This place was is wonderful. The staff is super friendly and kind. When we walked through the door, they immediately welcomed us. The egg/croissant/fruit dish was amazing. The Americano was nice and strong(exactly how I like it)! Felt like we were in Europe. Great vibes. Thank you!

Delicious fresh good! Fantastic espresso and friendly owners. European style — interesting specials and perfect portions. This restaurant must be new because there were open tables and very quiet but the food is absolutely delicious. You must go! Once this place is discovered it will be hard to get a table.

We had a nice brunch, right quantities and not greasy. The place is nice and clean, but very expensive. Don’t waste your money on a almond milk cappuccino: worse ever. The service is bad: the waiters are not friendly at all!

Should’ve known by the name this would be a real Italian café. And indeed we think we were the only ones speaking English in there. We think maybe all the classy Italians in town moved in near here just because of Spazzio. The lattes were LEGIT. I got a double with carmel, and I’m pretty sure it was REAL carmel. It was so rich and creamy and the espresso was perfectly made. Served with a little biscuit(cookie), classic European style. And they were really friendly, and had Italian accents, which I’m pretty sure were real, even though this is LA after all haha.

What a pleasant surprise! The chef is from our favorite Hungarian restaurant in the Valley called Hotobagy which closed a while back after 30 years of the best Hungarian food in LA. Went there for a Mother’s day family party and they served us wonderful Hungarian specialties in this cute little Italian café. We will be coming back often. If you have never had chicken paprikash, veal goulash and stuffed peppers give them a try. They will even do Hungarian duck if you call in advance. The guys here really aim to please. I highly recommend it.

A true Italian café! We were one of only 2 tables speaking English so we knew it’d be good, but then we got our drinks & our suspicions were confirmed. We both got Latte Macchiatos which were INCREDIBLE – my husband thinks his had real carmel in it. They come with the long spoon & a little cookie on the side which I assume is an Italian thing. The owner is extremely friendly & helpful, and Italian as well. Atmosphere is great – cute décor, open feel, outdoor seating, and it smells fantastic. They have a pretty big food menu, and 19 different kinds of hot chocolate, as well as the typical espresso drinks and some coffee specialties, and lots of teas(although he want familiar with a London Fog.) We will definitely be back!

Cute sidewalk café located in sunny, breezy Santa Monica. Perfect stop for an afternoon walk and quick cup of coffee or tea. On the day we stopped in, they were out of chai unfortunately. So I opted for a rooibos tea with honey. The mozzarella and walnut salad I chose was plenty to share with someone. Street parking only — metered unless you adventure into the neighborhoods. Cute shops line the area and it’s doggie friendly as well.

They didn’t have ice blended drinks, I was disappointed, ordered sandwich, with delicious egg inside, a lil bit hard bread, fear prices, packing problems, very nice area, will come back

I came here for brunch with one of my friends and we had a great time. It isn’t a typical brunch place where you are waited on. It is more of a casual café where you order at the front and bring you your food. What drew me here was the amount of hot chocolate flavors they have. I got the almond hot chocolate which was amazing. I also got the granola and yogurt which was very nicely presented and was filling. My friend got the eggs and something else which she said was good. The hot chocolate is kinda pricy at over 4 bucks but I think it is worth it given the quality and flavors. It was nice to sit around for awhile unrushed and catching up. Parking is an issue around there because it is busy and only street parking, but we managed!

Sometimes I get lazy to write a review but not this time! This place is amazing and I can’t wait to come back! Me and my girlfriend had brunch there yesterday. We ordered: 1. Omelette sandwich with zucchini, fontina cheese and prosciutto on a Rustic brad to share and we loved it! Brad was very crispy and I don’t think I’ve tried fontina cheese before but it gave sandwich a nice flavor. Also my friend said that the omelette was of the best she ever tried. 2. Nutella and strawberry crepes. Perfect amount of sweetness. Although my friend made a comment that strawberries could be fresher I think they didn’t seem old or not fresh to me. Next time I want to try crepes with ricotta cheese and raisins. Sounds interesting! 3. Latte Macchiato was foamy but not as exciting to me. I wanted to try specialty coffees but they come in a small glass. Maybe next time? The best part was that we paid for our branch just 30 $ for 2 people together! I think it’s pretty impressive for the amount of food we got and the quality of it. And yet they have friendly and helpful staff which sometimes you can’t find in a fancy restaurant. Parking was not a problem on a Saturday afternoon. There’s a 2 hour street parking in residential area. Overall, great experience and I’ll come back!

Spazio caffe is an Italian gourmet coffee shop with modern European interiors offering a great selection of espresso, hot chocolates and teas. I was surprised to count around 18 different varieties of hot chocolates on the menu. They also offer a great variety of breakfast and lunch options. I decided to get an almond hot chocolate and probably that was the best hot chocolate I’ve ever had. At the very first sip you can feel the richness of the high quality cocoa used and they have little chunks of almonds in there making it a perfectly balanced hot drink. I will definitely come back to try more flavors of their hot chocolate, coffee and food.

