My husband and I disagreed on how this should be titled…“Best scallops ever” or «10 inches is too much.» Guess which one was ruled out? We’ll start with the vetoed title-a 10″ grouper Po Boy, which, by my husband’s account, was delicious, albeit enormous. I chose the scallops, which were so tender, had a light, savory seasoning, and were seared to perfection. A squirt of fresh lemon was all it took to send my tastebuds soaring. The crab cake appetizer was also delicious – I picked it because a random patron was compelled to recommend it to me as she was leaving. We were seated by the windows, where water continuously cascades down the exterior, giving me ideas of how to avoid cleaning those pesky panes at home. The interior windows could have been a bit cleaner for my liking, however, my own kids found it difficult to keep from pawing at them, so it’s probably difficult to keep up with THAT. In conclusion, if the name isn’t intriguing enough to make you stop, the promise of delicious seafood should. Don’t forget to try the piña colada. I had three… and they ranged from«mmmm, sweet» to «OMG, my husband is going to have to carry me to the car.»

Can’t believe how awful this place was. Service miserable, food terrible, and dirty. If I could give zero stars I would. Do not go here unless you want to create some memories of a crappy vacation dinner.

Bad service and took over 1 hour 10 minutes to get our food and we had to go to the manager to get this accomplished! A closer look at my daughter’s check they had charged her for tea that she did not order or ever received. Just a bad experience over of food & service!

We waited 1 hour for our food. The waitor was very unfriendly. I do not recommend this place!

The service was so atrocious that I am actually on Unilocal, typing a review. I saw that other people had complained about the service, but I insisted those people may just be impatient, etc. No, it was that bad. When we get there, all of us are hungry and so thirsty after a day at the beach. We were finally brought our drink order after what felt like hours. We ordered appetizers and those took a long time too, but the worst was our meal. Most of us ordered po’ boys and we sat with our eaten oyster platter and empty drinks waiting on those sandwiches for at least 20 – 30 minutes. The sandwiches were average. By the time we were done eating, we were the only table left in the restaurant. We needed drink refills, but we were so anxious to leave that we all stood up and waited for her to bring our check. Nothing is worse to me than waiting to pay the bill. She finally brought the checks but left again before we were able to hand her our payment. So more waiting. Next time I am on 30 a, I will be skipping this place.

We ate at the restaurant and also picked up fresh seafood to cook at the condo, so I am reviewing both. One day we went to the restaurant at 2 pm and ordered hush puppies and 2 dozen oysters. The hush puppies are awesome! They are light and buttery. The oysters were fresh and delicious as well and from 2 – 5 they were $ 7.99, can’t beat that! We went to the market 3 different nights and we ordered steamed shrimp with seasoning, mahi, snapper, lobster tail, and scallops. The shrimp is incredible and fresh! I am not usually a shrimp fan, but this was awesome, we got that as an appetizer all 3 nights! The mahi was great, the snapper was delicious, and the scallops were huge! We grilled the fish and scallops and both items were very tasty. I highly recommend buying your fresh seafood here to cook at home!

We have yet to visit the restaurant but we ALWAYS visit Goatfeathers Seafood Market while vacationing on 30A. Most of the time we order steamed shrimp(which they steam right in the store) but on this trip we decided to bring some fresh shrimp home for a Low Country Boil. We usually visit the Goatfeathers East location but were leaving on Saturday morning and the original location opens an hour earlier than East so we stopped by to pick up our shrimp on the way back to Nashville. The attendant was very helpful in making recommendations for our cooking plans. We told him we would be in the car for about 8 hours so he made sure our shrimp was packed securely for the journey home. Once back in Nashville, we followed his instructions and had a very successful dinner. I think this will become a new tradition!

The Greek salad is to die for. Tons of olives, feta, & other goodies. Great dressing too. I love the water wall in this place. Plus our server was really great, very attentive. If you liked fried food, the pickles are good too !

I was so very disappointed with my choice to eat here. I ordered crab claws and oysters Rockefeller and neither were hot when they arrived or seasoned/cooked properly or with any amount of creativity. There are plenty of spots to eat on 30A. My advice — wait the hour it may take for a table at Red Bar, Café 30A or V. Don’t waste your money here!

Service was ok and friendly. Food was just average. Not much seasoning or flavor in the grilled grouper. The cheese grits were bland also. Portion sizes were smaller than expected for the price. Best value and flavor option was the Po’ boy sandwich.

When you walk in to go up the stairs, the carpet is kind of gross. Is it just old? Is it just dirty? Both? I was concerned. When we were seated the floor around our table and the chairs at our table were covered in crumbs. Our waiter was kind of a mess, he showed up friendly but untimely, and reeking of cigarettes. My friend’s order for coffee in early evening clearly threw him for a loop. Yet… my fried oysters and fries were surprisingly excellent. Our iced tea was good quality and refills came on time. My friend loved his fried seafood platter. My other friend loved her baked potato and grilled fish. The food was great! The Miami in the 80s inspired waterfall over the windows was quirky and a conversation starter. A rocky start but a good meal.

