I had the worst haircut of my life at this salon. I asked for a trim and she cut off 5 inches. It was cut unevenly and took over a year to grow back. Also, you can’t walk in there without them trying to sell you something. The worst salon and
the most unprofessional hairdressers I’ve ever been to.

It’s not only the great service and the level of professionalism that makes me drive for 45 mins to get there, it’s the fact that they feel like family and I just enjoy and look forward to seeing them. Rey and Fahimeh are amazing! I walked into the salon and I was immediately greeted with a smile and a warm welcome. I knew I wanted to donate my hair, however I was unsure of the style I wanted. Rey looked at me and said she would take care of me by providing me with a fun and flirty style! I knew I was in great hands!
Rey takes great pride in her work. She is very professional and personable. Rey has a passion and is an artist as she cuts and styles! No piece of hair goes missed with her precise attention to detail. Rey made me feel beautiful and I am so happy with the outcome; love the texture and layers to my new hairdo! I absolutely adore Rey! She has been cutting, coloring, and highlighting my hair since 2002 and I have never had a cut or style/​color that I didn’t love. Although I am not very adventurous now with my hair, I got bored very easily in my younger years and have had Rey color my hair many different fun colors and cut it from super short bobs to very super long layers. I usually give her full creative license to do whatever she wants with my hair now that I completely trust her judgement. I have never once been disappointed. I will continue to visit Rey for as long as the salon is open and she is available.
Rey’s mother, Fahimeh, is lovely and welcoming. My ten year old son has been a regular in the salon every time we are in the neighborhood since his birth. Fahimeh and Rey make us feel like family. We love them both!

Love, Love, Love Fahimeh. As a male with hard to cut hair, I’ve never had a bad haircut from this place. I recommend it to every friend and family. She’s an amazing artist and her attention to detail is second to none. She was also nice enough to accommodate me with an appointment for an emergency trip.

I love this place!!! Beverly Hills and Hollywood style finally comes to Santa Monica. This place is up to date, latest styles and extremely affordable for the level of haircut and service. Legitimately, long eat time spent on my hair. I’ll never go anywhere else again. You should definitely give this place a try if you are ever in the west side.

Rey cut my hair into a short bob this afternoon and I love it! She took the time to look over my current cut, check out some photos I had, and discuss what I was looking for. I loved watching her work her magic and you can tell she is an expert! Very friendly and beautiful salon as well… and family owned!

I haven’t had a bad haircut in a long time, but in this salon I got it! The only reason I’m not leaving one star, it’s because of the owners. They are really nice and welcoming. My hair was cut by an Asian looking lady who didn’t seem to know what she is doing, even with a simple layers trimming. Now my hair is half layers and half even. Probably one of the worst haircuts I’ve ever had!

It pains me to leave this review since the owners were SO nice and welcoming but my highlights and hair cut were bad, really bad. I’ve been highlighting my hair for years and always go for subtle, natural looking highlights. I left this salon with thick and streaky highlights that looked like someone drew on my head with a bleach pen. I didn’t realize how bad they were until I got home and looked at my hair part. I was mortified. My cut was really choppy, the layers had not been blended at all.
I had to go to another salon two weeks later to get my hair fixed since I was so unhappy with how it had turned out at this salon.
Nice people but I can’t recommend this salon to anyone.

I purchased a groupon with hair designers studio in Santa Monica. On their fine print they didn’t stipulate any specific hair stylist name and it turned out that they can only honor it on Tuesday. This doesn’t work with my work schedule and they couldn’t offer me or refuse to me any alternative. They were really working against me and not trying at all to help me use the coupon that I purchased. The lady at the front desk, the only one actually was rude, inefficient, and I could tell she was making stories every time I was calmly and politely suggesting a solution. I guess although the salon was totally empty they don’t need new customers.

I had a wonderful experience at Hair Designer’s Studio while I was visiting Santa Monica from NYC.
I just went in for a root touch-​up, but Rey gave me a whole new look.
Love the color and the blow-​out. Then she told me how she could improve the shape of my cut, and after I told her to go ahead and do it, she refused to charge me for the cut! Lovely salon, comfortable chairs near the sinks, convenient location.

I have been going to Fahimeh for a few years now. I’ve always been the kind of person who felt anyone could give me a good haircut. So I’d go to a cheap barber shop or Floyd’s and felt it would be fine. But then one day I decided it was time to see what would happen when I went to a high end salon, and I was wowed. Fahimeh knew exactly what to do with my hair, she was such a professional, and completely took care of me. Even gave me wine. Since the first time I went, I couldn’t go back to a barber again. This is the best place in Santa Monica, and I highly recommend coming here.

Thanks to Fahimeh and Rey, I love my new hair cut and color. Haven’t looked this sexy in a very long time. They are truly the best at what they do and I have never seen so much care and persistence with each client regardless of how busy they are.
Besides always looking better than ever, I get so much positive energy from them. They all treat you like family and it feels like a haven.
Highly recommended for: highlights, color, fixing damaged hair, cuts, facial, and pedicure.

I went here during my two years of living in LA and it is one of those glorious gems I miss the most. In a day of forced Sports Clipesque spots this place was a personable breath of fresh air. Fahimeh and Ray made me feel like family and are so genuinely warm and friendly. They will do anything needed to make you look great and I often times left after entering looking near homeless feeling like a million bucks. If you are looking for cold and overpriced service try the 20 983 290 other trendy salons but if you want a place that gives you a great cut for a reasonable price and actual customer service come here.
I for one wish I still could!

Fahimeh, you are simply amazing! I like a lot of places in LA, but never thought I’d fall in love getting my hair did.
First of all, I’m super sexy now, thanks to Fahimeh. That’s first and foremost as, well, who wants to go somewhere to get all done up and come out anything but?
The staff are all amazing. They treat their customers and neighbors alike as much like family as anyone could ask. They also have some amazing secrets and tricks that I’m not going to spill, but trust me the stops they pull out are worth the visit.
I’m looking forward to sporting an amazing hairdo for years to come thanks to you!
