great vegan cheep thai food with free delivery. It is hard to top that. Everything is really good but be warned spicy is pretty spicy here. They have a small parking lot but there is also street parking.

Love this place! Their Pad Thai is the best and the Tom Kha soup is good! I would give it 5 stars if their tofu was organic but it is not so I just opt out of adding it to my food. Prices are reasonable and they also have fresh coconut water straight out of the coconut! The place looks a little divey but it definitely cute for a quick meal and hanging out.

I tried eating healthy but I’ve never felt so depressed eating in my life. Such a strange restaurant. Don’t know how it exists. Food is very bland. I’d rather eat McDonald’s. And that says a lot.

Still my favorite low-key spot to grab a quick mid-week bite. The food is consistent, fresh, light and delicious. The service is great and fast. The Thai iced tea and coconut Popsicles are highlights.

Often times vegan food is plain gross but this vegan food was . I ordered delivery, and of course since I’m a lonely single person I had to order two entrees so that I would make the delivery minimum, but then I can snack on them for a couple days which makes your taste buds eventually hate Thai food but I digress. I got vegan pad thai and vegan green curry. Major gripe about this place is that everything has tofu in it – not just vegetables. Word from the wise: tofu is gross in almost 100% of its iterations, and having to eat tofu entrees is this vegetarian’s nightmare. Flavors were good, all tofu aside, and I would order from this place again for sure.

This has been our«go to» spot for 3 years when we’re out and about. Fresh, yummy, quick vegan Thai food. And now you have the option of adding faux fish to your pad Thai. Noodles, curries, and even fresh coconuts. Parking sucks but parking sucks almost everywhere in SM.

I eat here often, and the food is very delicious. I’ve noticed some other reviews saying that the service is poor, but honestly, maybe those people were just rude to them? I’m always polite to servers, and the folks who work there have always been polite and pleasant in return. As a server myself, I know that more often than not, when someone complains of poor service on Unilocal,it is because their expectations are not within reason(or not stated), or they were rude to the workers. So, my experiences with the quality of service here have been good, with the sole the exception of calling in for delivery. I live within their radius of delivery, just at the outer edge; their maximum is a radius of three miles, and I live 2.8 miles from them, according to google maps. Three times now I’ve tried to call for delivery, and they flatly refuse to deliver to my location. Very disappointing. I was really sweet on the phone, and I tried to explain that my home is in fact not outside of their radius according to their website, but the woman I spoke with(it may have been the same woman each time, in fact) was very short and very rude. It seems to be a simple thing. I really do live within the area they claim to deliver, and yet they will not be accommodating… I’m not even sure if it counts as «being accommodating», since I’m not asking that they go above and beyond or make an exception. It’s stated clearly on their website. Anyway, don’t be discouraged from checking them out or returning to this restaurant. The food is delicious, and although their prices have risen, it’s probably still the cheapest Thai food you’ll find in the city(while maintaining standards of quality). I wanna state also that I usually order the Yellow Curry with rice, and the Peanut Satay, and their Thai tea. All of it is flavorful and consistent.

I’ve never actually written a Unilocal review but after eating here I needed to say something. Me and my boyfriend decided to order delivery– which took less time than they said so that was definitely good. We ordered Thai iced tea, which was pretty awful. They didn’t put enough milk at all and it tasted watered down. Maybe it’d be better in the restaurant? But I’ve eaten at tons of Thai places and it’s pretty hard to get this wrong so it was already a bad sign. We also got pad see yew. It was so ridiculously bland. Pad see yew is my go to meal at Thai restaurants and this place has the blandest flavor for sure. We even told them to make it a bit spicy so I’m not sure how it would’ve tasted if we hadn’t said anything. The only thing that was a little satisfactory was the Tom kha soup. But it had a very random combination of vegetables that I don’t usually see in tom kha, but it wasn’t bad. VERYLITTLE quantity though. Overall, it sucked. Not sure why it has such high reviews. Really cool that they have vegan options but the food is very bland and very small servings. Don’t go here if you’re really into Thai food.

