Coming form the East Coast where salads don’t coast your first born and a leg, I had difficulty finding a place that was reasonable. Simply salad is great place to get a quick salad that is not only good, but cheap. When the line is long they have someone come and take your order so its ready when you get to the register, so that all you have to do it pay. Love it, if you like a good salad and don’t want to pay a crazy amount this is you place !

Probably the freshest tasting salad I’ve ever had. Friendly, fast service, and helpful if indecisive. I like to create my own, but my favorite off the menu is the Seared Samurai! For the price you get almost 2 full servings! I like that they toss the salad and all the toppings for you! Overall great place, great food, great service! Also heads up — the line gets pretty long around lunch time!

I eat here every almost every day for lunch and love this place! It’s significantly cheaper than Tender Greens or other healthy spots in the neighborhood. You can make your own salad but I usually just go with the Cobb salad and sub dressing. It’s delicious and you can’t get any fresher. The only thing I can’t stand about this place is there is a female employee that works there most days who has the nastiest attitude, not just with me but everyone! She acts like she hates the place, hates you, hates salads, puppies, babies, rainbows um you get my point… she’s basically miserable and takes it out on people around her. She’s even rude to other employees working there which is awkward for customers to have to witness. Everyone else that works there is friendly and wonderful!

Simply Salad is simply a good salad at a good price. If it weren’t so far from where I worked, I’d likely go more often. Like most other modern day fast-casual eateries, they have choices between house signature styles or build your own. Their base salad is $ 6.50 and comes with 5 simple toppings(veggies, beans, egg, etc.). Premium toppings like avocado are $ 0.75. Proteins are about $ 2.00(fish is a little more). A typical signature salad is about $ 8.50−9.00. My friends are big fans of The Buff. Overall, it’s a less fancy version of Sweetgreen that provides great value.

I had never heard about Simply Salad until I started school a couple blocks away, and it’s a great place to get a healthy meal. They have an assembly line of people churning out salads in a standardized fashion, so even though the line can get long, the wait never really is over 15 minutes. I’ve tried a few of their salads and all have been good. I don’t really like the fact that they serve their salads in plastic bowls. I would much rather them serve them in brown boxes or something of the sort. Definitely a solid place for lunch in the area!

I have decided — of all the healthy greens that have popped up(Tender Greens, Lemonade, Sweet Greens, Mendo), Simply Salad probably has the best bang for your buck! You can build your own, or turn any of them into a wrap! I had the pre-set Thai it Up! wrap $ 7.25 Romaine — Iceberg, grilled chicken, peanuts, carrots, crispy wontons, bean sprouts, and red bell peppers Dressing Recommendation: Thai Peanut With a healthy side of sriracha.

DELICIOUS!!! So many different items to choose from, I love being able to create my own salad with the ingredients I want. Everything is so fresh too! I love the Garbanzo Beans, Dried Cranberries, Kale, and Walnuts! I love how they finely chop the salad, that is probably by favorite part because a lot of times the dressing does not cover every piece of lettuce and it makes it taste bland. Chopping it up so finely really allows the dressing to cover each piece! I love this place.

This place is my absolute favorite salad place to go to. I just wish they had more locations since I travel all over a lot. But when I am close to one I have to make a stop. Depending on what you get it can be a bit pricy but it’s soooooo worth it if your like me and you know exactly what you want and like. I love that they have hardier lettuce options like kale and spinach. Iceberg lettuce never did it for me. I typically get half spinach and half kale as my base. I always ask for the dressing on the side but I like that you can also ask them to give you light, med, or heavy dressing if I do want them to mix it in.

Service has really gone down hill. They made me the wrong salad and I told them and they acted annoyed at me. Then when they remade it, I got half a salad in a bowl and they dumped the rest out. Nobody apologized or offered me anything. They were just rude. Love their salads but this place used to be much friendlier.

This place is amazing, and its like nothing i have ever seen before. I loved the salad, I thought it had a great amount of flavors and spices in it. I would definitely come back here, it was amazing. The salad menu that they have is very good as well.

The last time I came here, I had a bad experience. The manager emailed me and apologized which was nice. Months later, I decided to give them another try. Well, this time I got food poisoning. Lesson learned. Never again.

I wish a Simply Salad establishment would consider opening a location in Newport Beach! I cannot dissent on the affordability, quality, and consistency Simply Salad has been with me since my few recent visits. Located on the hotbed of a Californian tourist attraction, it is nestled across from Equinox and at the corner of a Coffee Bean; Simply Salad is just one block away from the ocean! Simply Salad has a classic menu and a signature salad menu with plenty of exotic flavours and tastes; the best part is, you can substitute and customise items out of your preferred salad choice! My personal favourite is the Earthy Nutty Crunchy, a vegan choice packed with plenty of delicious nuts, exotic vegetables, and greens. I have had the pleasure to also try the Downtown Cobb which is considered my second favourite amongst the other. Simply Salad is very keen with their salad so keep in mind that your salad bowl will come in heaps and heaps of flavours x

