As someone else mentioned, I had hoped to support a local business as well & started coming here with my boyfriend somewhat regularly in spite of 1 – 2 of the females’ «too cool» attitude. I ordered a large au lait, and there was almost 2 inches of empty space at the top when I received it. I asked that it be filled(as I paid $ 5, always tip 20%). The lady actually rolled her eyes, made loud sounds & complained that some people want«walking room», some don’t & how is she supposed to know?. I told her not to worry about it, and she walked away. When I asked for a Manager, I was told she was it. I was about to leave, and then asked for my $ back. She told me she was going to do as I asked, and as one who works in customer service, and just as a human being, I found her behavior totally unacceptable. Do not give this place your business.

So… I wanted to find a cute coffee spot. This place isn’t the worst, yet it certainly is not the best. It has the feel of a small business — which is great — but I have had better customer service at Starbucks. Saddening, isn’t it?! Especially since I want to support local businesses as much as possible. Oh well. There are plenty of coffee shops in the area, so I’ll only go back if I have to. My complaints are as follows: (1) They assumed I wasn’t staying, so they gave me a to go cup rather than an actual cup, but they did give other customers the option of having a «real» cup. Is that a hint or what? (2) They do not take your name on your order, so they just place your drinks and food on the counter and shout out what they made. This caused confusion for one customer who tried to take my food. The fault is in the employees who are too lazy to bring the food out to the customers. (3) No greetings, thank yous, or goodbyes. Based on those there areas, I do not plan to return any time soon. If I do go back, it will be because of the convenient, free parking and the complimentary wifi.

While I enjoy the iced coffee and the location is near to where I live, the BARISTASARECRANKYANDRUDE. I say this after several visits during the course of three weeks. I would have liked to have made this my neighborhood go-to, but do not need to feel shamed every time I order. Too bad, this former Ohori’s location could have been it.

I went here for lattes, black coffee, and breakfast burritos, because it’s 3 blocks from my house. This is my scathing review. Disclaimer: I have years of experience in indie coffee shops and was trained by Intelligentsia Chicago. So I’m an arrogant coffee snob and it is very hard for any coffee shop to impress me. The lattes are lousy and inconsistent. The ladies make them fine,(not well, just fine) but there’s one guy that does an absolutely horrible job. His foam is always very thin and airy like soap bubbles. Dude in the grandpa hat, I’m looking at you. Reintegrate that stuff. It should be thick and frothy without any air bubbles. I’ve had a latte from a McCafe in rural Missouri that made better foam! I don’t know why it agitates me so much, but when you order black coffee, they still don’t fill up the last inch, and instead of just handing it to you over the register, everyone except the gal that looks like Punk Rock Rosie the Riveter puts it on the other side of the room and doesn’t give you a lid. Dude! I want the remaining 10% of my coffee. And it should be obvious that the only reason to put coffee on the other side of the room by the creamers without a lid is that the customer wishes to add creamer. Just pay attention to the word«black,» fill it up, put a lid on it, and hand it to me. I’m standing right in front of your coffee dispenser. My father bought beans from them while he was visiting me in July. I swear on my mother’s grave, these beans were probably roasted in January. Literally the worst beans I have EVER encountered, including Folgers. For one, it was supposed to be Sumatra, but it wasn’t a dark roast! The beans also had ZERO oil on them and smelled and tasted as stale as the air in a mausoleum. They should be embarrassed. They have tasty breakfast burritos that are trucked in daily. But you have to ask for those cold and then go home and bake them, because this place grills them on a panini press and then microwaves them to finish it off, but they are STILL cold inside. Last, the owner no-called no-showed for work one day and the staffer who was supposed to come in after him ended up opening at 8:00 without anything prepped. That’s understandable if you’re a young hungover Starbucks employee. But owning your own store and then not showing up for work and not even calling someone to do your job for you? Who raised you?! Honestly I’m done with this place, even if it is a quick walk. And I have given it many chances, it just totally sucks.

The service was friendly and the latte was ok. It was much better than the next closest option to our hotel.

I’ve gone to Capital Coffee for a once-in-a-while morning coffee and pastry for the past 2 years. I guess I’m just used to the sad customer service in Santa Fe in general, or I would have stopped coming long ago, but my last visit has finally given me a reason to stay away. When I came in to the shop a few mornings ago, there were no other customers waiting for service, but a few did follow behind me. I ordered a latte from a new gentleman working the register — he was perfectly nice — still learning his new gig. I sat down, waited for my latte, and checked the news on my phone… between 5 and 10 minutes passed as other customers were greeted and chatted-up by the barista, who then handed them their drinks. I didn’t think anything of it, and I wasn’t worried about it until 2 others were treated with the same service and completed orders. I finally thought something must by wrong, walked over to the counter, smiled and said to the barista that I had ordered a latte a while ago(I have a pretty weak, non-threatening way of speaking). The reaction I got was far from what I expected. It honestly embarrassed me as she tried to shame me for my lack of patience by saying, with a tone thick with attitude«yeah, so It’s probably next». I think the look of shock and embarrassment on my face gave her cause to ask me what exactly I ordered then she looked for a ticket with that order — but no ticket was made, so she started to make the drink. When she finished she put the drink on the counter, and in a nasty, sarcastic tone she said to me «You’re Welcome!» I took my drink and left, no drama or attitude on my end. I have a lot of patience from my own experience working in retail and food service, but I’ve had enough of this place. I’d rather go to Dulce or grab of coffee at the coop anyway, so this just made my choice that much clearer.