Living an hour away, I try to select LA eateries vERY carefully so I don’t get disappointed. I try to overlook service and I just focus on the food and ambiance(unless the service is really shitty cough). Ambiance: 4⁄5 Looks a bit eclectic and off putting, at first imo, but once you sit down, the area feels pretty comfortable and cozy. On a chilly LA night(Dec. 5 is when I visited Thai Vegan before heading to Third Street Promenade), the inside is comfortable in terms of temperature. The set up is kind of tilted, but do not worry, you won’t slip out of your seat! There’s also a lot of choices that are set up community styled. Food: 4⁄5 My friend and I ordered Thai Spicy wraps with rice paper instead of bean blankie($ 6) and Pad Thai($ 8). To my surprise, there were only 2 wraps. I mean, they were p packed, but only 2 for $ 6? Kind of disappointing, but the taste was not. If you decide order this, your little brown box of Thai Spicy wrap comes with 2 rolls(either rice paper or bean blankie), a big sauce container of peanut sauce, and a medium-sized sauce container of green spicy salsa(???) idk what it’s called. Very delicious! If you are not a fan of spicy, don’t dabble with the green sauce. You’ll probably cry like my friend who but this stiff, mysterious cube found in the green sauce and was in searing pain. I had no issue with the sauce, cuz I like spicy. As for the Pad Thai, wOwie maui!!! Deloicious(° °) and a big portion for only $ 8. Pretty slick deal. My friend and I were extremely satisfied with sharing this. I have no issues with vegan food for a meat-loving gorl, and this Vegan Pad Thai did not disappoint. Someone who was in line behind me told me that their Pad Thai was«bomb!!!» And I’m glad I took his recommendation. Service: 2⁄5 Again, not going to count this in the stars, BUT it has to be discussed. The two ladies that were assisting me were not very helpful in helping me decide between Pad Thai, spicy mint noodle, and Pad See Ew. They literally could not care that I was having difficulty deciding on a dish. And just left me there hanging. /: Luckily, service was available in this area so I took to Unilocal to help me decide. Not the nicest ladies, but whatever, I was in an extremely good mood that day(getting pumped for Purity Ring later that night), so they didn’t bother me as much.

So I’ve noticed that a few of the bad reviews talk about the service. I’ve never actually eaten in the restaurant so I can’t speak to that. As for the food itself, it’s really solid and the prices are cheaper than I would expect to find in this part of Santa Monica. My recommendations: Thai Spicy Wrap Pad Thai Spicy Mint Noodles Yellow Curry

Exactly what I want out of a Thai place! If you’re not a vegan, fear not, there’s nothing pretentious about this place and the flavor is on point– even without the meat. They have soy meat options if you’re into that, but I usually just take the tofu and veggies. So far I’ve tried the pad Thai, the fresh rolls, and three kinds of curry. All were delicious. I like not having to ask strategic questions to find out if dishes contain fish sauce, etc. And the dairy-free Thai iced coffee is so good! I usually get that to drink or a young coconut with the pulp as dessert. Ha! I love how the prices here are on the low side while the quality is on the high side. Especially for Santa Monica, the prices are very reasonable. The inside of the restaurant is kinda small and quirky. There are a couple of tables outside(and dogs are welcome) and there’s enough parking for maybe six cars in the tiny lot outside, so be ready to find street parking. I’ve eaten here a few times and recently ordered delivery from them. It was a Saturday night, so they said it’d take an hour. so I hopped in the shower and I looked at my phone and saw I missed 3 calls. Oops! I guess 30 minutes was the actual delivery time. I called back and apologized and they didn’t make me feel like crap about it(we tipped well when they came back!) They packed everything wisely for the delivery too; no shifting around. This is my favorite Thai spot right now. So good!

