My friends and I really enjoyed breakfast here. It’s located in Hotel Casa Del Mar, which has a lovely ocean front view of Santa Monica beach. The server we had was very accommodating and kind. I really really enjoyed and highly recommend the Ricotta Pancakes for any one with a gluten allergy or anyone at all really. One of the best gluten free pancakes I’ve tried so far. Very happy with my selection!

The food is terrible! It’s such a SHAME because the atmosphere is so beautiful. But the food is HORRIFIC! Plated like a cheap dinner — unseasoned, limp and completely uninspired: is how I would describe my meal. They need to put some love into that kitchen and do better. It was really very awful. Never going back for a meal.

I’ve eaten at this restaurant three times in the last three years — this is perhaps my vote for most overrated restaurant of all time. For breakfast, I suggest you stay away from the pastrami hash at all costs. the last time I had it, it was swimming in grease. almost a centimeter of grease at the bottom of the cast iron skillet the dish is served in. I had indigestion for weeks after attempting to eat it. This restaurant is on the beach & and expensive as hell — so it must be good! ;) Most of the food ranges from nondescript to pretty good, but some items are outrageously overpriced for the quality(had a fruit plate that cost four times what the same amount of pre-cut fruit would cost at Ralph’s, and the quality at Ralph’s was superior). Most of the food here is worth closer to three stars, but the abomination that was the pastrami hash had me feeling like I was at death’s door — I can’t justify giving this place anything other than one star. I’ve had competent service every time I visited Terrazza, but nothing special. This place will make money no matter what due to the location, reputation among tourists, and upscale clientele at Casa del Mar — many other local restaurants deserve your business much more!

Service excellent 5, ambiance excellent 5, food 3, nothing to write home about it. Average quality, nothing impressive. Let me just say if you are going to charge $ 7 for a croissant, let it be fresh made and not a day old or so.

I love coming here for a drink and appetizers, especially around sunset. The window seats have a great view of the beach and their drinks menu is decent. But, the recent changes to the décor have really turned me off. Why anyone would drag palms and beach furniture into a place that offers panoramic views of the same out the window is beyond me. If you want have a place like this in Fairbanks, AK, by all means decorate it with all the palms you like, and spruce it up with deck chairs and sun-loungers. But, here by the beach in Southern California, where we are flooded with the stuff when we step out? I don’t get it. Getting rid of the old-world library feeling of the previous décor was a big mistake. It went perfectly with the style of the beautiful, regal building. Still, the view and the location make it worth a visit.

I hosted my 20th birthday breakfast here. I made reservations for 9:30am and when my friends and I arrived at the restaurant, we were amazed by the beautiful ocean view. In my opinion the food was tasty but mediocre. One of my waiters looked as if he was annoyed at our table because we had a big party of about 15 people. I ordered the Ricotta pancakes priced at $ 18. The pancakes came with organic blueberries and warm maple syrup on the side which tasted delicious. Our table was filled with mini jars of jams and plants that had a great scent. I love how the restaurant gave me complimentary dessert in honor of my birthday. I will definitely come back but next time with my family!

Food wise this place is 3 stars(with overpriced food) But honestly what people actually come here for is the view and the cute decorations. Their tables and assortment of chairs felt like I was at a luxury beach-home and the the overflow of greenery gave it an outdoorsy feel. The eggs were mediocre and the portion of lox was way too small but my friend got the blackberry French toast which I tried and really liked(but if your looking for an overly sweet one this isn’t the right French toast for u). All in all the food isn’t bad just nothing special but it’s the perfect place to come for a Sunday brunch with a date(but it will end up a bit pricy).

Sunday brunch is underwhelming. $ 34 fixed price menu for two courses(no beverages included). Small portion sizes, mediocre food and almost non existent service. Was hoping for a better experience. View is amazing, but nothing you can’t get by walking outside.

Went here for breakfast and dinner while staying at the Casa del Mar. The selection of food is very good and the service is very attentive. Overall tasty food and a great view of the Santa Monica Pier. In the evening this place is buzzing.

One of the best experiences I’ve had at a hotel restaurant for brunch. Beautiful landscapes. Ocean views. Not a lot of noise. I had a party of 26 people and everyone had a great time. The Dungeness Crab Florentine was a total fave.

The restaurant is beautiful! Situated on the Santa Monica beach, this restaurant brings back fond memories of traveling to Southern Europe… FOOD: 4⁄5 I’m still confused if Casa del Mar is Spanish or Italian themed, but I’m fairly certain Terrazza is an Italian restaurant. I came here with a large group for lunch, so we tried out a variety of appetizers — including shrimp cocktail, beet salad, fried artichoke, and bruschetta. They were all very good, but the bruschetta with arugula and burrata was amazing. For my entrée, I had dungeness crab eggs florentine. It was decent but not as good as the bruschetta! I regret not asking for a side of fruits, as the potato side was a bit too heavy when added to the eggs and crab. SERVICE: 4⁄5 Our waiter was very friendly, and props to him for taking care of a 20+ person table. I came a bit late and wasn’t offered water. It was more so my fault for not being needy, but I kind of wished that he came over and offered. AMBIANCE: 5⁄5 I think this would be my main motivation to come back. The restaurant is right on the Santa Monica beach, on the second floor of the hotel. You get a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean. If reservations are allowed, I would 100% request the few tables right by the windows. I think this might be a beautiful place to watch the sunset or have dinner with a view of the pier. The hotel overall is also beautiful!

