This place is terrible! If I could give them no star I would… Service is terrible it takes 45 to get your food and to top it off its cold and the buns are COLD&HARD! Don’t recommend this place at all!

I live not far from this location and frequent Tower 26 often. For years I avoided Perry’s because I had heard from long time Santa Monicans that it was a «Greasy Spoon». About 2 summers ago my husband and I had gone for an early morning boogie board and decided to «risk it» get an omelette from Perry’s as the Omelette Parlor on Main Street had now closed.(Grrrrr! — greedy landlords of Main street ruined an institution) Thank goodness we checked out their menu & went as the selections looked great. To our delight the omelette was very tasty and we enjoyed the morning on their super cushy chairs on the sand. We shared an ice coffee and were pleasantly surprised, felt like we were on a mini vacation on our own local beach! Not long after that we were enjoying our time at the beach and decided to try the quinoa salad with grilled chicken. SUPERLIGHT! Very tasty and quiet frankly JUST what a place like Santa Monica needs along the beach. The tacos are lovely and their guac is FRESH! A note: a lot of the food here is made fresh. So if you order tacos or anything with chicken on it for example, it needs to be cooked. So don’t expect it to rush out within a minute. Good tasting food shouldn’t be rushed. There are vegetarian and gluten free options! Major plus! For those who want their beach side pizza, that is there too! Now we frequent this location often and feel that it’s Santa Monica’s best kept beach secret. How other locals haven’t discovered it yet is beyond me. Sometimes we’ll have a picnic on the grass area and sneak over to Perry’s to get some fresh young coconut water or extra snacks in the afternoon sun. The chairs on the sand make it feel very holiday/vacation like. I’m a huge fan. They also play nice music. Food aside, I do use this location for bike rentals. Esp when I have guests in from out of town. Their prices are great, there are many safe, comfortable bikes to choose from. A great location for Ocean Park locals! For out of town folk: I recommend using bike rentals such as the ones that Perry’s offers over the Breeze bikes for beach trips. The breeze bikes are handy for those wanting a one way trip up into the suburb of Santa Monica, but they are far too heavy and not as enjoyable as the beach cruisers Perry’s offer. Beach Cruising = Perry’s Beach Bikes. With that said, I have discovered on my bike travels that there are quite a few locations. This is handy to know if you’re wanting to show out of town guests the bike path and want to stop for a snack along the way. I recommend heading North to Will Rogers for people who haven’t been on a bike in a while. It will help you get comfortable riding and it’s less crowded than Venice. With that said: Once you have your confidence back: Take that bike to Venice, then the Marina, and ride all the way down to Hermosa or Redondo. It’s a fantastic ride and really drives home the scope of how big our beaches are here. I recommend asking for a lock for that kind of ride so you can go chill on the beach for a little bit. There is also an amazingly rad bike tour you can take from the Pier! It’s full of local history, it’s a mellow ride with a plethora of information ranging from the early 1900s to today. I highly recommend that trip not just to tourists but to locals. It’s amazing how much we don’t know about our own back yard. So Ocean Park and Santa Monica locals, book yourself in! It’s a real treat!

I’ve lived in West LA for several years now and I always chalked Perry’s up as a tourist trap. This past Saturday morning on a whim my wife and I decided to walk down and get some coffee on the beach. I figured we’d get a burrito while we were at it. Unfortunately, my intuition about this place was pretty spot-on. The service was not great. My cup of coffee was just slightly more than halfway full. My burrito took about 20 minutes to come out. Take this place at face value: it’s a convenient spot to grab a bite to eat or a drink on the beach, and prices are comparable to other spots in downtown SM. The food and service are nothing to write home about though.

I ordered a tuna salad when there was nobody there. It took about a half hour to come out. But when it did, it was good. They use high quality ingredients. Still, this was no consolation to my indignant two year old who thought we were just getting some food«real quick.»

Perry’s Café is super convenient when you are hungry at the beach and didn’t bring any food with you. They have a varied menu with healthy alternatives and a wide range of options. My only negative comment would be that it can take quite a while for you to get your food. But, in all honesty, food should take a little bit to make and if you can’t wait, then you’re probably better off going to a fast food joint.

Food is very nice and fresh. But service is really bad. Very very slow. And orders are very often forgotten. The worse is some of the staff is rude. They seem unhappy to work at the beach! Today was too much(Sunday February 14 between 10 and 11:00 am). Even the manager was rude. We decided never to come back after many years of Sunday breakfasts. This is a local institution and is has been a family tradition to come here so it makes me sad to make such a decision.

We tried the Milanese chicken sandwich(Mary’s organic :-) the NY Italian sub, the bacon cheeseburger and the chicken strips. Everything was very fresh and tasty at reasonable prices! Great spot to surf, skate, bike or walk to and eat right on the beach. p. s. They have Pete’s coffee including lattes.

Been getting Perry’s pizza since I was 5, and I’m 41. They used to have another location in the Sherman Oaks galleria. The pizza for the most part has stayed relatively consistent for all these years! Perry’s pizza is so good that several times throughout my life I have gotten sand on it and ate it anyway. It’s childhood nostalgia at its finest. I’ve never had a bad experience here. Great beachfront café. Lovelovelove

Worst fish tacos and worse service. They should have been prepared for the July 4th weekend. But it was just awful! We used to like this place, but the last couple of times it’s gone from bad to worse. Fish tacos took over half an hour, and they were stiff and smelled bad. Hope we don’t fall sick. Don’t go there.