I have eaten here so many times, and I would never say that the service has been overly friendly. The one day the waitstaff actually smiled at me I almost fell off my wicker stool. Having said that, who cares? The food is great, the service quick, and all reasonably priced. The location is perfect if you want a quick bite before heading out for a drink on Main Street or a short walk to the Pier, there are plenty of options to satisfy meat-eaters and non meat-eaters(from the hungry carnivores I’ve taken along), and the fact that it’s yet another vegan menu, so I don’t need to run staff through the Spanish Inquisition(nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition…) makes it a terrific go-to for me. I’ve also had delivery from here and the food has arrived as ordered and still nice and hot — and now that I’m thinking about it I might just order something right now…

I only tried one thing, the sweet and sour tofu, and it was horrible. When I asked if I could send it back they refused me. I don’t know if anything else here is good, but absolutely horrible customer service

Food’s as good as any other Thai place, some items are a bit overpriced but service is horrendously bad. They do not speak English or just aren’t interested, as it seems, and they’re rude. Ask a question and they act as if you walked up to them in the street with a large map opened in both hands. After ordering, you’ll also notice other people try to negotiate a conversation during their ordering. It begins to feel like you’re appeasing(begging) N Korean authorities for a safe exit, just to get an answer or remote interest. Cross the street, everything’s better. I’ve been here many many times because they’re open late and in a great area but I’ll do my best to go elsewhere from now.

We shared a Thai Green Curry with Brown Rice. The good: It was enough for the 2 of us, as we had just eaten a snack. The curry is sweet & the basil is fresh! I love green curry, so it definitely satisfied that craving. If you’re vegan, it looks like there’s a wide selection of food to choose from. And they have brown rice, so that’s always a plus! The staff is friendly, too. The curry was $ 6.50 and the brown rice was about $ 2 more, with a post-tax price of $ 9.50. The bad: It is quite a small portion if you’re sharing. The tofu was nothing special — it existed(I’m not a vegan, by the way, so this is just me being biased). The brown rice was a bit rubbery, but okay to eat. The bowls are sturdy, but the paper plates(to share the meal) aren’t the sexiest — at least they gave us 2 plates per person. The bathrooms are impossible to find unless you ask exactly where they are — it doesn’t make sense the first time around. The recommended: If you’re in the area & you’re looking for something to eat, definitely go here. We got our order in about 5 minutes. The food is good enough to try, and while they are lacking in amenities, I think they have a wide enough selection to appease most vegetarian-friendly people.

Great place! Very green and lots of wooden furniture. It’s a bit small and the outside tables are a little cramped with the parking lot tables but still enjoyable. The bathroom is outside, you have to get a key and walk out a couple of stores away. The food is delicious. I had the Pad thai for 8 $. The price is reasonable and it’s all vegetarian! I had the Orange juice, it was delicious but 4 $ is a bit expensive. Overall it’s a great little small business, great food in a great place.

A little hole-in-the-wall I randomly spotted while walking down this street. I’m glad I did! I was a bit hesitant about eating here after seeing the Grade B health rating but I decided to overlook that and hope for the best. This place is college-student friendly! Open late, and fairly cheap! The food was so tasty and flavorful! I’m not vegan but I couldn’t even tell the difference! I’m so happy I stumbled upon this place. I don’t normally get curries at Thai places(I usually go for noodles), but I tried my sister’s Massuman curry and it was uhmazinggg! I was so jealous of her food haha. So I will definitely get that the next time I’m in the SM area. Highly recommended! Shall be back!

The selection isn’t very large, but I love that everything is vegan here. With the detrimental, environmental impact of the meat industry in America, we need more food establishments offering meat substitutes to minimize its impact. Meat is good, but only when it’s handled responsibly and in respect to the earth upon which it was raised.(Such as grass-fed beef) Anyway, I had one of the soups and it was alright. I say to stay away from the«meat» because its texture is kinda weird(which isn’t the restaurant’s fault)… but the flavor was kinda bland. I think vegan Indian food is more flavorful because they use stronger spices which compensate for the lack of fat. But there are better dishes to try; don’t let me detract you from going, haha. It’s definitely worth visiting for a taste of Thai culture while supporting a healthy industry.

Looking for something quick, vegetarian, cheap after a long day of moving… score! Felt like I was at an outdoor food stand in asia(adds to the ambiance). Grade B(TBDGI results). A bit grungey, definition of a hole in the wall. Parking lot available! We got green tofu curry with brown rice and the pad thai. Loved having the brown rice option. Fresh veggies and lots of it, flavorful, fast, cheap. My mom was impressed and that is saying a LOT. She hates everything. Also, 2 hours later, I don’t feel the post MSG thirst, which is always a positive. Will definitely be back!