More of a 3.5 but is a pretty solid place, albeit rather expensive. Great place to meet people from out of town or take work meetings. The view is gorgeous. On a nice day you can see really far out and can even see the roller coaster on the pier running. However, if you sit right next to the windows during the day you will be blinded. Food is solid but as I said before, I think it’s expensive for what it is. However, it’s located inside of the Casa Del Mar Hotel and hotel food is always expensive. Random but they serve sushi after a certain hour. Unfortunately they don’t have veggie tempura(although they do have shrimp tempura). They have live music playing in the lobby sometimes and it can cause it to get a bit loud but it’s always a great, fun band playing. I’ve always been able to get a table without a reservation but you might need one if you come at the height of a lunch/dinner service. Brunch looks good here and I would like to try it.

My brother and husband brought me here one night after telling them I had just finished a particularly hard day at work. It was one of the best meals of my life! We sat in the reatauraunt area and had the most amazing view! I would have thought the views alone were worth the price but then the drinks came out and after that the food and then after that the desserts and I just couldn’t believe how each step would one up the next! The service was outstanding. We need to thank Greg babarovic, the hotel manager for giving us recommendations and really being part of the reason we have kept on coming back. Recently I really enjoy having tea in the mornings overlooking this unbeatable view with my mom. It has become our mother daughter special thing we do. I am so grateful to live near and get to experience this hotel and dining experience as often as I have been able to.

We came for brunch. My GF, and our friend split The Spanish omelet-good not great Lox bagel-good-ginormous portion(big enough to share) coffee was good– but too expensive, at 8.95 for a pot!!! The renovation is pretty nice, and the view is just as good as ever. But I did not like the new menu that much. And some items are very costly!

I came here on a Friday afternoon for a «work meeting.» We had a reservation so we were seated immediately. I was immediately drawn to the 10 foot Fiddleleaf figs and the floor to ceiling glass window panels providing a peekaboo view of the carnival on the Santa Monica pier. It’s a great venue for a baby shower, birthday, or casual lunch with friends. I’m definitely celebrating my 29th birthday here next year! Do yourself a favor and if you ever come here, order the bucatini pomodoro. Absolutely divine yet so simple and the highlight of this restaurant. The pizzas are also pretty tasty. We ordered the mushroom and margarita pizzas and both were pretty good. The kale salad was also phenomenal. The reason the restaurant only gets four stars is because there’s no «munchies» when you sit down and the desserts were lacking. Given that this place is so high end, we expected to get a bread basket or something to nibble on especially since the food seemed like it took forever to come out. But we didn’t — even after asking for some bread. Re: the deserts: We ordered the cookie sampler with a hot chocolate shooter after the waiter told us that the cookies would be soft — they were most definitely not. They were crunchy. Ugh. Also, the hot chocolate was cold and tasted nothing like hot chocolate. Like literally had no resemblance to hot chocolate at all. I’m still curious to know what it was. We also had the pistachio cake which was a little dry. Overall, I would still come again and just ask for munchies and avoid the desserts. I still had a wonderful time. The Oceanview is simply beautiful.

Went here on a Friday night, to meet up with my girlfriends and listen to the live band that night(Leftover Cuties –Good vibe, if you haven’t heard their stuff). BTW, it wasn’t a recent Friday night, as I had to re-post this review for Terrazza(the Casa Del Mar’s bar/lounge and not the actual hotel-Just FYI). Seemed like a busy night, bustling with people(crowd seemed mostly in their 30+ age range), most seats were full, some couples dancing… as I recall a date took me here for a drink, long ago, and the place was dead(I think it was a Thursday night). We sat at the bar and ordered drinks. I had a glass of Riesling $ 15 –nothing special, so I can’t judge the bartender on his drink making skills. Although, it was a good sized pour for $ 15 a glass. Sitting at the bar, earns you and your group a free, FRESH bowl of kettle chips to snack on. I’m not fond of «community» food, as I question the general public’s cleanliness and frequency of hand-washing, so I appreciated the fresh bowl of kettle chips.

I always thought this hotel bar/lounge’s central area was just considered the Casa del Mar’s hotel lounge, but apparently it’s named Terrazza on my latest visit. Or I might be wrong and Terrazza is the restaurant on the left side of the hotel lounge & services the food in the lounge as well, albeit being a separate establishment. If you’re looking to take a date or a group of friends for a drink to wind down the afternoon, this is a good place to swing by. For drinks, there’s a emphasis on wine & a page worth of cocktails. You can pretty much forget about draft beer since everything is mostly bottled. Can’t comment on the food since I didn’t order any but the service in the lounge area was on point. Either way, come by for a great view of the ocean while having a cocktail, slightly far enough away from the Santa Monica pier to not be looking at large crowds of people, thus allowing you to actually take in the beach view.

View of the ocean adds a lot of value to this place. Also, friendly hostesses and rich menu(s) are other advantages of this place. So far, we have tried pizza, soups and Tiramisu and of course wines. All great! I definitely recommend this place if you are having a date, if you are having a gathering with a few friends or if you are just by yourself and would like to have a cup of coffee.
