the left and fresh stuff is on the right. Much cheaper than at any supermarket! I asked the cashier what day is the best for day old stuff and she told me it was Thursday.

Now this is how nor cal sourdough is supposed to taste, no that take and bake crap all the chains are going to now a days, cattlemen’s, applebee’s chili’s etc. Its like mother’s milk. One you bite you can stop.

So they have this stuff called milk bread* that’s one of the most lovely bread experiences I have ever had — and I am a bread snob! It’s a soft yet relatively dense loaf with a chewy, not-too-thick crust. Ideal for sandwiches and snacking. Our family lore has it that my great uncle requested a loaf of this be brought to him as he was on his deathbed in Lodi. For reals, y’all. They also make a mean dutch crunch roll. *Okay, maybe it may have some official name that is more like«sweet french loaf» or somesuch, but by god, that’s what my mother grew up calling it when she was a kid and that’s what I’m going to call it.
