Art’s Burger was great! I like the outdoor seating and gave me a feel of being in the community. Also I enjoyed the beer selection. Great place to bring a date.

I got a little list wandering around today and the detours from the LA Marathon ended up spitting me out right in front of this place. What a pleasant surprise. I think I had the BEST burger I’ve ever had out of my own house. This was really something special. Everything was really fresh and you can taste the quality. We sat at the bar and were very well taken care of. Quick on the refills and great suggestions. I had«aoili» for the first time too. It was amazing with the fries. I will definitely be back and I’ll be bringing friends with me so be ready!

«You gotta try the Johnny Cakes!» I did — that’s an item that now gets crossed off my bucket list. The Cakes were OK in the end, but the cornmeal was a little like wallboard until I broke down and started pouring the accompanying maple syrup onto my stack. Most of the other dishes that I saw around the room looked pretty good. Art’s is very popular at brunch time, and the kitchen and servers do a pretty good job keeping everyone happy. I’m glad that I came this one time, but I’m not sure that I’ll want to return. If I do, you won’t see me with Johnny Cakes in my plate.

Two words, kale salad! This restaurant has hands down the best kale salad I’ve ever had(I’m quite the kale salad eater), I even tried recreating it at home but it wasn’t the same. I usually order my kale salad with salmon. I’ve also tried the turkey burger & meat balls from here, however kale salad always takes it home for me. Every time I’ve came here the service has been prompt and the servers very pleasant. You can’t make reservations through open table, however every time I’ve gone there’s been no wait. I would definitely recommend this place, I’m always craving and trying to recreate their kale salad that’s how good it is.

I came here because I was going to meet a friend at Father’s Office but that place was so uncomfortably crowded and I didn’t want to wait in a dark, crowded place by myself so I walked down the block and found Art’s Table. I told the hostess that I needed to wait for my friends and she told me she would save our table and had me sit at the bar to wait. I ordered one of their special drinks. I believe the name was something like Punch Me in the Face. Felt weird telling the bartender that’s what I wanted. haha. A bit slow on service, but I was in no hurry. Drink was fantastic. Sweet, fruity, and refreshing. The actual fruit chunks reminded me of a sangria. Quite pretty. No one had a problem with me sitting at the bar for over an hour. Chill crowd and servers. When my friends came, our table was saved as promised. I ordered the Roasted Niman Ranch Pork Belly. The meat caramelized to the point of nearly being charred but kept juicy by the high fat content. Guiltily delicious. You’ll enjoy this is you like sweet marinated meats. Excellently executed! I had asked if it was soy and wheat-free and was told yes, it is. I don’t think it was as I felt all my «you ate soy» or «you ate wheat» symptoms later. If you’re sensitive to either, I’d be wary. Perhaps the restaurant could train the employees better about what foods contain potential allergens, etc. Cute, trendy restaurant that’s great for dates. Love this place! I miss it as I write this review.

Cute little restaurant! The inside is cozy and intimate, while the outside patio allows for great people watching on Montana. Great for an alfresco lunch or a cozy and casual date night dinner. We enjoyed all of our food and the service was incredibly friendly and attentive. Here’s what we got: Eggplant Parm(4⁄5 stars): healthier and lighter than your average eggplant parm. It came in 4 little stacks. Finger licking good! Curly fries(3⁄5 stars): average curly fries. Good, but nothing special. Rigatoni special(4⁄5 stars): one of their seasonal items, flavorful and delicious! It had crispy eggplant pieces which were to die for and was topped with ricotta slices. Seabass(4⁄5 stars): the seabass was perfectly cooked and so light and flavorful. It was served atop a purée of kabocha squash. So yummy! I scooped up every bite of that squash. Oreo banana pan(2⁄5 stars): we weren’t huge fans of this. It’s basically a layer of crumbled Oreos, layer of bananas, and finally a layer of whipped cream. I would’ve preferred the Oreos to have been baked into a tart or cake like consistency and for the layers to be a bit more cohesive. Our waitress noticed we stopped at a bite and asked if she could offer us something else. We weren’t really in the mood for the other options, so she took it off our bill.(Just a taste of the great service we experienced!) Overall, great dinner experience. Stop by if you’re in the area!

