This apartment has several unique features that are different from the others. First, they won’t hold a spot for you i.e. first come serve and you will have to pay the rest of that month’s rent as well as the next month’s rent. Second, they will most likely tell you(at least 3 times for me) that there is no spot available even though there may be one. They told me that there is no spot available on my 3rd time, but as I insisted, they showed me two rooms that were available already. While waiting at the office, I heard another lady calling the manager and he told her that there is no room available again. Third, I asked the manager politely if the neighbors are noisy by any chance because I needed quiet environment for studying. The manager suddenly burst out telling me(seemed upset) «If you don’t like the place, then just beat it!(get out of here!)» although I showed no sign of disinterest nor that I was impolite in any ways. Lastly, there are minimal amount of parking space available underground, and you need to wait at least 6 months for the other parking structures near by if you want monthly parking permit. I was planning on moving in but strongly convinced that it is better not to move here and save some troubles in the future. Don’t get tempted by its cheap rent, because you really get just as much as what you paid for. By the way, they accept personal checks only for any payment.

Some of the residents here are… frightening to be around. Not such a good place for a young woman.

One of the reasons why I chose to live here is location, location, location because the St. George is conveniently situated in downtown SC where everything I need(and didn’t realize I needed) is just a walk away. These residences are mostly all studio apartments which is perfect for me since I wanted my own place. The managers/staff folks are inviting and friendly and communicating with them made me look forward to taking up residence here. Depending on where your apartment is facing(window-wise), you can have a view of the courtyard(flower garden), Pacific Ave(people watching) or Front St(parking structure!). Guess which view I have? As far as amenities go, it’s not the newest or the most sophisticated out there but it works for me. There’s a mini gym, a charming outdoor patio, a courtyard with beautiful flowers, laundry room and a small library. The studios come furnished which is a plus(you have the option of bringing in your own tv or bed if you don’t want them to provide them for you). I just wished that we had ovens in the apartments or at least a fridge with a bigger freezer… or an ice machine in the lobby(I just can’t live without ice).
