Had to take a special trip to my hometown of Santa Paula and we decided to eat somewhere else instead our regular spot. Let me start by saying home made corn tortillas rock!!! I got their two soft tacos with beans and rice and it was delicious. I asked the guy in the front counter were they buy their tortillas and he said they make them fresh only on the weekends. I also got a orchata drink with my meal. It was not watered down like some other restaurants it tasted really good. I would for sure return back to this wonderful little restaurant… Here is a little history about the building. It used to be a Taco Bell many years ago. Cool!

I happened to be in Santa Paula around lunchtime and stopped in here. I was really impressed with the food and the service. I’m not a big fan of cilantro and really liked the salsa because he didn’t have a lot of cilantro in it. The next time I’m in Santa Paula looking for a good place to eat I will definitely stop in here again.

Don’t know much about wifi tv or the rest of today’s culture but if you sit on the front patio and watch the oldies go by you get a glimpse off real live history without the interference of social media. My next time I am there I will not get over excited I will pause and photo bomb my food before devoting, make sure to order the fresh Chicharrones!!! A

I’ve been coming here for YEARS! I moved over 10 years ago, but whenever I’m in town I have the hard-shelled chicken tacos(finger-licking-good). The restaurant is always clean and has a cute little outdoor patio you can enjoy your food and the view of Main St. It’s a great place to bring the family and at a good price. I wish they had a salsa bar, with ‘rabanos’ and ‘pepinos’ and that would be the cherry on top, but other than that, I got to say I love this place :)

It was a nice little place with friendly employees. However the nachos arrived cold and were not that good. The cheese was oddly melted and the chips were stale. The jalapeños tasted like they were sitting out all day. Maybe I will give it a second chance.

Overall a variety of good food, inexpensive descent service. I’ve been coming to this location with the fam for years now. I don’t understand why others critic it as being expensive. You get a great amount of food for what you pay. They now have a guy playing music inside which for me is a bust. I enjoy having conversations with the people I go with but because of the music that’s hard to have. I prefer not listening to music or karaōke while eating out. They do offer the option to eat inside or out. So on those warm sunny days it works great eating outside. I love that when you walk in their menu is pictures of the meals. You’re not wondering what it has or what it may look like. I’ve tried pretty much all the dishes on the menu but by far my favorite would be the tostada suprema and cóctel de camarón y pulpo. Their crunchy tacos with chicken meat have become my guilty pleasure there. This place has become a favorite of mine! I rather drive from Oxnard to Santa Paula than eat somewhere in Oxnard :)

I went here Monday evening 5÷6÷13. I ordered several burritos to take home for my family to try them out. We did a taste test at home, cutting up the burritos and sampling them. The carne asada was good. However, the rest of them were below my expectations. The carnitas was bland, the chili relleno burrito was also bland. The al pastor was dry and almost burned. I actually wondered if they gave me the old dried up meat that had been sitting there all day or what? Pretty disappointing to spend $ 28 on bland/dry food. El Taco De Mexico in Ventura is still my favorite place. I am trying to find other good authentic mexican food and La Terraza is off my list.

The food is great but the prices have gone up since I’ve last been here. The chips are always stale and from a bag.

We stop here frequently when we drive through Santa Paula. I’ve enjoyed their cheese enchiladas, shrimp tacos with fresh guac, and chile rellenos numerous times and am always pleased with the food. Their patio is a nice place to sit and enjoy old town Santa Paula. The menu choices are almost overwhelming. Try their wet burritos if you are looking for a huge quantity of food!

This is one of my favorite places within walking distance of my house. I’ve tried several items on the menu, taquitos with guacamole, torta, veggie burrito, soft tacos, hard shell tacos, enchiladas, beans, rice, and more I’m sure I can’t remember. Overall, it’s good, very fresh and not heavy with grease like how some places can be. The first time I went they forgot to put 2 tacos with our order, when I got home and realized I called them and when I went back, got the tacos with no problems. I’m not a huge fan of the tortas here, pretty dry and not very flavorful. BUT! What truly sets this place apart is the hard shell tacos, especially if you get chicken. These are incredible, so so moist and juicy, lots of flavor, and the hard shell is deep fried but still light and crispy. I could eat these every day and not get sick of them. Also the salsa is really tasty. Can’t wait to try more items from here!

After the thrill of riding the Fillmore Western Railway into Santa Paula(p’shaw) we needed a surprise gem and this place was it. Huge menu, and everything we had ranged from good to great. My Mom had a combination with crispy ground beef tacos, and my daughter had a cheese quesadilla, and both gave rave reviews. My wife had asada tacos, which she didn’t like at first because they smelled like beef(yeah, I know, I can’t take her anywhere), but when I tasted one I was hugely impressed. My usual impression of asada is it’s dry and bland, but this was moist and well seasoned and honestly the best asada taco I’ve personally encountered. Anyway, after my favorable judgement my wife seemed to like it a little better. I myself had pastor tacos which were terrific in spite of being a little dry, and a huarache with carnitas which was also good, but needed dousing with salsa to really take off. The huaraches I’ve had before were kinda small, so I was happy to find the one you get here is a plate filling monster(although my wife was pissed off at me for being a piggyboi. Ha!). The staff were all great, and the cholos driving by provided the appropriate musical accompaniment to our meal. I’m eager to return and try a torta and a chile verde burrito. But I’ll use my car to get to Santa Paula next time, thank you very much.

This is the place i have been going when ever I have to work in Santa Paula. I always get my lunch here and it seems that it has it’s local clientele. The food is OK. The first time I went I had a torta. It would be good but the beans they have are a little bland. They like to put beans into the torta so it kind of steals from the flavor of the avocados, lettuce, onion, tomatoes and jalapenos. I had fish tacos, and they were not that good. Their fish was good, however it did not have the sauce that most fish tacos have, and it tasted really bland. I’ll give it three starts because the staff is friendly and the food is not that bad(not the best, but not that bad). They also have a good selection of food. From caldos to burritos, to tostadas de ceviche. So the selection is big.
