Burger Lounge

When this location first opened, the food was top-​notch: the meat was well seasoned, fries and onion rings didn’t soak the to-​go back with grease, orders were filled correctly. My last two visits here were both big disappointments. A week ago they didn’t include the order of fries I paid for. And tonight the food was poorly prepared (dry and under-​seasoned beef, extremely oily french fries. And by the way, WTF with Unilocal in Santa Monica?! Every f’ing burger joint has 4 stars – how is that possible???

If I could give this place zero stars I would! The customer service was horrible and I will never be returning! You can count on that.

Never been let down by this place, everyone there is spectacular and nice. The service is what made me a local though! If your in town definitely take a lounge here.

Mainly I’m disappointed with online ordering. You still must wait in line to receive your order, as you have to sign the credit card slip at the register. The line can be rather long, out the door long. Not a good option for a lunch break.
On a side note my burger only had pickles, onions, some ketchup, — I must have missed something on the order page. Thought it came with lettuce, tomato, mayo, without having to add to the order. Was cooked correctly, and was tasty tho.
I probably will never order online again.

Wow. This place is AMAZING! The food is fresh, inexpensive and delicious. The onion rings were probably the best I’ve ever had. I ordered a turkey burger and it was melt in your mouth goodness. My kids scarfed their burgers down with delight! Jamal who worked here was so friendly and helpful. He made sure we were happy with everything. We are from out of town and will be telling everyone about this place!

Better! Back to the old standards. The fries were totally on point this time, and while my burger patty was still flat, at least they amped up the flavor a bit. Bun was fab, too. Now just wish they’d make a kid’s size shake… then I’d have nothing to complain about.
Sidebar: I REALLY crave cheeseburgers sometimes. I don’t eat a lot of meat, but when the cheeseburger shakes hit me, the hunger becomes all consuming. And from where I sit, at the top of the hill in Santa Monica, there aren’t a lot of great burger joints: Umami is temporarily closed, George’s Burgers gives me the Hep C paranoias, Finn McCool’s costs a gajillion dollars, and who wants to hit the very edge of the Pier for tourist trappy bits. Burger Lounge is kinda all we got, so I’m glad this lil’ shop is back to knockin’ it outta the park.

First time in Santa Monica we got a bit hungry after walking around the Pier and Beach a bit and couldn’t agree on anything good. Headed back to the parking garage and found the Burger Lounge right next door, also the Fresh Eats/​Veggies place in the corner but still neighbors. So my wife and I decided to give this a try while other family members searched for pizza. She had the classic with bacon while I devoured a delicious Husky burger along with their chocolate shake. The fries and burgers were splendid… the ranch and BBQ compliment both the burgers and fries dreamily. Venue was clean and hip and prices we actually more reasonable than I expected. This is a fantastic place for a burger. Though the cashier I had didn’t seem to have any enthusiasm, other members did. May have been a busy/​down day for her but that happens. Overall giving the Burger Lounge 4 out of 5 stars!

If you’re in SM and in the mood for a burger, this is a solid option to satisfy your craving. Burger Lounge has a great Lounge Burger with 1000 island dressing, which is essentially their take on an In-​N-​Out burger. I like the idea of eating healthy and Burger Lounge claims that they use grass-​fed beef and organic ingredients. I can’t exactly vouch for that, but either way, the taste of the food definitely isn’t compromised. Their fries and onion rings are also pretty tasty, however the burgers are huge, so I usually don’t even have room for them. But if you do decide to get them, definitely ask for a half and half order of fries and onion rings.
In terms of service, the staff are very friendly and helpful. They promptly clear away plates and refill drinks. And even if you’re in a big group, the food comes out very quickly. My only complaint would be that they seem kind of stingy on the napkins: they only bring you one with your food and there aren’t any at the table. You have to go up to the front and ask for extras if you need more. If you’re a messy eater like me, you’ll see what I mean.
The outdoor seating is great to take advantage of on a sunny day. And at night, they have pretty, twinkling lights outside that create a cute ambience.

Ordered online, came to pick up my food and it was cold and they hadn’t included any of the sides. Organic and grass fed is cool and all but probably goes down better when warm and with the fries you ordered.
Maybe the dine-​in is better, but come on.

This is such a great spot to relax at after a day at the pier and shopping on the promenade. The service is quick and the workers are all very nice and helpful! It is also a very affordable option for this area.
I love that you have the option to have a mini burger! Sometimes you just don’t want to stuff yourself with a huge burger, especially after being in the sun. You even have the options to get white cheddar here, I love white cheddar so I always think this is an added bonus. I normally get the lounge style burger but the turkey burger is really good too. I also like that you can get ½ fries and ½ onion rings. Its great to split.
Their drinks are organic, cane sweetened and fair trade with really good options like a Shirley Temple. I really enjoy them!

I was looking for a tasty and decently priced burger place in Santa Monica and I’m so glad found this place! Ambiance is casual and the staff is very friendly. Very comfortable place, very decently priced, portions were great and the food was excellent. Plus, there were complimentary sauces and free refills on my passion fruit iced tea. Great place!

