Owens John P Pediatric Cardiologist

26 + years ago my daughter was born with Transposition of the great vessels, a large hole in her heart, a hold between the bottom two chambers and the attaching cords went through the hole and attached to the other chamber, she also has a bicuspit valve instead of a tri-​cuspit (sp?) valve. She had open heart surgery at Boston Childrens Hospital (we live in No Cali) and a pacemaker implant there, then 3 more pacemakers, and 4 ICD’s after going into heart failure at the birth of her son. Dr. Owens and the whole Pediatric Cardiology group was there for us for so many years. I met him on the day she was born at Good Sam Hospital and he was excited that he knew doctors at Boston Childrens and the doctor who created the surgical procedure to make her heart anatomically correct — was there, and he did her surgery. Overall while growing up she was without meds, and healthy. I have always trusted all the doctors and staff there, they all became like family. It was so many years ago I think even Dr. Owens is retired, but I would love to catch up with him and see how he and his family are and give him the latest on my daughters health. We were mostly seen in their San Jose office, but if anyone knows how to get in contact with him. I would love to find out!

We’ve had a really excellent experience with Dr. Owen as our son’s cardiologist. If only all doctors could be so patient, attentive and have as much expertise combined! Highly recommend.
