I went there yesterday and had the spicy miso ramen. It was a disappointment, the portion was very small, the one piece of pork was tuff, and the spicy was a side of chili paste for a dollar, wow. Usually it’s chili oil and Japanese chili powder. I guess I’m spoiled. If you want to treat yourself and your on the Westside try Hokkaido Ramen Santouka it’s my favorite.

Absolutely love this place. Food is very fresh. Ramen is perfectly cooked. Very reasonable prices and friendly staff. I try to have something different off the menu on each visit and have never been disappointed.

I am happy to report they have added some hot weather friendly menu items. Tonight I tried the combo that had cold noodles with a chilled broth and grated ginger and a side dish that was labeled as mondo. Momdo is a skewered item that is usually made like a pancake but this was a thicker rectangle, of flour and veggies served with spicy mustard and some other sauces and it was very tasty. They have also added a spicy tuna dish and another cold noodle dish. I also recommend their karage(not sure if I spelled that correctly) chicken, it’s pieces of chicken fried and served with a tasty dipping sauce. I also noticed they have a lunch combo deal now

Stopped by for a late lunch today(Monday at 1:15pm). Everyone was very friendly. We ordered two different soups — miso and the one with both chicken and pork broth with all of the toppings. Our ordered arrived quick, hot and tasty. There is complimentary water and hot tea. We’ll be back again.

I’ve been waiting for a hot day to try this cold noodles called Hiyashi chuka. It was so good! It is a cold dish and every ramen shop in Japan serves it in summer. Ramen noodles on the bottom and it is topped with all kinds of toppings. Beef, chicken, cucumber and other veges, cooked eggs all cut in thin pieces. The sauce/soup is made with soy sauce, Japanese vinegar and bit of sugar. So it’s kind of sweet and sour type flavor but not too sweet. You can also add a bit of Chinese mustard to make it spicy. It will pick you up when you don’t have much appetite on a hot summer day. It’s so refreshing that I’d recommend it to anyone who loves ramen but have never tried it before. I wonder if there is any option to increase the amount of noodles… I want more!

Nice simple little ramen shop in Santa Clarita. Keeping it pretty simple with the available ramen they offer which was still pretty tasty. Ramen tasted like it was made fresh and the broth although lacking in something was still pretty good. They don’t do lunch combinations like other restaurants in the area that serve ramen, but us ok. They do have some rice bowls available, but haven’t tried it yet. Good amount of ramen noodles I can the bowl and not going overboard with the veggies in the broth. Worth a try, but don’t go when busy it’s a pretty small place with about 4 tables and 3 seats on the counter but worth the go.

I’m Japanese and this place was horrible! The noodles aren’t the real legite Japanese noodles. Even the can of Diet Pepsi was horrible. The broth was too salty and the portion is small. Like the review prior I highly recommend Sushi 661 in Canyon Country in the Stater Brothers shopping center. My second recommendation would be Mr. Sushi but ask for the spice on the side, they’re spice is really hotter than normal spice. They use a more paste like sauce. Mr. Sushi is a powder so it’s easier to control the spice. Plus Sueng(owner) @ Sushi 661 is super cool and laid-back. Mr. Sushi is more strict on sharing and charging you for leftovers.

Service: I’ve only been here once, but the waitress was amazing. It feels very«mom and pop shop» to me. Food: it was decent. Some stuff seemed like they bought it from Costco, but it was still pretty good. It was cheap, so you there’s low risk to trying it.

A neat, small ramen restaurant. I liked that they have an open kitchen, and their waitress is attentive to customers. I ordered their miso ramen and spicy tuna hand roll. Tastes great! I recommend it to future patrons. :)

Incredible disappointment. Came here about a week ago with another person. I got the Tonkotsu Shoyu ramen, which was nothing special but perfect edible. The other person got the Tonkotsu which so salty that it was inedible. I understand that pork is salty by its nature but it tasted as though the chef had added another tablespoon of the stuff into the broth. The next night we made our own using Maruchan and adding the pork, egg and so forth and it was far superior. If you want Ramen in the area I am more inclined to suggest either Mr Sushi or Sushi 661. You get a lot more, much better flavor, and a better price

Masa Ramen has some good soup. Its a tiny place, limited menu with very little seating but you’re in for a treat if you get a seat and love ramen. We tried the Tonkontsu and Miso ramen and I’d get them again on the return trip. Their ramen comes with free tea or water. We also tried the karaage fried chicken and that was wonderful, I could eat a ton of that chicken… YUM! I expect if Masa Ramen does well, they’ll move into a bigger place eventually with their own restroom. Go support a local business because they deserve it and the employees are nice and attentive. Ill be returning… Chop Chop!