One of the things I love about LA is the ease at which you can find a good salad. A salad is the perfect thing for lunch. It’s light enough that you don’t need a siesta after but filling enough to carry you through the afternoon to dinner. Art’s Table had a very impressive salad list. I decided on the kale salad with almonds, Manchego, and kabocha squash. It was such a great salad. The kale had a nice, fresh crunch and the squash was perfectly roasted and tender. The albacore salad with quinoa was also great. Seared albacore was atop a bed of quinoa, pistachios, fennel and radicchio. And if you find yourself craving something other than a salad, there are plenty of other options too. Service was super friendly and it was great to sit outside next to their heaters on a cool Sunday afternoon. Perfect option for a heathy lunch!

So I had driven by a bunch of times, and Art’s doesn’t have the same draw as Ox and Sons or R and D. It just looks like a little local bistro. How surprised I was. I have eaten lunch at Art’s two times, and I was thoroughly impressed. No wonder this place is always packed. The salads are incredible, and they do great little appetizers. This is a perfect spot for lunch or to have a drink and a bite.

Great brunch spot with a lot of different options from sweet to savory to breakfast to lunch. We opted for a sweet/salty breakfast combination and shared the Veggie Eggs(gf gluten free potato pancakes. sauteed kale. roasted pepper. baby portobello. poached eggs. béarnaise. salad) and Whole Wheat French Toast(hazelnut & almond crusted. whole wheat bread. greek yogurt orange cream. maple butter). When it first came out, I wasn’t sure if it would be enough for two to share, but we both left full with a little leftover. I’m a fan of potato pancakes and poached eggs and don’t like hollandaise, so the veggie eggs was like my ideal version of eggs benedict. The french toast was sweet and delicious without a hint of being healthy(wheat) although I did feel less guilty eating it than I normally would with french toast. Bonus — they take reservations for brunch! There’s both indoor and outdoor seating. We opted for indoor because it was really hot and sunny the day that we had brunch.

Prices are on the high side but really not that bad when you consider this is Montana Avenue. The simple interior is comfortably small and doesn’t have many tables. There are a few located on a sidewalk patio area but as this was a cool & foggy Santa Monica afternoon I sat indoors to enjoy my lunch. I ordered the Belly of the Beast sandwich. The combination of tender pulled pork and pork belly was delicious and the jalepeno mustard gave each bite a slight spicy kick. A side of melted gruyère was provided for dipping and really put this sandwich over the top. Absolutely outstanding! Excellent homemade chips(sea salt and vinegar) were provided as an accompaniment. Service was attentive and pleasant. As a side note, they serve breakfast here all day. I really liked this place: 4.5 stars.

I wasn’t too blown away with the customer service here last night. I had a few coworkers tell me to meet up with them after work around 8:40 ish and when I arrived around 9:05 they still haven’t received there one glass of wine. Why doesn’t it take 25 min for wine? No it was not that busy! The waiter was nice, but slow in service, especially when we try to pay. We got frustrated that we all just paid in cash, because he took way too long to come back to us. We didn’t want to use our card because we knew that would take an extra 15 min. The wine, was delicious. Ordered the Resiling, that’s my favorite! But it was very tasty! But the service… Needs to be quicker.

ambiance//**** california chiq… somewhere between a european café outdoors and a bar diner indoors i highly recommend sitting outside and just enjoying the classically gorgeous sm weather~ service//***** i was meeting some people from france for the first time and explained to them that they may come across some confused europeans… they were a pro and handled everything gracefully we had a fairly attentive crew tending to our needs… especially when the snippy wind kept snuffing out the heat lamp =P food//**** yum! everyone else loved their orders and praised me for my pick of the restaurant *PHEW* cuz it was my first time! ty Unilocal! i had the lobster mac and it was delicious… don’t judge it by it’s size cuz it packs a punch! the french ordered the wine and we were all happy with their choice~ so that says something! ~*~ ty to the crew at art’s table for helping me host a fantastic inaugural meeting!~^^

Was okay. The meat dishes were a hit, but the veggie /fish dishes less so. The salads(with protein) were too small to be a meal, and unfortunately had no acid or salt and were oily. Was very cute spot, I used to go to Babalou all of the time, and frankly I preferred it but the restaurant is sweet and dog friendly. Interesting options but I think they need to pump up the flavors in the non meat options and explore spices, etc. as well as offer a bit more on a plate.

