This store is special because of it’s simplicity. I appreciated the straightforward approach to this store, instead of having too many choices they present the best of the best.
As you approach the front door of the air conditioned portion Bastide, you walk through a nursery of exquisite plants. Your option for a Boxwood plant is simple: big, beautiful, healthy, and almost perfect. Your option for a Gardenia plant is simple: big, beautiful, healthy, and perfect. This motif is carried into the store as well.
Instead of too many options for soap, candles, towels, accessories, etc, they have narrowed the options for you… only the best is offered at Bastide.
My wife hits this place a few times a year to «window shop» and I understand why! It’s a really nice store. Shew! Thanks to Dave Ramsey, we don’t have credit cards… otherwise Visa would be in love with us after left today.
My favorite item was one seemed to be the most special, an icon framed in a vintage frame. Wow! It was really nice.
By the way, this place is located behind Elmo’s Grill (a nice little seafood shack).
