I went here for the Dine L.A. Lunch Menu. 3 courses for $ 25 plus tax drinks and tip. The Hostesses was Perfectly Charming and seated me right away and we had a nice, brief conversation. The food was Delicious. The 3 stars comes in for getting my dessert order mixed up, no refill on my water and what I hope was a miscommunication between myself and the waiter regarding the bill. I actually wanted my change and I did Not get it back as the waiter didn’t return. The Service was fine Yet my gratuity was not determined by me, as it should have been as I was a party of 1.

Boa Santa Monica’s main appeal: Upscale steakhouse with very casual environment. You want your $ 50 – 60 prime steaks and $ 12 sides but you don’t want to dress up or make a reservation? This is your spot. Walk in anytime, you’ll likely be able to find a table, and sweats, shorts, sandals, and tanktops are okay. No BS, no snootiness, just your average everyday people and tourists(except at $ 100 a person). As for the food, it is an excellent steak as you would expect and hope at this price. So are the sides and salads. Normal upscale steakhouse fare. Their $ 4912 oz filet is exceptionally lean and smooth. Mastro’s is better, and I’d argue Boa West Hollywood is better too, but those are far more fussy, «special occasion» type places. The ambiance is also much quieter here, so you can actually have a conversation. The main problem for me — the drinks. They were weak. Steakhouses are known to have giant pours — well, not here. 3 drinks here was basically the equivalent of one at Mastro’s. Even Boa West Hollywood has stiffer drinks. I guess it’s a Santa Monica thing to have weak drinks.

Small bar area that I would rate as bellow adequate. Good service. Good location. Portions on the small side. Pricey. Food was good, including the foie grass appetizer and a filet mignon. But not remarkable.

Very Very good steakhouse. It’s worth every dollar, their steaks are cooked to your specific order and I loved that my medium rare was actually medium rare! Bring anyone you wish to impress but know that it is an upscale establishment right off Ocean Blvd in Santa Monica so it’s not going to be Outback prices. Expect to spend about $ 150 a couple for 2 great steak dinners and a few drinks. If you order anything that isn’t red meat you’re completely missing the specialty of this restaurant.

One of the best dining experiences. Impeccable service, no judgment and keen to have a laugh whilst remaining professional. We shared a seafood platter for four between six as an appetizer, great portion size. A for amazing!

Don’t get me wrong, I love boa and it’s my fave steakhouse but this was my first time at this location. The interior feels very crowded compared to the west Hollywood location and I think it’s a little smaller too. Food was good, our waiter was kind of rude though. Came in with a group of 12 people and maybe he thought we couldn’t afford it so his attitude was cold. The bill came out to $ 1,058~ and he took it upon himself to remind us that gratuity isn’t included which we already knew. I got foie gras as appetizer and petite filet mignon with herbed butter and peppercorn sauce. The gnocchi was good too but it’s super cheesy. Butternut squash was better than I expected. I probably wouldn’t come back to this location, def would go to west Hollywood. Service is much better there

Wanted to try BOA for some time now, and what better than on Dine LA restaurant week?! We definitely had a good server. As you know for Dine LA you have to choose from a preset 3 course meal. I had the Cesar salad, as the first course, which was delicious a must try. Second course I had the salmon which was a tad under cook for my taste but none the less good. And finally the desert was a tri color ice cream which was nothing special in my opinion. I also tried the short rib which was part of the 3 course meal. Meat was tender and nicely cooked. It’s a go restaurant for me on Dine LA restaurant week!

Had a great experience here. Made a reservation through OpenTable. Upon arriving, we were seated immediately and I was greeted as though they all knew who I was which was lovely. Service was prompt, helpful, timely. The space is cool, although felt a bit cramped. I’ve been to the BOA location in Beverly Hills which I LOVED, but here the space must be smaller because it felt cramped. We were seated outside and the tables next to us seemed SO close, like maybe just 2 feet away. The food was ample and great. Ordered the filet mignon, mashed potatoes, fries, and smashed broccoli which was all great. Also a complimentary baked alaska with a huge sparkler for a birthday! The ONLY thing that I did not enjoy as much was how loud it was. Overall I just felt like I was struggling to hear what my friend was saying because it was so loud inside. I was hoping the place would be more romantic, but unfortunately didn’t seem like it.

Vibe: Classy/dressy/calm with dim lighting. If you take a date I recombined the outdoor/glass patio seating area for a more romantic and quieter experience. Food: Delicious food, always prepared very well. High quality meat, whichever steak you choose will be tasty. Some of the meat portions are a little small, but that’s expected. Sides and wine are tremendous as well. Service: Attentive, mostly amiable, and typically give good recommendations if you need help. Overall: Great place on the westside for a steak or a nice dinner date. If you want larger, meatier portions it’s best to head to Beverly Hills.

Really really good food. And the meat was cooked perfectly to our requests. Everything we had was phenomenal. I especially liked the cheddar bacon mashed potatoes and Mac n cheese sides. And the BLT salad was amazing. I wish I saw that there was a corkage fee of $ 25 so we could’ve brought our own bottle of wine. But they have a vast selection. We left full and happy!

