Good drink selection, bad food selection. We came before a movie around 6 pm to try out their happy hour and were definitely happy with the selection of drinks — there’s a good mix of pretty much all alcohols and classic + updated drinks. But my drink was a little potent in the sense that I think it was cheap liquor, and my bf’s drink was a little overly sweet as if it didn’t have ENOUGH liquor haha. Other friend had a rum drink and he said it was«okay.» However, for the prices during happy hour I think it’d be a great place to drink after work haha. Unfortunately, we were REALLY hungry but all they had were paninis and some small bites. I think their kitchen is probably more along the lines of a panini press and a fridge. The pesto dip I had was so so, and the panini we ordered was a pretty classic panini. So all in all, come in for a drink and leave for dinner somewhere else.

This place is amazing. you can tell that every detail from the floor to the ceiling has been meticulously chosen. It felt like stepping into a underground top secret bar.

This place is a cool bar in Santa Monica. If you’re in the area shopping or at the beach, I would really recommend you stopping here for a drink. The place is pretty loud but it has good drinks and plenty of space to sit. The location is also perfect. It’s a block or two from the SM pier so it’s perfect place to stop after the beach.

Great food and eats! Located in a great area of Santa Monica and centrally located. Took an Über to get there and glad we did.

Me and some friends decided to try out this bar on a Thursday because we heard they have solid food in a pretty good happy hour. When I came in the bartender gave me a menu and explain to me what the happy hour entailed. From the way the menu looked and the happy hour prices I would say they did definitely had a pretty good happy hour. I wanted to surprise my coworkers so due to happy hour I ordered 12 shots of tequila for everyone and that only came up to $ 60($ 5/shot is awesome no matter where you are). The bartender allowed me to take the shots over to my friends myself instead of him or a server doing it. I also love chips and dip so I ordered chips and guacamole dip. When the chips and guacamole dip came out I began eating it and it tasted awesome. My friends tasted it is well and loved it too. I will definitely come back here for more happy hour appetizers and drinks. I highly recommend it for anyone as well!

Came here for some drinks since it was near the promenade. Walked in and was completely ignored by the waitress. Sat at the bar stools and they were wobbly and cracked. After swapping chairs sound the waitress came over to us and still did not ask us for our order. I had to walk up to the bar and order drinks and food. Manager was nice but clueless about what goes on in the bar. He stands outside as a greeter. Chips with guacamole were good, but a little pricey. Overall this bar needs some friendlier staff and new furniture that is old and falling apart.

This is our first night in Santa Monica. We loved the atmosphere in this bar, it’s cool and laid back. Also all the drinks we tried were excellent and very well made. I would definitely recommend it to friends visiting the area. It is also a good bar for a date. There was no table service on the night we visited so we ordered at the bar, and service was efficient and pleasant there. 5 stars.

Good happy hour right off the Promenade. The place was surprisingly empty when we arrived at the beginning of happy hour on a Tuesday.

It’s ok. Decent vibe. I wish Unilocal had a ranking function. I’m ok with 4 stars but I’d put it well behind the Craftsman just down the street. Deficient in all areas: drinks, food, ambiance. But still 4 stars.

Honestly, I’m at odds about this place. The location and cocktail execution are superb, which is why I can’t give it any less than three stars. In terms of vibe and atmosphere I expected a little more — my experience couldn’t have been any more mundane. I always had hopes of celebrating a birthday at Copa d’ Oro, but now I’m content with just having dropped in for a quick drink while on a small bar hop in Santa Monica. That being said, I would not mind stopping in if I’m in the area for Happy Hour but it’s not a place that would be high on my list if I’m contemplating another night time bar crawl.

So I was bar hopping during Happy Hour my last night in the LA area. I had gotten a drink from 5 different spots in Santa Monica. They were all really good, but not really much to write home(or Unilocal… which is basically home) about. Except for this place. Whew! The people here really know how to put together an awesome cocktail. Lots of original recipes — all of which I could try. Luckily for me, I was pressed for time. Otherwise, I might have tried all of them. Instead, I had gotten a BBC — which is a Copa original consisting of bourbon(I love bourbon, and they have lots of bourbon cocktails!), apricot brandy, cynar(didn’t know what this was, but trusted them anyway) and walnut bitters. I had also requested a spicy drink. Both were amazing. They really know their stuff. I hung out here for a little extra and just picked the poor bartender’s brain. I’m selfish like that. The space is really beautiful too. Dimly lit with splashes of lighting everywhere. I definitely have to go back here if I’m ever in town again.

