First time getting an ice cream cake from here. They wouldn’t write Happy Birthday since it’s policy I guess. I wouldn’t have bought but it was a last minute fun idea for my daughter and she will be getting one today with writing from somewhere else. The cake was good but not sure if I will buy another.

We were on a childhood memories food tour, when we suddenly remembered Baskin-Robbins. This after months of making our own ORGANIC ice cream and trying all the local glaces du jour, but man, the pink and white logo just cut through all the new haze. We dove in. It was two-for-one sundae night! What?! Friendly upbeat, energetic counter help were perfect for this excursion. They had cones dipped in chocolate with few hundred sprinkles, I could see some little kid as mentioned in another review losing it to get one of those, but yeah, I’m sure they do cost more. BUT, back to the sundae deal. It was great. I didn’t for one moment think about organic heavy cream from the cow in your back yard and I had a great time and enjoyed every spoonful of that sugary hot fudge delight and every bit of the conversation with the counter help. Three cheers, Baskin-Robbins!

A warning! The Sonoma County Library has a summer reading program for kids. When a child completes it at the downtown branch, one of the awards is a coupon for a free scoop of ice cream at this Baskin-Robbins. It’s a nice gesture from our library. However, when my son got his ice cream, the person at the counter misled us. She asked us which cone my son wanted. I immediately spoke up, «He can have any of them?» and she said, «Yes,» nothing more. So my son went for the cone with the sprinkles on it. After she scooped the ice cream she tried to charge for the cone. When I reminded her that it was a coupon, she said this cone costs extra. I understand that policy; but it’s not appropriate to tell a child with a coupon he can have any cone, confirm that when the parent asks, and fail to tell us it’ll cost extra. When I said she should have told us before, she simply repeated the policy and insisted on charging us; so I told her, «I’m sorry, but that’s not appropriate» and she gave me a look like«How dare you judge me.» She should have been clear and, when she wasn’t, apologized for the misunderstanding. I would have paid at that point. But, after misleading us, she just gave us attitude; so I insisted she change the cone. Hopefully this store is not trying to systematically mislead kids to get some extra $. But, when you try to get your free ice cream cone, be careful.

Always a matter of preference, but if you like Dairy Queen blizzards, the Baskin Robbins version of it is a major disappointment. They may have put a chincy amount of mix-ins in the middle, but most are on top. All they had was vanilla soft serve. They were kind enough to put chocolate syrup in at my request, but it barely darkened the chalk white vanilla. This is not for blizzard fans. Their sundays are good though, especially chocolate fudge ice cream with hot fudge, m&ms, and oreos.

Very busy, clean and friendly. The staff cheerful and willing to please. I had a coffee cappy blast thingie while good, too sweet and I’m allergic to something they use to make it. I liked seeing all the happy lil kids and seniors enjoying their sweet treats. Made me smile…

The ice cream was great for me to cool down on a hot day. The staff did a great job letting the line know they would be just with us. It was nice to be noticed.

By far the most well kept and clean BR in the area. The owner really cares about his shop, and is very friendly. He also manages to hire young people who actually have a good work ethic. Great place and yummy ice cream.

This is the cleanest BR of the bunch. I’ve visited the the one in RP, Coddingtown, and Windsor many a time and they are all in need of a sprucing up. As for the ice cream, it seems to taste better even though it all comes from the same freezer. The ice cream is not as good as Screamin’ Mimi’s in Sebastopol or Double Rainbow in SF, but it is consistently good.
