Downtown Santa Fe has so many food options. Often, places like The Kitchen Window in the Design Center, are overlooked. If you are looking for a great sandwich or cup of coffee, this is the place for you!

My work buddy took me here for a breakfast burro and it didn’t disappoint. The place only had one employee that morning and he handled it like champ. We both got bacon and red hand held to go and it was delicious. I opened my doggy bag at work to find it came with a side of their salsa too, score. I can’t speak for the rest of the menu but to go brekky burros were on point.

Honeslty, this is the best kept secret in Santa Fe. But it shouldn’t be. Their tacos are out of this world and different each day with a daily taco special. They make a killer latte and yes people — they have almond milk. Their cubano is FANTASTIC. And the chips might not be homemade, but they sure taste it! I highly recommend — so get on over to The Design Center! Plenty of room for groups or you can order a take-out and pull up to their take out window.

Great food, great service, great value! I arrived in town yesterday and really enjoyed the migas for breakfast. I came back today for the Cuban. So good! Thanks Jeremiah and Nick!

Actually three and a half stars. Breakfast was good and flavorful, interesting combination of flavors. Espresso was absolutely delicious! Service was pleasant and the staff tries hard to please. The Design Center is a wonderful space with several interesting shops. Lots of parking, at 9 on a Tuesday morning…

The food here is unexpectedly good. I had the grilled cheese club with house tomato soup. The green chile is hot enough to give the sandwich some kick, but not enough to be overwhelming. The best thing you can get here is their fresh juice. The peach apple press is amazing, and has a good amount of flavor and sweetness.

We stopped in for breakfast this morning. There was only one guy working and he gave us fair warning that service would be a bit slow. He was very apologetic about the delay but we really didn’t mind waiting. We chose the kitchen window because the prices were way more affordable than all of the other breakfast places in the area. And I would gladly pay twice the price listed on the menu. I ordered the breakfast burrito without bacon and my husband got the regular breakfast burrito and a coffee. The wait was well worth it. The burrito was by far the best thing I have had for breakfast in a really long time. I love the hash browns mixed into the egg– unusual and delicious. My husband loved his burrito too. The eggs were so tender and fluffy. We will be back the next time we are in town.

Stopped by today for a quick breakfast bite. You have the option to take away or eat in the(blissfully cool) Design Center space. Excellent, strong cappuccino and hash with a hollandaise sauce made for a very tasty and filling meal, will be back!

Ok so I’ve noticed the kitchen window from a distance but had not tried their food until today. Right of the bat the staff was very friendly, i ordered the tacos and was not disappointed they had to have been the best tacos I have had in my life! What could possibly go with tacos to drink? Well I was in the mood for their Carmel Apple Cider, and I am not stretching the truth when I say that this was also the best I have had!

This place is great. The staff i met today was super friendly, and had great customer service. I got a meal, drink and dessert for around 9 – 10 dollars and it was well worth it. I had a frito pie and it was great. The chile wasn’t hot, but the meal was still enjoyable. They are great priced and their food quality is fresh and exceptional.

I ate here with my family on a recent trip to the state capitol building. The food was tasty. They have traditional New Mexican and American dishes but with an interesting twist. Most items will have some form of chile on them, even the biscuits and gravy, so be prepared if you’re not expecting that or can’t handle the heat. One thing my wife especially loved was the calabacitas. It’s a squash/corn/chile/cheese concoction that is grilled on the flat-top. It was amazing, maybe even better than the version I make at home.

In a time crunch, I couldn’t make up my mind and ended up ordering the red chile and cheese enchiladas. I was second guessing myself as I saw plate after plate of exciting and delicious entrees go out to guest in the seating area while I was waiting for my lunch. The red chile cheese enchiladas were just perfect. They tasted as if my mom had made them for me at home. The chile was spicy and had good flavor and the pinto beans complimented the dish perfectly. I also had some of the home made punch, which was a nice change from coke products. Very nice experience. Staff was very pleasant and helpful.

Just had a great lunch at the Kitchen Window, which as everyone says is a sliver of a place hidden in the Design Center. Rachel was cheerful as heck, and the frittata I ordered was just right. Wished I’d taken a photo because I’ve never seen such an interestingly presented frittata. All fresh ingredients, lovely accompanying salad. Great place to have lunch and a coffee for less than ten bucks. I’m a fan.

Food was terrible and I ended up being hospitalized because of food poisoning, I will not be going back to this restaurant.

I first went to the drive thru window and rang the bell and no one came. I then had to get out my stroller and go inside with my baby. The food took a long time and my son was fussy by the time it was ready. It was very greasy and not very good. About three minutes in I was asked to leave because my baby was making to much noise. I was given a cup with no lid for my soup which spilled while I was trying to get my hungry baby back in the car. I thought it would be safe to take him to a mall setting for lunch but I guess not. This is a restaurant that serves grilled cheese and tomato soup but not to kids. If you don’t have children and you aren’t afraid of having a heart attack then go for it. The owner didn’t offer a refund on my food or my tip. I have had children for six years in this town and have never experienced anything but kindness and understanding from business owners. The beestro gives children a free taste of frozen yogurt with a smile and they have a wonderful menu without a bunch of attitude.

Another dining option in the Design Center just blocks from the Capitol and the plaza and I’m liking the menu here. The prices are good, in the $ 5 – 8 range, and the menu offers all day breakfast, sandwiches and salads. I had the Ventana salad and found it filling and full of flavor. Kidney beans, avocado, pickled onions and gorgonzola cheese all added some spice to the dish. My pops joined me and opted for the green chile grilled cheese. He enjoyed it and the small cup of soup that accompanied it. Good stuff all around, excellent prices and a fun menu. I’ll be here plenty when in Santa Fe.

Traditional Santa Fe food with new flavors and in new combinations. Counter service for take-out, or to eat at counters and tables on site. Chef Rachael brings her culinary experiences from San Francisco and Portland back home to Santa Fe. Espresso & coffee, pastries and dishes freshly cooked on order. Daily specials. There’s nothing like it this close to downtown and the government buildings.
