These people are awful. They were uncaring, rude and incompetent. The owner is awful and made it very clear that my family’s request to be with our loved one during cremation was a huge inconvenience to him. When we said we had questions, he couldn’t have been more put out, he was rude and made it very clear to us that he did not care how we felt about the process at all. And to make it worse, when we went to do the final pick up, they refused to give us our beloved’s remains, stating they could only be released to a specific person, and we had to get a verbal ok to release over the phone before they let us leave with our loved one, none of this was communicated over the phone when we called before driving the 4 plus hours to pick up our loved one. THE WORST MORTUARY EVER.

My son called all the local mortuaries in the area and they were the kindest on the phone. In person they were accommodating of my special requests, professional, compassionate and the lowest price as well. I couldn’t be more relieved not to have to have had any hassles at such a painful time.

Never ever do business with these idiots! These are the rudest, most condescending people I have ever met in my life. Fortunately theres a Mortuary next-​door that I can take my business to.

Okay, okay. Alright. Seriously, who writes reviews on something like this, right? Well, if I didn’t have something really great to say about these folks, I wouldn’t bother, but they really deserve to have something nice about them.
In prepping for my father’s passing, I had called around to the local mortuaries to make some inquiries. When I spoke with Jeffrey Hoffman, there was something about his voice and his nature that made me want to entrust the care of my father with him.
The entire staff is more than professional and certainly compassionate towards family members during the time of their loss. Mr. Hoffman did an outstanding job at explaining everything to my mother and I; he stressed that the business is a family owned and operated one, and the success of their business falls back on strong family ties. This was good news to me, as it told me if they valued their own family, they would probably value mine. Mr. Hoffman was a big help in giving us information on things we may have to do after my father passed, places we could find additional information we may need, getting some phone numbers for us, and explaining exactly what would happen, step by step, once my father was gone. They have been a tremendous help in allowing us to feel that my father has been in good hands. Compassionate and professional, that’s all I can ask for and I’ve gotten it.
This is a morbid topic to write on, I realize, but if someone in the Santa Maria area is looking for a mortuary that will tend to their loved ones after they have passed, look no further than the Hoffman family.
