Urban Leather

Shopping on the Westside can sometimes be a bit distressing for me. I guess I’m so firmly lodged in the middle class, that sometimes the prices and the pretension can be overwhelming. Not to say that other parts of the greater Southern California area aren’t equally pretentious: trust me, the suburbs ain’t much better. So imagine my delight at finding a store that sells quality leather goods, with none of the pretension and fair prices. I was seeking an all-​leather satchel, since all of my «vegan» (they used to just call it cheap plastic) purses break during a 6-​month period. Cut to me nearly fainting at the price of a Louis Vuitton bag (cough, cough). I was ready to give up and crawl back to Forever 21. Enter Urban Leather. The attendant (owner?) was knowledgeable, friendly, and down-​to-​earth. The selection is extensive. I found a practical and attractive leather satchel, complete with all the outer compartments I sought. And it was only $ 140. Hubby picked up a slick wallet for $ 26. The kids were even pleased with the vibe, and they hate shopping. I will not hesitate to return if in need of more leather goods. A delightful gem of a shop!

I came into this leather store unexpectedly after walking around the new mall in Santa Monica. I saw some beautiful jackets in the window and decided to check it out even though I knew I wasn’t going to buy anything. I figured it would be way out of my budget. Boy was I wrong! I found the best deals — I couldn’t believe how low the jackets and luggage were priced. I got 2 leather jackets and luggage. The selection was big enough and the merchandise was beautiful. Fantastic quality at an affordable cost. The employee was extremely helpful and never made me feel any pressure to purchase. I will probably go back when I need some leather accessories. This place is a gem.
