I know it’s closed now, but I went yrs ago on Valentine’s Day & the food wasn’t great. It didn’t have much flavor & was too salty. But it would have been nice to see Arnold, even if it was from a distance.

Yea, too bad it’s closed. It was my kind of place. Republicans and Euro Trash. What a combination. Anyways, the food was good. especially the desserts.

Schatzi is great if you are looking for an after-work drink with a crowd. Plenty of couches and it’s outdoors. Good selection of beers, decent happy hour, but it isn’t the most hygienic place. Last time I was there the waitress brought me out my pint and didn’t even stop to realize that there was a cigarette butt floating in it… ha hah. Despite the jeering from my friends, I did not drink it. If you are a smoker, you can smoke and drink, as I mentioned, it’s outdoors. Food is mediocre, but overall, this place isn’t horrible.

Went to a company event for drinks, so I can not comment on food or crowd. However the bar service is horrible. It takes forever to get a cocktail. Nice patio, nice vibe, but its impossible to get a drink AND they stop serving at midnight instead of 2. Maybe a good place for dinner, but not a good place for a night of boozing.

I think LA needs more places like this… you know, cultural… well, food-wise anyway! Oh wait… there are PLENTY of cool, cultural-type restaurants if you know where to look: Koreatown, Olvera Street, Chinatown, Little Ethiopia… But this… this is a bit of heaven and a departure from the norm for sure… AUSTRIAN food! I mean who knew? lol Austrians in Venice. As stated 10-fold…was started by Arnie and his wife(neither are owners anymore I don’t think) and he handed it to a friend, can’t remember the guy’s name but he grew up in the same little town or nearby the Governator in Austria. This new guy was VERY into ice cream… so much so that he’ll give you some at the end of your meal AND you can buy it on site. DELISH. Haven’t been in awhile so don’t quuote me on that… the ice cream part. As for food… the Weinerschnitzel is OUT of this world and I highly recommend it. Great patio dining, especially in the summer months. Close to other bars and shopping on Main so that’s always a plus!

food is just ok, but the patio bar is awesome… and of course there’s that whole whiff of fame with the Schwarzenegger thing…

Patio! Patio! Patio! You can find me on the patio with a Gosser enjoying the good life. I’m glad they started up the live music again! Cigar smokers and Republicans flock here so be warned if you don’t like the smell! You may need to sit down wind on cigar club nights. I’d be careful to recommend the food as being authentic Austrian. The chef has taken some understandable California liberties with the menu. Having said that, I’ve never had a bad meal here. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Even though I don’t agree with the Gov’s politics, I think he did a pretty good job with this place. I’ll be back!

Great Happy Hour! Every Monday & Weds. starting at 6:30. Thanks, JayChan & BenChan for taking me here last night. The coconut drink went well with the tomato basil pizza that literally melted in my mouth. Never mind that I am likely to throw up on my trainer this morning. We heard a GREAT jazz band, good enough for JayChan to snag one of their CDs. I liked Gov Arnold’s joint so much that I didn’t even deduct a star for the protruding nail on a pillar that pulled threads from my new coat. Jay fixed the coat by poking the threads back in place with the cartridge of a ballpoint pen. I pounded the nail back into the pillar with my shoe. All is well. When are we going back?

Founded by Arnold Schwarzenegger, his stamp is seen everywhere from signed photos to movie posters to Austrian dishes on the menu. Great food, big portions and decently priced! Best Wienerschnitzel outside of Austria! Wonderful dining experience and the staff are ever so friendly!

Governer Arnold owns this restaurant. The décor is beautiful. It is a block away from the beach. A very nice place to dine. Although it can be very crowded, The food is pretty good. In my opinion it is worth the wait. I would make reservations though. Especially for dinner