Strawberry dark hot chocolate– This hottie made my day! Its one little heaven in this cup, that instantaneous feel when I sipped it — strawberry and chocolate — woaahh !!! Its super thick that I had to eat it with spoon and super hot. That’s a cookie on top of the cup, which I dipped in hot chocolate and ate as I wait for it to cool down. Taste is way exceptional! Not sure how many so called best hot chocolates are out there in this city but I call this the best ever !! Cant wait to try the rest of the flavors– blown away to hear that they have 18 of them in total ! The walnut bread egg sandwich tasted okay, cant really quote anything special about it, except for the crunchy walnut bread, was good ! If you live in LosAngeles and like hot chocolates — dont miss this place !! :)

Fantastic spot, very modern décor, lots of space inside, delicious food, friendly staff. You know what, just don’t even go to this café, next time I’m here I don’t want to wait in line! Seriously, great little spot in the Santa Monica area. We had breakfast there — the eggs, bagel, salmon, tea, coffee, all were very good. On top of the delicious food, the presentation was also very clean and modern. they just do it right at this café! Tip: they deliver the food to your table. As usual they bill you upfront at the cashier and I wasn’t sure about leaving a tip, but I did, and I’m glad. They do bring the food to your table, and we ordered dessert, and they spaced out the dessert, so we got it after our breakfast. So do leave a tip, as they do serve you. Metered parking upfront, no parking behind the restaurant, so look for meters in the area.

Stopped in for brunch the day after the LA Marathon. The scrambled eggs with salmon were excellent. The dish is very light so I also ordered the yogurt parfait and latte were very good as well. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Hope to return again after next year’s marathon.

Luke warm experience at this Italian café on upper Montana Ave. There is plenty of café seating indoors. You are in elbow range of your neighbors, so it’s not an ideal work environment, though certainly an improvement over an average Starbucks. There is a sterility to this style of Italian café that doesn’t ring my bell, while it may yours. It’s certainly a clean and sleek interior. I was underwhelmed by the quality of the coffee as well as the service. I don’t need to be courted or flattered but I do appreciate some friendliness with my service.

Came in for brunch. Really just wanted the hot chocolate from pictures I saw on Unilocal.:) Cute place for drinks and healthier organic food. I’d definitely come here if I needed some coffee/hot chocolate and a place to get work done or just catch up with friends. FOOD Hazelnut hot chocolate(4 stars): Pretty good hot chocolate. Has chucks of hazelnuts at the end that were good, but it threw off the texture. Whatever the cookie is that they serve on top of the drink… ask for extra! So good to dip that in the chocolate! Organic scrambled eggs with mushrooms(4 stars): Eggs cooked well, good scramble. Side of everything bagel and cream cheese(3 stars): Normal bagel, not as soft as I’d like. Tastes like the bagels you can buy at grocery stores. Side of fruit(3 stars): Cute small side but the fruit in it wasn’t very tasty. SERVICE Great service. The men working were really nice. Didn’t expect a small coffee place like this to put down a table mat before they served our food, nice touch. ATMOSPHERE Very inviting, spacious, and modern. PARKING Street, meter.

Cute café with delicious drinks! Came at 5:30pm, 30 minutes before the close time and was able to order 2 hot chocolates but no food. There are 19 flavors to choose from, each $ 4.50. –whiskey hot chocolate: Not impressed. really didn’t taste any whiskey but the chocolate flavor is very strong. good quality! –hazelnut hot chocolate: yum! Definitely can taste the hazelnut and even has bits of hazelnut in it. Love the presentation with the little cookie on top! :) Edit: **CHAILATTE! — it’s matcha green tea instead of black tea and it’s more spicy than sweet! **MUSTTRY**

Great place to get work done! Even with my ADD tendencies, I was able to sit here for 5 hours and study. Good coffee drinks with lots of variety. I tried the cappuccino con panna(whipped cream) and the banana caffe(iced coffee and banana drink), both which were really good. The nutella croissant was also delicious and the perfect size, although a bit messy. The guys working here are sweet and really made my day(was not having the best week). Will definitely be back! Only negatives: Open until 6 pm. Not sure about wifi on weekends.

Love this place! My friend found this place and I was a little bit weary because I don’t trust his judgement in restaurants and he’s not much of a coffe/brunch snob as me. As he was driving us here, I could tell it was in the posh neighborhood of Montana Ave in the heart of Santa Monica. You feel transported back to a cute village of the Hamptons on a fine Sunday morning(cue Maroon 5). When I walked in here, I could tell that this place was authentic Italian to its core. From the sleek design and interior of its café/barista area to the layout with the paints and relics that remind us of everything Italian. What I really liked about this place was the guys who worked the register. damn. I guess the guys who work here need to have big muscles and be tanned. yummy! It was some great eye candy to wake me up, the guy who rang us up was super cute and he looked like my friend back in Bologna. I was happy to be here and ended up getting: 1) Salmon Carpaccio Salad — so nice and filling. The salad had the right amount of dressing and I really liked the texture of the shaved almonds sprinkled generously around, it added for nice flavor. 2) Scrambled Eggs — I have no clue what they put in their scrambled eggs, but I took a bite out of my friends and it literally tasted like something out of this world, it was flavored with some broth but the eggs remained delicate and fluffy! Yumm served alongside with some fruit and a delicious flaky buttery croissant. I want to go back to this place again! They have a whole menu dedicated to hot chocolate!!! And their coffee and lattes are out of this world. It makes me miss my time in Bologna Italy so much! They just put in a lot of love and tenderness into their food and customer service! Mangia Mangia!
