I took my 19 month old here for her allergies. The front desk and the nurse were helpful and kind. When we saw the doctor she had no bedside manner. The doctor didn’t really believe me that my daughter was having reactions to allergens and told me that kids have eczema and can have outbreaks for no reason. Then continued to question my assessment of my daughters reactions as if I was exaggerating or making it up. But we have had blood work to confirm food allergies. When I asked any question it was always met with a very short unfriendly response as of I was bothering her with my questions. We did the scratch testing which confirmed a ton of allergies. But again the doctor spent no time talking with me about any of it. I was given a pack of flyers on food allergies and told to come back in a year. I will be going to another pediatric allergist. Someone who is willing to answer my questions and talk about my concerns. I would not recommend this place to my friends or loved ones. I have spoken with other moms that have taken their children here and they feel the same.

To be fair, I think Dr. Mima Petrick’s first day on the job was just a week ago. I hope she reads this. My problem is that I have just gotten an all-over my skin severe itchiness to the point where I am scratching the skin off of myself. The receptionist who answered the phone told me the prices for people who pay cash only, which is what I can do since I no longer have health insurance. Bronze health insurance is now almost $ 1k a month for my family & we do not qualify for subsidies. The cash price is $ 175 for a visit, and it’s $ 12.50 per each single scratch test. A full test would be 40 of them. I tried to negotiate down to $ 400 for everything but the receptionist told me that the 25% off price is all they offer. Mind you, if I had health insurance she would be paid about $ 36 for the visit to the doctor, and about $ 160 for the entire 40 scratch test but no matter. Further, even though I’m really in dire circumstances with scratching my skin off almost, I could not be seen till sometime in FEBRUARY. My skin will not survive that long. She might be a lovely doctor, but I found another allergist in Novato who is charging $ 8 for each scratch test and $ 75 for the visit. And I get to see him in 2 days. In the meantime, I am doing & I’m on two prescriptions which are helping, but I was recommended to see an allergist and I’m still itchy, but the meds are helping me to survive this bout of super-allergic reaction.
