As shopping for an electric bike can be an expensive venture, I wanted to educate myself as much as possible about the technology before going in for test rides. I called Bike Attack Electric twice in one week, asking about the brands they sell, the range of bikes they sell and if I could take any of their bikes for test rides. The answer was an emphatic ‘YES!’ I went into the store over the weekend with the clear understanding that I was there to test ride and see which different bikes fit my riding style. Wow, is all I have to say. First of all, the shop was in impeccable order. The bikes were beautifully lined up and displayed on the floor and in the window. When I walked in, I was greeted by Martin, then JD, and then Andrew. ALL of the men were gentlemen and VERY kind to my son and me. JD took me around the store and showed me the different bikes he thought would interest me based on what I told him about my riding tastes. I took four different bikes on test rides. I was at the store for almost 90 minutes. Every one of my questions was answered, from price to different bike features to the technology each of the bikes featured to ways the store could modify the bikes to fit my comfort level. The best thing about this store was that there was NOHARDSELL. These folks understand that an electric bike purchase is not one that should be made on the fly. They encouraged me to go home, think about what my needs are and then come back and go for a more extensive test ride on whichever bikes I’m contemplating purchasing. I was astounded by the personal treatment, the kindness, the respect. I am a bike enthusiast, but by no means an expert and therefore I come with a lot of questions that could have some bike store personnel rolling their eyes. But not these folks. They encouraged me to ask as many questions as I needed to and they were very enthusiastic about my interest in their store. In fact Andrew, the owner, was insistent that I take my time deciding about which bike would be the right one for me. He said he wanted to make sure that I am the one choosing which bike to purchase and that he did not want to pressure me in any way to rush to a decision. I appreciate this as a consumer. This small, local business offers competitive pricing with their bikes and offers incredible customer service. One of the bike manufacturers whose bike I rode when I visited the store said that they LOVE that Bike Attack Electric carries their brand because they are so terrific to work with. Another plus is that the store offers interest-free financing on bike purchases for qualified buyers. What can I say? The electric bike movement is growing and I will soon join in on the fun — and Bike Attack Electric will be the dealer where I will purchase my next two-wheeled adventure ride. Thanks, fellas!

Really disappointed in the customer service, I bought a Sondors eBike on craigslist and had some issues with the electric flow so I called Bike Attack to see if they had any suggestions or tips… they said for me to bring the bike into their shop so I did… spending 45 minutes to get there. As soon as I brought my bike in, the guy at the counter was like it’s $ 50 an hour to look at it and we don’t have any of the parts for Sondors so we probably can’t fix it anyway. UGH, why would you have me spend 45 minutes driving to come into your shop and another hour and a half to get home in traffic just to tell me something you could tell me over the phone and save me 2+ hours of driving in traffic??? I was ready to spend whatever to get my bike fixed but ended up just wasting my afternoon going into their shop. Seriously disappointed.

I bought a very expensive bike from this place, and my issue is with one person who works there. I had a crash on the bike and brought it back to be repaired. He twice told me the bike was ready when he had neglected to fix things I told him specifically to do. He makes excuses instead of apologizing. Then, when I was told the bike was finally done, I went to pick it up and it didn’t work. And he yelled at me when it wouldn’t work. Told me I was complaining. I guess I was, because customers complain about poor service. The guy is immature, forgetful, and shouldn’t ever deal with customers. Right now they are the only place in LA that services the Kalkhoff bikes, but I hope that changes soon. I will never go back to this business. Your memory is convenient. But you were not there. I had to bring the bike back twice. I left it for days the second time. When I was notified it was ready to be picked up, the pedal that was supposed to be replaced was not. I pointed this out to the employee, who reacted with anger. Then I tried to turn it on, and it did not work. That is when the employee raised his voice to me, told me I was complaining, and represented your business as a place of hostility and incompetence. I asked to speak with you and the little bully told me you were out of town until September. I realize you guys did a lot to get the bike working, it is the attitude of the employee I take issue with. He insinuated that violence was a possibility. You should get him some shoe lifts and send him to be a repo man, he should never deal with paying customers. When I bought my wife an electric bike two weeks ago, I had to go to Laguna Beach to avoid your shop. that is how bad it was. So check again, you didn’t get a fraction of the real story.

Recently I purchased an A2B ladies Ferber electric. The managers were very patient and knowledgable and I ended up getting one of the best bikes out there for my lifestyle. They were interested in educating me and did not pressure me. I thought about the bikes I test drove, left, and came back and tried one more. It was clear they had the right bike. And the owner delivered same day. I love this new bike, it’s so much fun, and still exercise. Plus I put a little Bluetooth speaker on it, to top it off. Great store, and choices. They even give you basic service to buyers. Five stars.

Recently I got to check out the new shop of Ericson of Bike Attack, he helped me get a Kuat bike rack for my new car and he had it delivered to this store rather than his regular shop up the street, he did an awesome job setting up the new place! I was just there to pick up a rack but he offered me a test ride on one of the Stromer bikes he offers there, the shop has a comfortable area out back that allows customers to hang and chat about bikes. As I began my little test ride Ericson shouted to take it up a hill just across from the shop, what a great location to test out the power of these new wave of bikes! The store front is right on Main in Venice so it’s easy to find, the show room is spacious and has plenty of eye candy for the bike minded! Look for big things from this solid group of folks as they are expanding even more with another electric bike shop in the newly developed Playa Vista area!
