Today I went in to get blond highlights done. I’ve never gone to get my hair done at a salon, and I have to say I was a little scared of change. I made an appointment with Brittany and not only did she work with me on a great price but she took care of me like I was a regular. She was very gentle with my hair and took the extra time to make my hair look great. I can’t wait to make another appointment with her. This gal is never going back to boxes or cheap hair salons!

I bought a groupon for a spray tan. The person who did the spraying took perhaps 5 minutes to spray my entire body and 5 minutes drying with a fan. So essentially it took 10 minutes for me to look like I’ve spent a week in Hawaii.
I really like the tan, however, the spraying wasn’t great. She missed the back of my ankle, my arms are uneven but you could probably buy a self-​tanner to cover the parts she missed. Or inspect yourself closely before she leaves the room and ask her to respray the parts she missed.
Overall, with a groupon, it’s OK and it’s fast.

I made an appointment for an eyebrow sugaring after looking at Unilocal reviews. I had never done it before but decided to try it. I spoke with Kelsey about scheduling my appointment and she was very friendly, funny and informative! I was running late today and the salon was very accommodating and even let me push my appointment back. Heather was my esthetician today and she was awesome! She had a great sense of humor, very down to earth and easy to talk to but very professional also. The sugaring was great! I definitely prefer it to waxing now and will definitely be back! I will probably come back to this salon for other services as well! It was very cute, clean and great location!

Heather Smith does amazing facials! I have been to her twice now for facials and both times, the results have been smooth, clear looking skin that feels great for days. I just started getting facials and would highly recommend her. The whole experience is lovely and relaxing, from the room she works in to the products she uses. She also does microdermabrasion, which I will be excited to try next time. Go check her out for your skin’s sake!

Let’s face it – It’s not easy to find someone competent and comfortable enough to do a good Brazilian! Heather Smith is both in spades! A Number One! She is excellent at sugaring!
Also, her facials are relaxing and effective. She’s an all-​around great clinician with a professional yet holistic approach to all of her procedures. I’m so fortunate to have found her, and I hope I never have to search for another aesthetician to take care of these particular tasks!

Laurie has been doing my hair for over a year now and it’s healthier than ever. She does my highlights and only cuts when totally necessary — she’s not just trying to get my money, she really cares and listens to what I want! We have been experimenting with different shades of blonde and she writes it all down so I can have a classy warmer look in the fall and a sassy lighter look in the summer. She recommends the best products and it really makes all the difference. I haven’t had a bad hair day all year. She did my extensions last July and I loved having them — everyone thought it was my real hair! Love this woman!

My weave was a straight MESS before I started seeing Laurie. Let me telllll you– being a licensed cosmetologist myself, I have tried and done everything under the sun to my poor hair! It’s actually amazing I still have some left. I started wearing extensions 10 years ago for length and fullness. I’ve had them sewn in, fused in, I’ve straight GLUED ‘em in (I know right?) and every time I went to take them out, my hair was always super damaged! It wasn’t even growing anymore. Laurie has been coloring, cutting & doing my extensions for over a year now, and it seems like my hair is healthier than it’s ever been. This is actually the first time that people are shocked when I tell them I am wearing extensions!

Laurie Davis has been cutting my hair since 2007. I followed her from her previous salon in downtown Santa Cruz and I will continue to follow her wherever she goes! She does a fantastic job and pays special attention to my layers. I love how friendly and at home she makes me feel every time she does my hair. I have never left her without feeling gorgeous! Even though I have moved from Santa Cruz recently, I still make the trip back to the Bay Area whenever possible so she can continue cutting my hair! So worth it.

Farzaneh is AWESOME! I had my hair cut, colored and highlighted by her on Saturday afternoon. It is so nice to have a hair stylist who listens to what you’d like to have done, but is also honest with you and tells you ideas and other options that end up being JUST what you were looking for! I absolutely LOVE the color of my hair, and the cut that she did was really nice — lots of pretty layers that I’m getting lots of compliments on! I highly recommend Farzaneh — I’ll definitely be back :)

