Plants are healthy and in great shape. But the customer service is really bad. The desk people are bit better than the ones in the gardens, but they too don’t look very happy. It’s common to talk to one of the workers to ask a question, and they make believe they didn’t hear you. I asked the guy who not only plants the seeds for the vegetables, but is working in that hot house where a certain plant is located, «read the labels» he told me. Other times he doesn’t respond at all — sudden deafness; Maybe they get paid less if they talk to you… Plants of the Southwest is really the place to go to for good customer service AND great plants.

I went to this nursery for the owner Bob’s advice, which is wonderful, and the plants, which can be interesting. However, many are grown elsewhere and shipped in, and there is a no-return policy regardless. Not good. There used to be a staffer named Colin who was also great to talk to but he is gone now. Having said that, there are 2 immature staff members in their 40s there whose behavior is CONSISTENTLY rude and just downright appalling, and unfortunately one happens to be one of the owner’s sons and the other looks like an extra from Mad Max, and is another son. That one is really arrogant! They both seem to think they can act and say whatever they want to a customer, no matter how obnoxious, and in any other company they would have been fired years ago – and indeed, with those attitudes, been hard pressed to find a job at all. It is because of them I will not go back. I feel bad for the rest of the staff also, having to work with these jerks. Better to keep on driving far down the road to Plants of the Southwest – a fantastic place with native plants and a yummy restaurant well worth seeking out.

Was treated horribly at the counter. One of the guys came over and peeled off a sticker from the pot saying the sticker price was a mistake. He looked at me funny and I was perplexed. Saying so what r u implying. They more than doubled the price of it. I I suddenly noticed that same guy swooped in and grabbed the plant from me, taking it away without asking me if I wanted it. I replied with that’s kind of odd how we just took it from me without asking and the guy at the register suddenly felt compelled to defend his partners actions by saying«well he thought you didn’t want it». Great customer service guys. I know I’m in New Mexico but I don’t have to be treated so rudely because im a straight woman who doesn’t appear unfriendly and repressed like your other favorite clientele.

Awesome place. Fair prices. Run by hippies and they know their plants.

Just had a great experience getting a houseplant. Worked with Wayne who made it easy to pick the right plant and get set up with everything I need to take care of it.

Sorry for Karen too. Agua Fria has the best selection in town. The folks at Agua Fria may keep you waiting for advice and direction, but they are some of the most knowledgeable folks in town. I have been going there for 13 years. It’s not for flying in and out quickly, it’s a place to cool down and explore what they have to offer, which is a lot!

Poor Karen A. I am so sorry she had horrible customer service. Must’ve been a bad day a Agua Fria Nursery(AFN from here on). I have been going for a couple of years now and the folks I think are pretty helpful. Example: I was looking for specific rosebush and I asked young girl who didn’t know; she suggested I ask another person that worked there and pointed about 6 feet away to a gentleman that was with another customer. I wasn’t really involved in purchasing this rosebush, I was just curious. So I continued with my shopping. This young woman found me in another part of the nursery and took me back to show me where that rosebush was. I thought that was pretty good customer service. Anyway, I think the nursery is a pretty cool, fun place, lots of variety and knowledgeable and helpful folks. Note: the parking lot is challenging, especially when AFN is really busy. But again, the folks at ANF still help with traffic and finding parking spot for you.

OMG, I went in to get some organic herbs and the guy just stared at me like he had no clue. He didn’t. I said Organic herbs in a pot. He must of been smoking Pot. Jesus no one would even help me and there were several people running around restocking. TERRIBLE Customer Service. Used to bad customer service, after all i was in Santa Fe. But this was the worst! I left and went to another store!!! Geez. Wake the heck up guys!