This place really surprised me! I’ve walked past the restaurant several times, checked out the menu, and took note of the cool vibe outside. Today I opted to try it, and eat inside. The vibe inside was completely opposite outside. It was like Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy walking in a saloon, unwelcome, in 48 Hours! –which really surprised me, being in Santa Monica! Unfortunately the food matched the vibe. The panini was burned, the glazed onions over cooked, and meat dry(the Au jus saved it)! The sandwich came with over-cooked kettle chips, and duly– over– salted. The best of the meal was the order of fries! Somehow, they just got them right!?!

Incredible food, adorable atmosphere. Took out-of-town parents here. Wasn’t too loud. Food selection was unique. Service was quick. The menu is geared towards«family style’, as in, get a few plates to share. There are small plates(appetizers), smaller plates(sides) and big plates(entrees). It’s pricey but worth paying a little extra for great food, great service and a relaxing atmosphere. The sweet potato gratin and squash were the absolute best I’ve ever had. Even if you wouldn’t normally order squash, try it out. It’s sweet and delicious. We also enjoyed the meatballs, brussels sprouts and sloppy joe french fries.

Came here for lunch on a weekday and loved it! They serve breakfast all through lunch time and they have amazing gluten free and dairy free Johnny cakes(pancakes made of corn) which are out of this world delicious. I also got their Greek corn salad which was exactly how I remembered it! Just Pure Bliss! If you love corn — this is the salad for you and if you don’t love corn — your not from this planet! Service was great and fast and food came out super fast which was a delight. I did make lunch reservations but its not needed on a weekday. However, I imagine on a weekend… it’s probably needed because I just don’t see how this place wouldn’t be busy for brunch! Home run for sure! Loved every bit of my food. I think this is going to be one of my go to lunch spots for sure.

I have been here before quite some time ago and really couldn’t remember the dinner? My bad, so I though I’d give it another go for lunch. Here’s the deal though I only had 30 minutes… I never like to dine under a time frame and don’t like to put the restaurant under any pressure to speed food up. Food is like a baby it needs love and time to grow up healthy. That being said The gentleman at the door said no problem and the server Robert also shared it wouldn’t be an issue. I ordered the breakfast salmon panino which is smoked salmon, medium eggs, tomatoes, lettuce, parsnip pancakes, chives mayonnaise with a salad. It was a great meal. My only suggestion would be to not be shy about the smoke on the salmon. The kudagra was Robert made sure the check was down on my table in 20 min! Way to go, a wonderful meal on time nice… Art you should be proud.

I know when I first tried this place(and reviewed) they had just opened which can always be hard. And I think I even said that in my review. But I’ve been here several times now and the food is great! Very tasty. My husband is obsessed with the short rib sandwich. I love the kale salad. The cornmeal pancakes are great. I also loved the parsnip potato latkes. Yummmm. I like Arts because you can be naughty or be heathy. There’s tons of options. So basically, I will keep going back. Can’t wait to explore the menu further.

I came here last night with a girlfriend who was on a special diet so I had to pick a place that I knew wouldn’t mind substitutions. Being on Montana Ave. and catering to a local clientele of rich folks, I figured this place wouldn’t mind a bit. And they didn’t. They were both accommodating and helpful, and so we had a great dinner over Prosecco and chismis. I ordered the mini lobster rolls and the mini bowl of moules in a jalapeño garlic broth. Do not be fooled as I was by the«small plates» description on the menu. Each of these dishes could’ve been a very satisfying entrée on their own with perhaps a small side salad. The lobster roll was perfection; surprisingly light atop a sweet bread and garnished with fresh avocado. I would return just to make sure the hubster tasted this. Then there were the moules that came in a huge loaf-sized bowl with a couple of slices of bread on top, and thick juicy mussels swimming around in some slurpingly good broth. MANALIVE, that was tasty. I even had some of their homemade maple ice cream for dessert. This place offers delicious cuisine at affordable prices, which is impressive given its snobby locale amidst the fine shops(which are all beyond my budget) on Montana Ave. What a fantastic find! But make a reservation as this place is smallish or you’ll end up in the communal tall table in the middle of the room with strangers who will judge you if you drink directly from that big bowl of moule broth. As it grew later, there was a ton of folks waiting to eat here because they didn’t heed my advise. Always, always make reservations, people. It has saved my sanity(what little of it I have in my old age).
