I’d love to be able to review Marty the mobile mechanic, but I can’t because he never showed. Here was my experience: I have a Kubota tractor that needs some work. I called Marty, and he scheduled to come to my house ‘sometime after 3pm’. said that it would be $ 185. for him to drive up here and work for about 45 minutes, and then $ 135 an hour after that. Expensive, but I needed the work done, and cheaper than hauling my tractor down to Watsonville. Well, he never showed, and never called. I left him a few messages that night, and another one the next morning at around 11. I was shocked that he didn’t even call me back. He did finally call me that night at around 8pm, 30+ hours after he was supposed to be here, saying that something had come up, and he simply forgot about me… in spite of my messages and a couple of texts. He then proceeded to tell me that he also looked on the map, and wanted to raise his rate by $ 20 for the first hour and $ 20 more an hour after that because we were«further than he thought’. Takes a lot of nerve to no call/no show and THEN raise the quoted rate. I expressed my dis-pleasure at his flaking on me(I DID organize my day to be here for him!), told him I wasn’t wild about him raising his rate when he hadn’t bothered to call or show up and asked him how we should proceed to smooth out the bumps? He then said that ‘too many words had been spoken», and referred me to C&N tractors in Watsonville. Thanks a lot Marty.

I agree with the guy who said, «don’t waste your time or money.» Marty spent an hour at our business and left without solving the problem(a broken bolt lodged in a pump.” He said that it would cost us «another $ 200-$ 300 to solve the problem.» He then added that we might consider buying a new pump($ 3,000) that came with a warranty. So we called a real mechanic who removed the broken bolt in about 5 minutes. Aside from the fact that Marty was full of excuses and solved nothing, he charged us $ 30 travel. His office is 1.5 miles from our business. STAYAWAY. No talent, no conscience.

While his mechanic skills are good, he is as expensive(if not more so) than a dealer shop.

Marty is a cool guy. My car wasn’t turning over when I tried to start it and I didn’t want to pay to have it towed. He came right to me the next morning and had it going within 20 minutes and was very reasonable. Good guy, good mechanic. Highly recommended.