I made an appointment before my wedding. I was looking for a place that did a shellac manicure and for waxing. I found Fusion via Unilocal and wow what raving reviews.
I was immediately offered the spicy bloody mary that Heather had just freshly made. Which, is a great prelude to a waxing! I saw Heather for sugaring and although it is never a pleasant experience she sure made the time go by quickly. Teresa was my manicurist/​pedicurist. She gave me a beautiful shellac and seriously made my heals the smoothest they have ever been. She informed me that she doesn’t use pumice becuase it makes your heels rough again within days. So, she uses another tool to slough off the dry skin then polish it…

This is the best salon in the county! Having worked in a salon myself, I know what is good customer service and what is BAD customer service and Fusion by far and beyond takes the cake!
I have followed Nicole from said BAD salon to this AMAZING salon! She is the best at making your face light up like a two year olds on Christmas morning! My brows have never looked better and my skin always glows when I leave :) Her Brazillians are the best I have ever had! She uses the right wax to get the job done!
Everyone there is so friendly and sometimes I find myself wanting to hang out beyond my appointment time!

Fusion salon and spa has a great atmosphere and a fun upbeat vibe (although it’s still relaxing while you’re having a treatment).
I LOVE LEAH! She is amazing with hair. Her knowlege of color and technique is amazing. She’s the first person to ever tame my wild hair with a Brazilian Blow Out. I’ve been to four stylists before and they’ve never been able to get one section smooth and straight. Leah did.
I have a lot of hair. Leah knows how to cut it so it doesn’t puff up and make me look like a mushroom. She knows I don’t blow dry my hair, so she gives me a no-​maintenance cut that looks great everyday.

This is a great salon. The inside is comfortable, cute and spotlessly clean. The staff is kind, caring and down-​to-​earth, and there isn’t any of that awesomer-​than-​thou vibe going on that I’ve experienced in other salons.
Eden does my nails. I am in love with Shellac manicures. I have been to four previous nail artists at other salons for Shellac manicures, and Eden’s have lasted the longest for me by far. Her technique is excellent, and she uses the product correctly. That’s why it lasts so long. I get about 4 weeks out of each manicure, and she’s super-​cool, sweet and fun to chat with as she works. I look forward to my visits with her.
Farzaneh does my hair, and she is very skilled — instead of fighting your hair texture with all kinds of chemical treatments, she knows how to do cuts that work with your hair type and make it look great.
All the other stylists seem to be happy here — I don’t think you can go wrong, no matter who you see.
An added bonus — sometimes they have a guy onsite that does car detailing while you are getting beautified — I don’t remember what it costs and I haven’t had it done, but I’ve heard other patrons gush over what a great job he does. Next time I’ll get it done — my car needs it but that is a different story for another time :)

I’ve been going to her for years and my hair is always top notch — I get compliments every time I leave an appointment and it’s amazing every single time whether it’s a big change like bangs or small like a slightly different color (my highlights are the definition of natural looking, but rich), she listens and works with me to make it a consistently awesome style and easy to manage on my own as it grows out.
Aside from being a great hair stylist, Farzaneh is an amazing human being. She’s fun, a compassionate listener, and gives inspiring insight. I can’t imagine seeing anyone else. Period.

I was home for the Thanksgiving weekend and I wanted to get my eyebrows waxed. The one other place I went to was booked. I called other places either they were closed for the day or too busy to answer the phone.
After some searching I rang this place to see if they could see me same day. They were able to squeeze me in for a quick waxing.
I arrived and they were great about offering me something to drink. Woot, even wine! But I opted for water. They had the Millionaire Matchmaker marathon on Bravo and I was totally ok with that. Their pedicure area looked cool.
Heather came to get me for my appt and she was very friendly. We chit chatted about the holidays and next thing I know she was done. She did a great job.
I took their services menu to see what other services they do. Looks like a great place to get quick treatments for those times I’m down visiting my family for the weekend. I’d love to come to get another waxing or get a pedicure done.
Totally affordable, friendly and they offer wine! Nice find.

After moving back to Northern California I was trying to find someone who did sugaring because I like it so much more than waxing. It’s a bit pricier, but it’s less painful and feels healthier to my skin.
Sugaring is a process where they use natural products (made out of sugar) to pull the hair with the grain versus waxing that pulls anything it sticks too (skin included) against the grain of the hair growth.
I found Heather through Unilocal and was so glad I did, she’s really nice and the closest person who does sugaring around here! Otherwise it’s make a trek up to SF where there are two locations that also sugar.