0 stars if I can give them none. Me, my wife and and 1 year old went to this café. We ordered a large half cheese and half pepperoni. The girl that took our order clearly saw it was just us 3. The pizza that came out was huge. We ended up eatting 4 out of 12 pieces. The girl should have said something. Usually I can eat a large pizza with my wife. Also the sicilian style pizza tasted horrible. The 2nd order was a grilled cheese for my baby and they gave us a regular grilled cheese which comes with fries and I ended up ordering fries again since I didnt know it came with fries. The kids grilled cheese comes with milk and chips. I specifically said it was for the kid. Wow. Made my whole day. Thanks Perrys

So I am a local who grew up in Santa Monica, I am 3rd generation westsider. Some of my favorite childhood memories are of going down to the beach making sand castles with my dad, bodysurfing for hours or roller skating on the boardwalk. Then we would stop and grab a soda and a slice on our way home. Santa Monica and Venice has changed a lot since I was a kid some good, some bad. The same goes for Perry’s Pizza, I remember in my high school days Perry’s closed and Mc Donald’s opened in it’s place it was devastating to us locals! It didn’t last long maybe 2 years and Perry’s was back, YAY! Now they still have great slices, the burger is not bad but they make GREAT homemade potato chips, WOW, you will scarf down the whole bag! I walk my dogs down on the boardwalk and about once a week grab a slice or a small bag of chips. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because there are 3 Perry’s along the boardwalk, I like the location at the end of Holister St. The best, they have the friendliest staff at that location, the other 2 seem to have staff that could use some lessons in what friendly customer service is suppose to be.

Two stars because the food was decent but for $ 12 for a grilled cheese and $ 15 for a plain burger, I was nearly star struck… at the price! Family of four, no drinks, ate for $ 65.00! We sat at a dirty table and waited at least 30 minutes for our order. The cashier was friendly enough but certainly didn’t go out if her way to be cheerful. I feel bad for the people that spend their money on this kind of food and think it’s worth the price and wait.

When I came to Perry’s, I came here for the rentals and not the food, so I will exclusively be talking about the rental portion of the business. Perry’s has a wide selection of vehicles that you can rent. They have some cruisers, tandem bikes, 3 wheelers, and a few other beach related vehicles for you to rent. They do have a few other locations along the beachfront, but it just depends where you go to exactly. When I rented the tandem bike from them, I was excited since I never rode one before, but I didn’t get what I expected. While I was riding it with my friend, our bike kept breaking down. The chain continuously became stuck and we were stranded at a point and had to walk to the bike back to the nearest Perry’s. No matter how many times I got the chain back on the gear, it still got stuck, so I did not have a nice time went my tandem bike. When we went to the nearest Perry’s, they gave us a different bike to ride back to the one where we originally rented it from which was nice of them to do, but not something that should have even happened. You can see how the other bike rental shops do, but this was my experience with Perry’s bikes.

I stopped by Perry’s Café while I was meandering along the Santa Monica /Venice Beach area one morning. There are several of these along the shore, and they looked clean, were not busy(it was only 10am on a Friday though) and had great outdoor seating with ocean views — everything that I was looking for at the time! Their menu was pretty impressive for such a small place, and they serve breakfast until 11am. Perry’s also serves as a bike and surfboard rental shop, but I only ate while I was visiting. I ordered the Farmer’s Veggie Sandwhich, which comes with chips and a pickle spear. I also ordered a side of fries, because they looked amazing(they were!). The girl at the counter was friendly and helpful, and my food came out in a relativly short amount of time considering that it was made after I ordered. I can see how during peak eating times the wait would be much longer, but I didn’t experience that issue when I was there. All the food tasted delicious, and the serving sizes were MUCH larger than I had anticipated! I was only able to eat ½ my sandwhich and ½ my fries, and I ended up giving my leftovers to a hungry looking man further down the beach. I would gladly eat here again if I’m in the Santa Monica/Venice Beach area.

Staff was very friendly and cool atmosphere, we rented a bike(10) and a tandem bike(20). If you go down the road in Venice its 4 bucks cheaper. Food was very good and looks like they took their time to prepare because it did take a little bit to get to our table. You have to enjoy the views and relax, not a place for someone in a rush but I guess who is when you’re beach side.

With summer here have you ever thought of what would it be like if you did not want to lug all your beach paraphernalia out to the sand? Provided you find some nearby parking, this place can assist you in relaxing at the beach with a minimal amount of fuss(at least the days I visited). They can set you up on the sand with chairs/umbrellas and of course they rent bicycles too. Although their menu prices are inflated, I typically bring my own beverage and just get a snack to keep it simple. In order to watch the world go buy on a budget, I will buy their least expensive item on the menu, which is a piece of fruit for $ 1.50 and kick back in their sand seating. If you want more to eat, I suggest you bring your own picnic or be prepared to walk around a bit and pay more. With the heat of the season fast approaching, it would just not be the same without them. Guess I am just grateful they are there when I need a break from bicycling and want to lean back in a chair.