This was the worst seafood I’ve had and I love seafood. I got the crab platter and the crab legs were cold, the crab cake was horrible and the soft shell crab was very«fishy» tasting. And, I didn’t get a seafood cracker or seafood fork with my meal. And, I had to ask for a towelette after my meal. It was not worth the almost $ 34.00. It might be bearable if the atmosphere or service was decent, but it wasn’t. I was very disappointed and do not plan on ever returning.

Five stars. We were here twice on our vacation, once with a big group, with kids, and once with just three adults. Service and food were impeccable both times. Happy hour appetizer specials can’t be missed — coconut shrimp and onion rings are in a league of their own. Food was excellent. The kids menus have shrimp and fish options, not just the usual kid stuff. The grilled shrimp entrée and the catch of the day(grouper) were both fabulous. Big Chris is a great bartender and made us feel welcome. I recommend the Cajun Bloody Mary and the Pina Colada.

They were very knowledgeable on what to order for our taste. Everything was brought to us quickly. We have been here every time we visit the area. We will be back again. Thanks for the great service.

There is no way this restaurant deserves anything less than 5 stars. There were six of us and we stopped for a late lunch /early dinner. The restaurant is upstairs and overlooks the parking lot just like one reviewer indicated. However, the view isn’t of the parking lot really. The view is diffused with water running down the outside of the window similar to a waterfall. What a great idea is that? We thought it a nice effect. We were greeted and seated the instant we walked in. Shortly afterwards our excellent server arrived at the table to take our drink orders and then our meal order. Service was fast and efficient. Between us we ordered the seafood platter, shrimp and scallop pasta and even a french dip. We had a choice of salads before our meal. The salads were huge. Mine was the Greek salad and it was absolutely delicious. We all raved about our food. There was so much. We also raved about the huge onion rings served to the table next to us. This is a fantastic local place to eat. We loved the food, the service and even the name.

Okay I’m torn. I HAVE to downvote the place for at least one star because when we arrived nobody was at the front to greet us. Long enough that I had to get my phone out, go into the Unilocal app and call the business. That was the only thing that could bring someone to the front to greet us. Even waving my arms like Semaphore flags to staff passing by had no effect! However, when someone did arrive we were informed that there was a food allergy crisis going on. So one star back for that I guess? Our waitress was very friendly and attentive and from a service standpoint the rest of the evening was a success. Someone else mentioned the dipping butter to be abnormally rich. I completely agree. I don’t think it’s butter. I think it’s some kind of butter sauce. I don’t really recommend it. What I DO recommend though is the Goatfeathers Shrimp & Bay Scallops. Wow. That is some good stuff. Granted, 6 for 20 dollars seems a bit pricy, but taste wise, it was worth it. The better half got the GF’ Steam Platter which she enjoyed immensely(minus the weird tasting dipping«butter»). I’m really torn on the rating but I’ll give it 3 stars so I don’t seem like some Unilocal review a-hole that is just exacting some kind of revenge for having to stand around. Though I do recommend that in some future emergency, SOMEONE on the staff man the front and the food WAS good, so all in all, a recommendation for others.

Had pecan crusted grouper with cheese grits. It was good and fresh. Had hush puppies for appetizer. Good but a little spicy for me. Will come back.

Just moved to the neighborhood and have been here about seven times now. Have yet to have a disappointing meal, and all my guests have been completely satisfied. The portions are large, the food has always been excellent, and the staff has always been pleasant, and even tolerant when I brought some of my more rowdy friends in. :D There’s an elevator to take you to the second floor if you have troubles with stairs. The dining room looks out over a parking lot, but someone had a genius idea to feed water onto the large glass windows, so it always looks as if it’s raining outside. This is one of the best bangs for your buck in the area. While there are one or two places that are less expensive, the amount and quality of the food and service are worth the extra buck or two.

The wait for the table was to be expected but the wait for our food was about an hour which was outrageous! Our food was cold but we were so hungry, we didn’t send it back. The scallops were small and not filling… And cold. The grouper was over cooked… And cold. The service was a joke. Our server definitely was new and apparently has never even eaten at a restaurant. My sister ordered hush puppies. Since her meal came with two hush puppies already, the server didn’t seem to notice he completely forgot to give her her side order. When I complained to the manager about the wait for our food, he just said he’d check to see what was going on with the kitchen and ran off. I wouldn’t go back ever again!

One star just for the waitress she is the only thing good in this restaurant! The food is not good at all we were four people and all of us didn’t eat the food. The place as you will see if you go it’s so dirty and I mean it! I think they need to flip the whole restaurant and bring chef Robert Irvine to do it for them
