We have visited this area for many years and each time we make it a point to eat breakfast at Café Hibiscus. The oatmeal is fantastic as well as the Cinnamon Roll French Toast. We can’t wait to go again next summer.

Get the Cinnamon Roll French toast! Served with fresh fruit as a side. Definitely appreciate the QUALITY cup of coffee alongside the tasty food. Great hospitality and quaint décor. Perfect meal to start a day at the beach. Don’t forget to enter through the precious front door and check out the backyard courtyard while enjoying your food. Vintage and local atmosphere!

Lost its Charm… Service was unhelpful Food took 25 minutes to arrive and was COLD They used to have good portions with good food but now is skimpy and they are cheaping out on ingredients(waffles were made of cardboard with a little peanut butter on them… Ugh) Not enough of anything to make the experience enjoyable. I would recommend to stay away.

Very confused on the great reviews of this place. We ordered our food before the line got long and the few people working the café already seemed flustered and irritated. A glass of milk cost 3 dollars, if that gives you an idea how prices are. Not to mention that cup of milk was the size of a free water cup. We waited 45 minutes to get a fruit salad and two waffles, took them another 20 Minutes to bring out my frittata that I saw was premade, in a cooler, just waiting to be sliced and heated. Cute location but all staff seemed kinda lost. The food was mediocre, over priced, and servings were small. My tiny slice of frittata and sliced oranges with a few grapes cost $ 9. Not pleased. Will not be coming back.

Are expectations just really low in this area? I’m so confused by the overwhelmingly excellent reviews for Hibiscus, which now has me thinking I visited on a very off day. We walked in a half an hour or so after their opening time to find one server/hostess/chef. Yep, she was all things to all people. Coffee wasn’t ready. They were basically out of g-free options(which brought us there in the first place). It took thirty minutes to get our food and we were the first folks in the door(and later joined by maybe four other couples). I’m all for a quaint breakfast spot. I’ll take your mismatched furniture and 50’s tchotchkes. That’s adorable. And heck, the server/hostess/chef was as friendly as she could be while explaining that half of the menu was off limits. But at some point, maybe while waiting for our food or encountering a less than clean table, quaint was cast aside and I just couldn’t wait to wrap it up.

Adorable little spot. Order at the counter. Love the garden area in the back! Amazing food! Tried the Mediterranean frittata, cinnamon roll French toast and the waffle — all great and highly recommended! A little pricey for breakfast but unique! Will definitely return!

Our wedding reception was at the HIbiscus a few weeks ago and it was absolutely perfect. Stephanie and Colin are hands down two of the most wonderful people on the planet. From day one of planning they were both incredibly helpful and easy to work with — and I only visited them once in person before the big day since we live in Dallas. All of our friends and family that stayed at the Hibiscus for the wedding weekend had a wonderful time and continue to tell us how much they enjoyed their stay, all their food and the reception space. Stephanie was very helpful with supplying me vendors to call for cake, chairs, tents, music, etc and always promptly and professionally responded to my calls and emails. Each of the guest rooms are unique and we loved getting to see each room our friends/family stayed in. They are all so much fun and we love the old Florida feel. Colin, the Café chef, was wonderful to work with and went out of his way to cater to my vegetarian diet and my sister’s gluten free diet. Colin also prepared breakfast for about 13 family members the morning of the wedding. It was beautifully prepared and decorated in the Backyard of Love space. Our reception food was incredible and everyone went out of their way to let us know they enjoyed it. We also very much enjoyed Sunday Brunch — the music, the food and the atmosphere. I cannot say enough good things about the Hibiscus, the Café, and their entire team — everyone is so friendly and helpful. We will be back soon to see you guys — not soon enough, but soon!
