Cafe Des Croissants

Love this place, super quick and has been good everytime. I usually get croissant with ham egg and cheese of berry croissant or muffin. Yummy great to run in before work

Yikes! This place must have switched owners or something. I have had breakfast here several times over the past few years but the last two months the place has taken a hit. First, what is most important is the food. I usually get a croissant «duh» breakfast sandwich, which used to come served boiling lava hot. We used to joke about ordering the sandwichs by phone and coming in a half hour later to eat it. Hot, but served on a nice fluffy, flaky croissant. The last two times I have ordered my food has come lukewarm and smashed down like it had been backed over in the parking lot.
Now the employees. They used to have two girls that were there on most days. They were cute and friendly, now they have an Amy Winehouse looking broad who frankly scares me. This part is not Café Des Croissants fault, it is Santa Rosa in general these days but you have to run the gauntlet of crazy homeless people to even get in. As I was leaving today I actually had a man come up to my car and ask for money.
If I must have Café Des Croissant, I think I will go to the one in Petaluma which is much cleaner.

I asked if they make latte art and if they know the burning temperature of milk. The guy laughed as he said no. Um, why are you working at a coffee shop?
Less then par coffee. And bagel; over toasted.

I absolutely love this place. I would say the best pastries in town. They have A lot of choice croissant, bagel, and sandwiches. I try their mini filling croissant, and my friend got the the bagel sandwich. Everything was delicious. We both love it. Sevice was great, very helpful. We sure will return soon.

Wow this place it amazing. Good food and service very fast. Coffce good and good prices. I just move to live in Santa Rosa. Am glad I found this place .get be my stop every morning. Before go to work

Had my grandchildren and daughter over.
Wanted to take them to a different place for breakfast. They ordered croissants and egg bagel. We loved the food and atmosphere.

I say location is a hidden treasure.

I love this little café, it has plenty of seating, outside seating as well. It is not a new building so if you want a sterile environment, if you have to have new construction and if your a track home baby this is not your type of place.
***** If you want a little cottage like café with a friendly employee and some good sandwich’s this is it. Located in an older housing development so truly a community café.
I was looking for a little hide away to burn two hours as I wait for a friend, this is perfect get away. This truly reflects a cute cottage community of Santa Rosa.

Nothing like having a sandwich on a croissant! My girlfriend and I have stopped here a few times. We have never ordered coffees but the croissants were yummy yummy yummy!

I used to love this place, close to the best croissants in town, however the quality of their product has really gone downhill. Rather than crispy, flaky, buttery layers of croissant, it is very «bread» textured. I will say that their bagels have not changed and are very good. The coffee is decent, the service is always great, but the wait for your order is very spotty. Sometimes it takes forever for your order and other times it’s really within 2 minutes. The outcome of my order has been all over the map too, added avocado has been missing several times, but if I caught it, they did rectify it.

I had no idea this place existed until today. And i’m glad I found it. This is an odd location I almost though I had the wrong place until I saw the sign. I’m impressed with the place. When I walked in there was a dude playing guitar and tons of people enjoying their morning. I got a cinnamon raisin bagel which was delicious. I expected to pay around $ 2.50-$ 3.00 but no. $ 1! How do you stay in business? I see the posts below about long waiting in line. Charge $ 2 a bagel and use the extra revenue to hire someone to prepare the food when ordered instead of running off and doing it every time an order is placed. Faster in and out time for customers = more customers = even more revenue. Problem solved. Keep up the great work on the great atmosphere.

Delicious special (Sonoma) very well put together and evenly layered. White mocha was delicious and artistically frothed.

Really want to like this place and have tried repeatedly to appreciate it but my last two visits were awful. Last week ordered a breakfast croissant and the egg was spongy and brown… Amazingly unappetizing. When I complained, the server stared blankly at me. A few weeks ago I had a croissant sandwich from the Montgomery location, which was heavy, soggy and again… Amazingly unappetizing. These croissants feel like a rock in your stomach all day. Top off with servers taking forever, chatting and checking their phones… Leaving dirty tables for customers to clean, I give up trying to like this place.

Just got a message from the owner saying that their bagels are actually not from Grateful bagel.
Maybe they should clear that up with the employee that told me that and the «Around Me» iPhone app that lists this location as «Café Des Croissants-​Grateful Bagel» :)

Great place for breakfast sandwiches. Great Chanate is one of my favs. Their mini croissants are always a hit.
Service is ok. Depends who’s on shift-​some days are better than others.

I hate writing bad reviews. This neighborhood place is a great local business. The food is decent, the coffees are pretty good. Not really good, but pretty good. But this place has a huge problem in that they can never seem to get the line moving.
It’s common to wait in a 4 – 5 person line for 10 minutes or more. I never go here except when I have a lot of time and am starving. Last week, I called in my order to expedite things, and finally had to be that guy who just leaves money on the counter.
I know! I’m that guy! But come on! They’ve got to get the line thing figured out.
The food is pretty good. And cheap. I can’t bring myself to lower the rating.

Nice neighborhood location with an oversized outdoor chess set that can make this venue kinda fun if you can get past the slow service, wobbly tables, and mediocre espresso drinks.
One of my big pet peeves with cafés is when they serve espresso drinks in paper cups. Come on! If I wanted my latte in a paper cup I’ll go to a drive thru. So, if that bugs you too, don’t bother w/​this pop stand.
Bagel and croissant were served luke warm and the people behind the counter seemed put out when ask to heat them up.
Bottom line: there are too many great cafés in SR to bother with this amateur operation.