Came here last week. The tuna tartar and beef carpaccio for appetizers and 4 oz wagyu($ 23:oz) with a lot of sides(asparagus, mushrooms, mashed potatoes, steamed veggies). Tuna tartar was great; carpaccio was good but a little too smokey for me(and I like smokey). Friends had the crab cake. I also tried the bone marrow — this was my first time trying bone marrow but it was seasoned well and very rich/oily. Wagyu was ok but I think it was a little over cooked although I had it medium. For drinks I had the pineapple casamigos tequila drink that was good. Good service. Smores and cotton candy for dessert. Extremely pricey but an experience. A friend said she liked Mastros more(I kind of agree) but overall happy.

Sorry I need to update this review. I don’t know what I was thinking earlier when I said I had better steak at other places. That was before I had the magnificent Cajun Cowboy Ribeye. My husband and I dream about this and it tastes even better the next day if you pack your leftovers! We’ve come here several times since just for that steak, and will continue to do so. Their mac & cheese is bland & way below mediocre though, so I don’t advise you to get that if you are a true mac & cheese lover! Their fries are also mediocre. Just come for the Cajun Cowboy Rib Eye and goat cheese baklava!

We ordered delicious steaks with lobster mashed potatoes and a variety of martinis and beer. I would totally recommend«the clean» martini. It’s light, fresh and delicious. We sat in the lounge area in front of the bar and enjoyed the dark ambience with privacy and Sunday night football. Great drinks, great food and lots of love going around… what else can you ask for.

This is a great steak house! Love the truffle fries. Delicious bread and butter. My favorite is the filet medium rare. It is always perfect here. The drinks are always good. Tried the chopped salad just OK has grabonzo beans which I don’t like. I think a wedge would have been a better choice. Really like the broccoli mashed side. The service here is the best!

Yes, it is expensive but it’s a great splurge for a special occasion or a meal with family /friends where great steaks take center stage. The restaurant was quiet enough(although full) we could talk easily. Our waiter was experienced and professional. Our water glasses were kept filled. The rolls were fresh and served individually helping prevent over-eating before the ‘good stuff’ comes. Steaks come with optional rubs and sauces. I had the bacon jam(sweet with small pieces of bacon) and Cabernet sauce(thick and flavorful) which were both good. We enjoyed: — Lobster ‘Escargot’(tender lobster, freshly baked puff pastry) — Mixed Greens Salad(my son’s girlfriend has had the Caesar prepared at the table and she says it is great) — Bone in Rib-eye(great meaty flavor, tender) — Chilean sea bass(large piece) — Mac N Cheese(none of us really liked this. Cheese sauce overwhelmed the pasta and the texture was odd) — Crab & black truffle gnocchi(very good) — Brussels Sprouts & Bacon(lots of bacon pieces) — Chipotle Lime Corn(smoky, sweet, tart) — Special Dessert — Apple tart with Cinnamon ice cream(flaky shortbread crust — excellent) — Cookies and Ice Cream(not much ice cream but 2 very large cookies) It was a very nice dinner and we will be back.

Located walking distance from the Santa Monica beach. Greeted and seated on the outside patio. Seating would be small and cramped if it was crowded. Came here to celebrate my birthday with a nice bone in rib eye. Started off with Caesar salad which was prepare and tossed at your table side. You clearly knew what you were eating and the different ingredients that was going into your dressing. You were able to taste a hint of tabasco in the dressing which gave it a nice kick. I got the 21 day age bone in ribeye steak, cooked med and I added a herb butter to compliment my steak. Steak was good but not as flavorful as I expected. The herb butter was a nice touch to the steak. Garlic mash potato to share for the both of us. Delicious, creamy and just enough for 2 – 3 people to share. Was given a complimentary dessert for my birthday with a firework show, so it felt like.

What a wonderful experience. Delightful spot excellent steaks and accompaniments with swift friendly service. Wine special at half price is fabulously worth while in Sundays. The oysters were super fresh and the fois gras with the accompanying breads and jam was phenomenally tasty. Squads were good although the concept of the wedge being chopped was a little foreign. Steaks were sumptuous and cooked perfectly. The grilled half garlic clove was of paste consistency and worked well with all the food. Superb experience.

The perfect romantic spot by the water in Santa Monica. It’s just a few blocks from the 3rd Street Promenade, so you’ll have things to do after your dining experience here. Came in for a romantic early Valentines dinner and was seated at a corner closed patio table. It was the perfect table for us, since we like to sit together. What we ordered: Beets Salad: LOVED! Yes, I love beets! This salad was perfection! Light fluffy feta cheese, honey roasted pecans, strips of apple, baby kale and of course the sweet blood red beets. Yellowtail and Ahi Crudo: Light and refreshing. A tad bit too much salt sprinkled in, but enjoyed it. Grilled Prawn: I loved my Prawns. Came in 5 jumbo sized pieces, well seasoned with a side of garlic butter sauce for extra bursting flavors. Rib Eye Steak(Med): Although, the BF asked for medium cooked, it was pretty well cooked. We didn’t bother sending it back because he had already cut a fourth of the steak for me and took about 2 bites before realizing it was more well cooked then medium. Still had great flavor to it. Side of Chipotle and Lime corn: WOWPOW! «I’m in love with chipotle.» This was a great side dish. Like some restaurants, whose signature corn dish is creamed corn, I loved the light spice and citrus-y flavor to this amazing side dish. To finish off: The Strawberry butter cake topped with vanilla ice cream was… …Amazing! the butter cake was soft and warm on the inside, crispy outer crust, topped with delishes ice cream and fresh strawberries. I couldn’t stop eating it. Wonderful service. I’d definitely recommend this location. I would love to come back for the lunch menu some day.
