Cafe At The Shores

The food is poor quality, tastes bad and really overpriced considering. The business model is clearly to capitalize on convenience for residents and employees of The Shores. I’m only giving them 2 stars because everybody is always very friendly. I am not exaggerating. It is the worst food I have ever paid for every time. I hope they hear this and put a little pride in their menu and realize that we’re all human beings so having a business of getting the most money they can for the lowest possible quality is a lousy thing to do. Please evolve to be better and you will find the support of customers, make more money and start enjoying what you do. Ps… I eat out every meal and entertain my many guests. I really wish you would step it up so I enjoyed spending my money there. I’d probably spend between $ 500‑1000 per month. Think about it. This effort in putting in is to help us both, not just complain. All the best.

I used to occasionally get their food delivered and other than the extreme inconsistency in the menu, the melted to go containers and the slow delivery, it wasn’t too bad.
But tonight, I placed an order for delivery online and after waiting nearly an hour I got a phone call, thinking it was someone calling to tell me my food has arrived. I was wrong. Instead, it was a woman asking if I had placed an order for $ 13.00. I told her yes and she told me that their delivery minimum was $ 20.00 and that they hadn’t even begun to start making my food. I told her that on the website it states that the minimum is $ 10.00 and that I had already been waiting an hour believing I would get my food any minute. Long story short, I canceled the order and regretted even bothering.
I am so disappointed and hungry and I will never order from here again. I suggest you don’t either.

I tried to give this place another shot — because all things deserve a second chance… usually.
I ordered the Chicken Cobb Salad. The chicken was boiled, brown, dried up and super hard to chew. The avocado in my salad had a lot of black spots on it, which meant it was probably going bad. They put 1 big strip of bacon on top — uhhh what happened to bacon bits? There was only half of a boiled egg and a TON of romaine lettuce.
The salad was an absolute failure and completely not worth a penny! I’m by far disappointed with this place and definitely will not be returning after the poor quality and taste of the food here.

Worst experience ordering food EVER. First, it took over two hours for it to arrive in the middle of the day and I live 6 blocks away (I know, I know, I was really sick). Then, the sweet potato fries that I paid an extra $ 1.50 for didn’t show up along with the chives I ordered for another $ 1.25 extra to accompany my turkey chili. Apparently these so-​called «extras» are just a way for them to charge you more without actually providing you with the goods.
Then, the first bite of my turkey chili contained a 3−4″ long piece of hair. Starving as I was, I turned to my chicken club sandwich that, despite its inclusion on the «popular items» list, did not deserve to be called a sandwich… It would have been more aptly referred to as a pile of soggy crap smeared with a ridiculous amount of mayo.
I was starting to feel better but after that food, I’m going to be sick for at least another week.
You’d be better off flushing your money down the toilet than giving it to these guys. NEVER AGAIN!

The Shores Kitchen is definitely a hidden gem. We had a delicious pasta catered for our meeting and their red sauce is beyond delicious — everyone had thirds. For the price, the portions are large and the food is great.
They are located right upstairs USPS and if the door is locked just call the number and they will send someone to open the door for you. I did wish that there was more signs to let you know where the Café at the Shores was, it was a little difficult to locate if you’re not a resident, but the owner and the team was so sweet and helped me find my way!

I have had two encounters with this business.
#1 — Ordered for delivery. Took food almost 3 hours to arrive. The delivery woman was very apologetic and added free desserts to the package as she felt terrible for the delay. I had called their restaurant twice in those three hours and they stated one of the chef’s did not come in that day so they were overwhelmed. I was forgiving as I enjoyed the food, even though the two salads I also ordered were left out.
#2 — I attempted to place an order, using the $ 25 voucher (paid $ 20 for it) I purchased on Unilocal.I had trouble using it with the person taking the order and ended up speaking to the manager (a female… don’t recall her name). She told me several times she was not aware of any vouchers, had not received a payment in her bank account for the voucher I apparently purchased, and would not honor it. She was very rude and unhelpful. All she offered was $ 5 off my order and still would not honor the coupons if found on EatStreat and one other website, that I used for my first order. Terribly disappointing. I will never do business with this establishment again. Highly unorganized and unfortunate for the employees who did try to help me with these issues and the chefs who made the great food.

