Dr. Rubenstein is a rheumatologist and has been treating my lupus for the last 6 to 7 years. She was recommended to me by my family doctor and I’m definitely glad I didn’t have to go through a string of rheumies to find a good fit for me. She has a private practice and she is usually able to see me in a timely manner. After oral medicine was not enough to suppress my flares consistently, she has helped me to start Benlysta treatments for my lupus, an IV infusion treatment that is still relatively new. When I mentioned financial obstacles to receive these treatments, she called me back to make sure I knew that her office would help me to receive assistance from the Benlysta drug company. I am now receiving copay assistance and it definitely helps. Dr. Rubenstein always remembers what has happened in the past and that makes me feel good as her patient. Whenever I have an emergency I either make last minute appointments(which the nurses are very helpful with) or make a call, Dr. Rubenstein will always call me back personally. I know that is not something easy to do all the time, so I definitely appreciate that. Some problems people may find are her limited hours of the week, so I always have to miss a little bit of work(usually just an hour to an hour and a half though) and the parking can be difficult unless you’re willing to valet out front($ 6). If you park on the street, make sure to read the signs! I got a ticket once even though I thought it was okay. The parking on Santa Monica Blvd are better. I park at the 1 hour meter and that is usually more than enough time for me to get in, get checked and on my way :)

Dr. Rubenstein is really the best rheumatologist I’ve met. She really helped me to improve quality of my life. Anyone who has fibromyalgia knows what I mean. If curing the disease is not possible, she will help you live with it and enjoy your life as much as possible under the circumstances.