One of my favorite happy hour spots around Santa Monica due to their extensive drink menu, lengthy happy hours(4−8pm; all night Monday), and cozy atmosphere. Copa isn’t that packed around 5−6ish, but things will start picking up around 7−8pm. I hear later at night, it can get far more packed and people may or may not take advantage of the space in the back and turn it into their dance floor. Haven’t had the food here, but the service and bartenders are great and helpful. Would definitely come back for another round during happy hour!

A great local bar that has a great atmosphere on most nights. I’ve never seen it get overly crowded, but it’s always busy and has a good amount of people. This is one of the few places that I was able to get a Pimm’s cup, so that was an automatic plus. The first time I came here and ordered a Pimm’s, it was outstanding and super refreshing. The last time I was here, the Pimm’s was a little heavier and not as much to my liking. Other than that, all the drinks I’ve tried here are decent! This is also an excellent place to people watch. They get an interesting mix of people. And the crowd here is pretty friendly too. Never had any problems with overly drunk or obnoxious people! Also, people usually don’t dress up too much here, so you can be casual or a little dressed up and either way you’re good.

Haven’t been to this place in years but stopped by the other night. Super great vibe, incredibly hot bartender, eclectic bunch to watch and kick-ass tunes. Have no idea why I was charged $ 14 for a martini, though. They don’t even charge that much at Château Marmont. Could be the hot bartender was a teeny bit evil???

This place is off of 3rd Street promenade, you have to walk towards the beach to get there. When you walk in, you seat yourself. It’s incredibly dark in there, we had to use our cell phone flashlights to read the menu. The back wall which has the list of drinks on it, is lit a bit more so you can read off of there. Parking, it’s near 3rd street — I would suggest parking in one of the garages nearby.

Holly from the craftsman sent me to see Vincenzo & he wasn’t claiming her… oops! Thanks for my capirinha anyways! I will say that Vincenzo was kind of an ass though & if I could give 1 ½ stars I would.

Nice bar to hang out at in Santa Monica. The sign is a little bit hard to see from the street, so follow your GPS to get here! You can park in one of the Santa Monica parking structures across the street and then walk here, so that was nice. I was there at about 9 pm on Friday, and it wasn’t too crowded. Enough peeps so that the place wasn’t barren, but not so crowded that I couldn’t get a seat. More people did come in as the night went on, but nothing crazy packed. There were two booth seating areas that didn’t weren’t reserved that night, so I asked the bartender if my group could hang out there. Score! I think reservations are free anyway, so that’s nice to know in the future, too. The appetizer special that was advertised on all the tables that night was guac and chips. I must say that was some of the best and freshest guacamole I’ve ever tasted! The servers were all really nice and friendly, and I saw one of the bartenders going crazy at the bar with some mad bottle skills. ;) Good place to hang out with friends and listen to some pumpin’ old school beats from the DJ in the corner.

Loved this neighborhood Santa Monica bar when I tried it recently. They have happy hour all night on Mondays which is $ 5 off craft cocktails, $ 2 off beer, and a few bucks off wine. The cocktails were legit, and I really liked how they had real food such as deviled eggs and stuff that looked delicious. It’s kind of funny that they don’t list the beers on the menu but instead just say the type(i.e. IPA) and wing it! If it’s not too busy there are two booth rooms where you can get extra privacy for a small group of up to 6 people. It’s owned by the same people as the next door restaurant The Independence.

This bar/lounge is great for Happy Hours($ 5 drinks). HH all of Mondays and 5:30−8pm from Tues. — Saturdays. I ordered their raspberry mojito and that was quite delicious. I wouldn’t come here for food though. There aren’t a wide selection — we ordered their artichoke dip with toasts(3⁄5). Hop on to The Independence next door for food instead and end your night here.

This spot is a great people watching bar with a cool vibe and good music. Primarily a young professional 20 and 30 something crowd on the particular Saturday night I went with a group of friends. The bartenders were very friendly and on point and kept the drinks flowing quickly despite a pretty big crowd. Impressive. I will be back the next time I’m in Santa Monica. :)
