Mid-week mid-afternoon. The daughter had the taco plate and hated it, I tried it and it was just not good, not at all. The wife was just OK with the salmon dish, and I had the strawberry gazpacho, which was OK also. For this, chips, salsa and S. Pellegrino we paid 68.00 which I thought was a little high. We just didn’t get it.

Pretty bad. Sat at the bar and had a bartender with little or no training. Didn’t know much of anything — no clue how to make a Cosmopolitan and then served if with almost all cranberry juice, warm, with well vodka. The specialty drink with watermelon was undrinkable. The beet salad was dreadful. Huge hunks of undercooked, undressed beets, something like cottage cheese, and a whole avocado sliced and undressed. Old coffee grounds were on the plate as some cut kind of edible dirt. I can’t understand how the food and drinks can be so bad at someplace with this history, and prices.

What a romantic and charming gem. On my personal budget, it’s definitely for special occasions, but worth every penny. I followed my fellow Unilocalers advice and asked for a table near the piano and made sure to go after 7 pm. It was a delightful evening of gourmet food and superb entertainment. Soft and cheery live piano is playing in the background of your romantically lit dining experience and about every 5 minutes or so, the lights dim and one of the waiters or waitresses comes up and sings a show tune. I’m not familiar with any Broadway shows or show tunes, but it was still magnificent and entertaining. Each song lasts only about 90 seconds or so, then the lights come back up and the romantic ambiance continues while you eat and wait for the next singer. I think what makes this place so romantic and special is that they are not rushing you or your meal in order to turn tables. There was a good half hour or more between courses(they want you to enjoy the entertainment!) and of course the presentation of the meals is elegant. This would be a great first date spot as there would be little pressure to keep a conversation constant as well as excellent entertainment and food without any rush or pressure to hurry. The food was good but the experience was amazing. It was a night I wont forget anytime soon.

Have dined here many times over the years. My favorite is «Trout baked in blue clay». Call early in am to see if chef will make it.

Calamari was Excellent. Nice spice on the coating. Sharon liked the goat cheese & pistachio egg rolls. I thought they were kind of doughy. We went with two local faves, chicken enchiladas for né and green chile cheeseburger for Sharon. Both were good and filling. Perfect for our mood.

Excellent service and quality. A classic Adobe building with huge wooden beams. It’s service and food were outstanding. Try the sea bass. We loved it.

Good food, great outdoor patio. Unfriendly wait staff. Waitress wrote in a 20% tip to our party of six. Also seemed like we were putting her out by being customers. We will not be returning based on the staff.

I think I’m a treasure hunter at heart. Sometimes I strike it rich and I did at La Casa Sena. All I was looking for was a place to eat, nothing more. Yet, I found a Gem. I sat down and looked over the somewhat pricey menu items with someone playing the Piano. I love music, so already I felt I had done well. All of a sudden the man that seated me took the microphone, thanked everybody for coming and proceeded to sign a song from a Broadway Musical. I LOVE musicals and thought he was just fooling around so I didn’t expect anything more. Several minutes passed and and then a young lady that was serving some nearby tables grabbed the mike and pumped out a Christina Aguilera song. Now I’m really lovin’ it. My waiter gave us a song I had never heard before, but it was equally entertaining. Oh yea, the food… I had Chicken Enchaladas, rice and beans. Not bad, not great. My happiness came from the singing and the piano playing. Go for the novelty of singing wait staff and tolerate the food. Thanks for the pot of Gold, I’ll be back…

Our group enjoyed a fun night out for some good food and fun time listening to Broadway show tunes sing by the wait staff. Entrees were too high priced for their value but the enchiladas were reasonably priced to enjoy and tasty. Downgrades are for price to value. But we had a fun time!

One of the best meals I have ever had. Sit in the bar for fantastic live music… Mostly Broadway musicals.

Antelope burger very good. Recommend the sweet potato fries. Out of the whole wheat ciabatta today which seemed odd as it was only noon. Server seemed new but generally attentive. Wasn’t that good at wine selection but got good recommendations from other severs. Patio is great when weather allows. They had music this afternoon.

Hmmmm. A favorite for many many years, like 20, La Casa Sena disappointed on my last visit. With a $ 36 Foie Gras starter and many esoteric gourmet items such as Pheasant and Elk Rib Eye, Casa Sena sets itself up as a fine dining foodie venue. Most unfortunately, our dining experience did not live up to the bar the restaurant tried to set, nor the one it set in the past. Not sure what has happened! First, we were seated in a tiny room off the main dining room that had two other tables. It was dead and there was no din… There was no music in the room, and we could hear every word everyone was saying round us and it was awkward and uncomfortable. TURNONTHEFRICKINGMUSIC!!! Our server was amateur and did things like not clear our plates, nor replenish our silver ware. Don’t give me a white table cloth and a $ 36 appetizer item if you are not going to change my plates out or give me new utensils, especially after something pungent and strong like foie gras! My Salmon entrée was uninspired and the plating was sloppy and unappetizing. My companion tried the pheasant, which he enjoyed but boy it was teeny. We enjoyed overhearing he conversations. Best overheard quote of the night«My first true love is still alive, and he still loves me… and he is not my husband». TURNONTHEMUSIC!

I could ramble on about La Casa Sena and it’s talented crew for pages. Recommended by Ingrid, the concierge at the Hotel St. Francis, we arrived with a reservation. The menu was delightful, thoughtful and very attractive with selections that are«Santa Fe» without being a yawn. The environment is romantic and intimate. Now, the entertainment… THANKYOU very, very much for your gifted musicians(pianists and vocalists). I really hope they are paid VERY well. They performed mostly musical theatre pieces from old to new and were also our servers! They said they perform all sorts of music from Broadway to standards, modern pop to rock. Friendly, silly, welcoming and professional, these performer-servers were gifted AND, well, entertaining! Your talents are appreciated deeply. You touched me with your music. As a professional musician who has been the resident pianist at fine dining restaurants in California’s southern wine country, I can tell you La Casa Sena is an absolute gem. I WILL be back, hopefully with a huge grip of money to tip you all with. The restaurant /singer — server concept is unique to small cities like Santa Fe. Far too often, the standard blah of modern, big city piano bars just bores me to death. So thank you for making our Easter Eve a positively beautiful experience.

Wow, best wines by the glass ever! And all the waiters are moonlighting Torch singers. They sing show tunes in between telling you the specials. It’s a wild and unexpected treat! Highly recommend visiting the wine shop as well. Food pairs perfectly!!!

Went here for brunch. Food was excellent. It was refined and respectful of New Mexico. Great textures and great flavors. The coffee could have been brewed stronger, but I tend to like it over strong anyway. The service was friendly, down to earth, and pleasant. The live band was a nice touch — not overloud. The price was reasonable given the quality and given that we enjoyed some nice wine by the glass. I hope to visit again soon.

The courtyard is beautiful! I loved sitting out there with friends and having a nice but interrupted brunch last week. Plenty of trees so the sun is never really going to blind you. The food was decent. nothing too special. Prices for brunch weren’t too expensive for a nice setting like this, which surprised me. However, the service was just short of annoying. Greatly appreciated the servers that made sure our glasses were never empty, but there’s really no need to swing by every 5 minutes just to ask if we’re doing okay or want a refill on coffee. A snobby waitress also charged us 3 meals that no one ordered and gave us quite a snarl when we asked her to check it again. 7 entrees for 4 people? Do the math, please. Anyway, a nice place to relax for brunch but I don’t think I’ll be back.