The Shores Kitchen is a gem. The food is amazing. The service is beyond. The owner is gorgeous. I’m so grateful for the way they take care of me and my kids. I highly recommend it!

Bonnie is NOT the owner and has vacated the premises. The food is very good and fresh, made to order. The pizza is great too. I don’t know what they do with the pasta sauces, but they are way above my expectations each time we go there.
Check it out, open to the public and they deliver!

Only 4 stars since its a bit difficult to find (not mad about that… shhh let’s keep it a Santa Monica secret)

I hardly ever give 1 star reviews, however I was told my delivery time would be 30 – 45 minutes at 8:15pm. It’s been almost 2 hours and my food isn’t here yet. I just tried calling (for the 2^nd time) and no one picked up because they are no officially closed after 10pm. Do I just give up or do I keep waiting?

Some damn good food especially for the price. I enjoyed the Shore Burger medium rare with a side of sweet potato fries and the Italian Sub sandwich. Expect reasonably quick service and, if you’re staying at The Shores, you can have it delivered to your apartment like room service.
The selections are basic diner fare but done very well.

This is an update to my earlier review. Bonnie, the owner, called me after reading my previous review, and gave my a full refund and said they were working on the delivery containers. While my opinion of our meals hasn’t changed, I really appreciate the customer service.

Stumbled upon this place while visiting someone who lives in the towers. It’s in an odd location, but that keeps it quiet! The staff were very kind and patient with me when I spotted a flyer advertising 20% off if I signed up for RushOrder, and I took a few minutes setting up an account. Chicken pesto pasta was delicious, made even more so with the discount. This place is a bit pricey for my socioeconomic status (starving college student) but with the discount and amazing service I’ll definitely be back, even if to just pick up a juice on my way to the beach!
Note: there’s parking in the far side of the apartment parking lot, you need to pick up a voucher!

Happened to try out their food while visiting one of my friends who lives in one of those towers. I was pretty surprised to see that they were on the RushOrder mobile app, and that this small shop was keeping pace with all this new technology these days.
I personally thought their pizza was amazing. It’s kind of out of the way for me to come by this place, but if I were living in one of the towers over there, I’d probably be a regular. Haven’t tried anything else, but the pizza itself warrants 4 stars for me!

Love the pizza here. This place is a bit hard to find so I’m glad they deliver. They’re also really quick with my order, so I’m not starving to death by the time they reach my apartment. Anytime I am in the mood for a night in, this is my go to spot.

I’ve only ordered delivery once (even though they’re only 2 blocks from me). There was a problem with my order and they went out of their way to make it right. As a customer, I think they salvaged the relationship the absolute right way. I’m craving pizza and about to place my 2^nd order.

I order food from here all the time and the food is always excellent. Well today for the first time out of all the times I ordered food (the club sandwich) the chicken was tough. I called back and without hesitation they sent over a new sandwich which was perfect.
Everybody makes mistakes, it’s how you handle them that makes the difference. They have lighting fast delivery and great food! I highly recommend this place.

Phenomenal!
This place has changed drastically under new management for the better. The food is absolutely delicious and affordable! The staff is really lovely and knows what they are doing.
I recommended to everyone. They have a great menu and selection. The pizza has changed my life, never again will I Dominos! Delicious!
The meatball sub comes from an homemade meat, 100 percent good meat, not just filler like bread crumbs or cheap meat. It’s all high quality food for good prices! Our lives have drastically improved because of this place, seriously, it’s made good food accessible in a way it hasn’t been before with the delivery and ease.
I don’t usually think to Unilocal places but I had to get the word out!

I recently went to The shores kitchen and I have to say this place has improved dramatically !!! The new menu is really good, the food quality excellent, and the staff is helpful an attentive! They also have Wifi and a brilliant view of the sunset!!!