Great place to pick up a salad and go. Located close to the Promenade, Great for a quick bite. Upon arrival, a line is formed to start picking the goodies for your salad/wrap. This salad bar can be customized to your tastebuds. From arrays of greens, vegetables, proteins and dressings. The combination is endless. Once the choices have been selected, they put it all on a chopping board and run a double blade over and mix in the dressing for you. The portion is good and everything is ready to eat. If you are taking it elsewhere or won’t be eating it right away, I would suggest taking the dressing separately. Customizing a salad can get expensive. If there is a signature salad that you see on the menu you already like, I would suggest to get that and then add any additional items– usually it is cheaper that way. Service is very laid back and friendly. Area is generally clean and inviting. Recommended for Vegans, Veggie/Salad lovers, decent lunch.

Simply Salad has a lot to offer in the health conscious culture in LA. Looking for a cheap but healthy eat in Santa Monica, I stumbled into Simply Salad because of its good rating on Unilocal.Like many fast food restaurants(i.e., 800 degrees, Chipotle, and Subway, etc), Simply Salad has an open assembly line so that you can see the staff pick out the toppings, mix the bowl, and chop up the salad. At first glance, the price is reasonable: $ 6.50 for customizable salad and $ 5.50 for the customizable wrap. However, a closer study of the menu soon become clear that each little add on has its own price tag: –simple toppings $ 0.55 –premium toppings(variable from $ 0.55 dried cranberries to $ 1.25 tofu) –meats($ 1.25 crispy bacon to $ 3.35 grilled steak; while most meats are $ 2.35) –seafood($ 2.35 to $ 3.75) –cheeses($ 0.50 to $ 1.35) As you can imagine, it’s a lot of pressured waiting in line trying to figure out my own customizable salad option without breaking my bank. So I opt for the signatures, aka premix options which comes with recommended salad dressings. Even there, you can choose if you want light or heavy dressing(or on the side). We got: — Seared Samurai(salad $ 10.50 | wrap $ 9.50) comes with baby spinach and romaine, seared ahi tuna, edamame, jicama, cucumbers, carrots, and crispy wontons. They recommended Wasabi or Far East dressing and I went with Far East dressing light. The only downside was that the tuna didn’t taste too fresh(has that fishy odor to it). — El Paso(salad $ 9.35 | wrap $ 8.35 Romaine) — Iceberg, grilled chicken, kidney beans, tortilla strips, corn, pepper jack, grape tomatoes, and avocado. We went with spicy chipotle instead of cilantro lime vinaigrette. Will I eat here during work lunch break? Yes. Will I purposely travel 15 miles to eat here? No. Is it cheaper than Tender Greens? Yes, but it sure doesn’t beat the Souplantation AYCE portion, which isn’t that much more expensive. I wish one was closer to my residence or work because it is definitely an affordable healthy food option. Simply Salad may not win everyone’s heart but it sure is simply enough for me.

My boyfriend and I have quite the obsession with Tender Greens right up the block, but we’re growing tired of the constant long lines. My co worker told me about this place and since I love me some greens we figured it would be great to have a back up spot to escape the long line at Tender Greens every once in awhile. The salad was good… however I just can’t bring myself back to eat here again which is a shame. It might be just me because I am extremely picky when it comes to food and where I eat but the first thing that turned me off was the girl who was making my salad was obviously sick(or coming down with a cold) because she kept constantly coughing. Understandable, we are all humans, we get sick, your job most likely has a crappy call out policy… but forgive me; if you are sick keep your damn mouth closed while you make my food. This girl kept talking to her co worker while making my salad and I was pretty grossed out because I saw spit go in my food as she was yapping along. Second thing that completely turned me off is the was the restaurant looks. I mean hell for a bit over $ 10 salad I don’t expect the place to look like Queen Elizabeth palace, but come on, this is Santa Monica and you serve fish and meat. This place, from the moment I walked in felt dirty and dingy, and once I got that vibe I was put off from ordering and meat or fish and eating there in general made me loose my appetite or any desire to ever come back. I might try coming back and getting it to go and not look around so much to escape the dirty restaurant vibe. And dear sick girl who made my salad, please don’t talk into my salad while you make it especially when you have a virus. I am kinda silly that way; but I rather not have your germs in my food.

I was randomly wandering around SaMo looking for a simple, healthy lunch and I just happened to find Simply Salad which was just the place I was looking for. I got a salad wrap for $ 5.50 starting with a base of baby spinach(this would be your rice in a typical burrito) and then adding on grilled corn, sauteed mushrooms, artichoke hearts, red peppers, and grape tomatoes(you get five free fillings for free). I topped off my custom wrap with a honey vinaigrette dressing. It is really entertaining watching the servers behind the counter cut up your salad ingredients with huge dual slicers, I noticed that they offered a good amount of meats and other add-ins but they were completely optional and you can basically pay more to add anything into your salad or wrap. The wrap tasted really good and it was nice getting so many veggies in one meal. I would highly recommend this place as a healthy lunch spot in SaMo!