Ventured here with friends after work. Stood in line, gave my order: Lounge Burger with bacon, regular fries, water to drink. Burger came out several minutes later and was quite tasty. Fries were good. Food tastes very fresh, very flavorful.
The condiments (I tried the ketchup and ranch) also tasted very fresh, made in-​house perhaps? A friend had the chicken tenders (Chicken Digglers?) and they were uhMAYzing. I’m going back with the kiddies just to order summa those. Yum!
I appreciate the servers coming to the table to check on you, refill drinks, and clear the table. Great service and good atmosphere.
Located close to parking structure. I had just enough time to park at the garage, dine, and get back without having to pay for parking.

OMG what a find! We happened into this place while wandering along the promenade — The burgers were absolutely delicious — and the special house made ranch sauce was scrumptious — I wanted to take a gallon home with me!
The place is just a little hole in the wall and didn’t look like anything — we figured we were just getting a burger… but what a burger it was!

Went to Santa Monica for a day trip and stopped here for lunch.
I ordered the little burger done «lounge style» and this mini burger really hit the spot! The meat was juicy and tender that burst with flavor, and the best part is everything that comes on it is all organic. I ordered a regular size fry to go with it (organic as well) and they weren’t too oily or salty and quite filling (I could only eat half of the little bag they serve it in). All together it was about $ 10 which isn’t bad considering the fantastic quality.
The restaurant was kept very clean and staff would come around to top off water and give you extra napkins even though it’s an «order at the counter» kind of place. There’s even outdoor patio seating if you want some fresh air, and it’s a shared space with Tender Greens next door in case you have a party that wants to split up between restaurants but eat together outside.
If I’m ever in Santa Monica again (which I will be!) I’ll definitely be back.

I used to frequent the Burger Lounge in Hollywood and have only had a next-​to-​perfect experience each time. This was my first visit to the Santa Monica location. Although you can’t go wrong with their burgers and fries, I’m motivated to write this review based on their service alone. Just incredible. Other pluses: great location + great burgers.

I say or because the update is not for the burgers. Burger lounge has more than just burgers. I completely enjoy the vegetable salad, chicken digglers and the fries are better than the first try. The mint lemonade is still full of flavor and claiming. I love this stuff.
If you are near a Burger Lounge mosey on in and give it a try.

Grass fed beef, yes please. The burger lounge is fast casual with impeccable food quality and great customer service. Parking is limited to street parking with meter, good luck. Order up a burger or salad along with a shake, mint lemonade or another goodie and have a seat. The patio is quiet and beautiful on a sunny day, which is abundant here in Cali. Our first visit to burger lounge and we felt welcome when we first stepped in. Order from the counter and get a pager and they bring the food to your table along with any additional requests you may have. They also come by and pick up your plates and cups. Back to the burger tho. The grass fed beef was cooked a perfect medium well. Not too thick and not to thin. Juicy and simply seasoned. The bun was melt in your mouth at first bite. We will be back for sure.

Very cool place with really good vegeterian, quinoa based burger. Mix of french fries and onion rings was good option as well. Friendly and quick service.

First timer here on a weekday for lunch! I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while. I got the turkey burger, lounge style with white cheddar, bacon, and the other items they normally put. It was good, but honestly, the turkey patty itself didn’t have as much flavor as I’d hoped. The menu says there is LOTS of fresh basil but I didn’t really taste it. I like the type of bun they use. The onion rings were so-​so. I liked the fries! The lavender mint lemonade wasn’t as good as I’d hoped either. I know they had a bison burger, but I guess they had discontinued it.
However, I can taste the good quality of the ingredients. It was a «clean-​tasting» burger, if that makes sense, meaning it wasn’t greasy and heavy. I’d return again.

Si hay algo que amo en la vida son las hamburguesas y el centro de Santa Monica y aqui se junta todo. Estas hamburguesas son organicas, se supone que las vacas se alimentaron solo a pasto y cero alimento balanceado. La hamburguesa de buen sabor pero medio incomodo de comer porque se va desarmando. La cocinan a punto, medio jugosa pero te preguntan si eso esta bien cuando te toman el pedido. Los chicos que atienden son re hipster, muy diferente a los que te atienden en locales de comida rapida en USA.

This is an amazing go-​to burger place if you are on the run or shopping on the promenade. It is clean and the burgers are delicious.
Almost all the ingredients here are organic and the meat is free range so it doesn’t have any hormones.
I had the turkey burger and I loved it. I felt full after but a healthy full. The tomatoes and lettuce were fresh. And the house thousand island dressing was delicious. I would order this again.
You have to try their onion rings! They are crunchy on the outside and as soon as you bite in, hot air escapes. Paired with ranch dressing, I was in heaven. I honestly finished my onion rings so quickly that I couldn’t even finish my turkey burger.
I enjoy this place a lot.