Mini-review is for latte /mocha only. We thought they were fine but not particularly exciting. There was a good amount of seating. We sat outside, there were a few outdoor tables, but there isn’t really a true patio and for ambience there are probably better choices. It’s also hard to get out of the parking lot if you want to head back towards I-25.

Came here this morning on the way out of town. We proceeded to order and while I was mid-sentence asking about the breakfast sandwich, Mr. Napoleon(short man, short d**k, and obviously, short man attitude interrupts saying,“Time out! Time out!” Mind you, we had only placed two very easy drink orders and he still needed to play catch up. I’m not sure if this little person was the manager or just a barista, but he definitely is not suited to be dealing with human beings. Maybe he’s just too old for this kind of service position, but I’m not here to be his therapist and neither is anyone else simply ordering and paying for your goods. I read another review below that also clearly describes this great addition to the human race, as well. Rise above your attitude, little man. Better yet, quit and do yourself and everyone else having to come in contact with you a huge favor. Time in!

The americano was good, but the service was terrible. I went in with my friend yesterday, and when I greeted the barista at the cash register, I was met with, «can’t wait to get out of here,» and about two other iterations of this same sentiment when I continued to try to have a polite conversation. He never smiled and continued to make comments about desiring to leave, which made me feel very uncomfortable and badly about ordering. That sort of service is very unprofessional and sends a terrible message to the customer. I will stick with busy, friendly, delicious Dulce!

You know what I like? A coffeeshop that not only serves some of the tastiest and most artistic lattes in town, but one that opens before I’ve already had my second cup of coffee at home. They open at 7AM. Every day. Some coffeeshops in town open at NINE. By that time, if I even want another cup of coffee, I’m ready to switch to decaf. They also have comfortable seating inside and out, and free Wifi. This is the place I rely on to get over my early morning grumpy phase. They also have breakfast burritos: nothing special for this foodie town, but not bad. Plus the women behind the counter are very nice, even early.

Great Atmosphere — friendly staff — not a bad place to stop in for a quick coffee break. Had the Vanilla Latte — tasted good. Just across the street from the Capitol Building.

I finally found a good coffee ship right before I had to leave. Not a great location but a pleasant place to sit and sip. Good coffee, friendly staff and I’ve never been in a line of more than 2 people(probably because of the location!)

Great coffee, it was well balanced, not over roasted like much of the coffee in SF. Had a cinnamon roll that was light and flakey on outside and moist and dense as you moved in. It had a perfect bit of cinnamon. Service was quick and friendly. Great experience!

Good coffee, never a ridiculous line like other Santa Fe coffee shops. Friendly staff and non-nausea inducing parking. Glad you guys moved in when O’Horis left.

HORRIBLYRUDE. I have been to this place several times with both my partner and my coworkers. I will not be back and I will no longer recommend this place to anyone. I walked in this morning and was on a muted conference call, listening to report. When I walked up to order a «Large coffee please» the barista just stared at me and did nothing. I waited a bit and then repeated myself assuming she had not heard me. She nastily snapped at me «Well! I didn’t know if you were talking to me or to your phone!». Then she gave me a ghastly, nasty smile that was as mean-spirited as it was unnecessary. Why would I be ordering a large coffee from anyone on the phone??? I was absolutely humiliated and she turned to her coworker to make a snide comment that he heartily agreed with. I was so embarrassed. Now I know that folks in the Santa Fe bubble can be quite judgmental about business and cell phones but it was certainly none of the barista’s business to be rude to customer over her personal opinion. Actually, I work in healthcare and was listening to a very upsetting report about one of my patients. I had decided to get a coffee on may way to my patient’s house. My morning was already starting off on an upsetting note and I was shocked and disappointed by how I was treated at Capitol. Starbucks on St. Francis it is.

Wanted to try this new coffee shop near Kaune’s in Santa Fe. Picked an almond croissant to go with a cappuccino, which turned out to be old and dry. It was replaced by a fresher croissant. Was told by the barista it was because baking in SF was a tricky business. Have lived here for 8 years now and know the difference between fresh and stale. He produced an average coffee which took him a long time to serve. Does it too take longer in altitude?

First visit since it was Ohoris. Coffee was okay, but the joker behind the counter sold me a cinnamon twist as hard as a rock. Thank goodness I had coffee to dunk it in.

This is a great little coffee shop in a great location. The inside is nice, clean and inviting. The staff are friendly(unlike some places in town…) and the coffee and pastries are wonderful.