I think the food here is very good. I would give it a five star, but I am kind of disappointed that they charge for a little dish of chili sauce. I really don’t care for restaurants that nickel and dime you for stuff like that. I’ve been there twice now and will probably be returning again. I’ve only eaten the Ramen so far, but a friend of mine who was with me the last time I went I have the curry and said it was very good. The last problem I have is not with the food but is with their policy that they do not except credit cards below $ 15. Just little things like that are annoying. Other restaurants in the area don’t have policies like that.

I love asian noodle dishes! Out of all of them ramen is my ultimate fave. So happy SCV has a decent ramen place!!! It is so hard to find ramen shops on par with places like in Little Tokyo. When I don’t want to make the trek out to LA this is a good substitute. It is a small cozy space but comfortable. I had the miso ramen — perfect on a cold rainy day. I enjoyed the flavor of the broth, not crazy about the wavy noodles. They were chewy and remind me of cup-noodles. The char siu was a bit fatty. Overall it was a good bowl of ramen with lots of tasty ingredients. I will try another dish next time that has straight noodles. I hope this place can make a go. This shopping area has a lot of competition for restaurants — support small businesses :)

I am so excited that we finally have a decent ramen house in the SCV. The service was terrific. I got to talk to the owners and they were personable and sweet. They even had guests trying food for their summer menu. The karaage wss very good. No nasty pieces. Served hot with a yummy dipping sauce. The ramen was very good. The broth was not too salty but a deep and intense flavor profile. All the toppings were nice and the portion was generous. Please stop by. I love to see owner operated restaurants survive.

Today, I had lunch with my daughter at Masa Ramen. It was a wonderful experience from the moment we stepped inside to the moment we left. The staff was warm and friendly. Our server even provided me with encouragement(I am a chopstick novice). The food was amazing. We both ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen. Hot(can’t stand lukewarm soup). Delicious. I promised the staff a review, I was so impressed. I can’t wait to go back!

One word: Broth! It is amazingly good. Not too fatty and not too oily it settles well that ordinarily many ramen houses don’t do it for me. I ordered the Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen($ 8.99) and the Chashu pork($ 7.99) my very first time and it continues to be my favorites. I soon returned and tried their Gyoza($ 5.99) Chicken Karage($ 3.99) and Miso Ramen($ 8.99) and my, my, my it is very good too. This can’t be?! All under one roof no way! Well, since the place is really small with a few tables and a 6 person counter seating, it’s no wonder I find the owner himself Mr. Masa cooking up some steam and wonderful noodles in his house. Hallelujah there’s a new hot spot in town. The only frown I have is that on one occasion I tried to place a pick up order to which the person on the phone said they did not accept phone orders. Understandable they are new and still getting the swing of things. The same week I come in to order take out and I see someone picking up their PHONE order. Hey, not fair what gives? Maybe I’d give the 5 stars had this inconsistency not occurred. Anyhow, I do love their food and the mom & pop owners are very nice. The staff may be a tad overwhelmed when the house is full but will give them some time to settle in to the volume of customers. They are located in a large strip mall across Peet’s Coffee and Party City.

I’ve been here twice now and I’m really glad to see a small business restaurant opening in the area as opposed to all the chain restaurants. I agree that the venue is a little too small, it’d be nice if they could add outdoor seating to increase space. As for the food, I’m not much of a ramen person since I don’t like the traditional pork broth, so I’m very thankful they have the shoyu and vegetarian options. I ordered the shoyu(forgot there was chashu/pork on it, but luckily that didn’t affect the broth). The toppings were very fresh and wonderful. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the broth was light, but flavorful. The second time I went, I wasn’t as hungry, so I tried the chicken teriyaki bowl. Delicious. The teriyaki flavor was there, yet their sauce wasn’t overbearing or sickeningly sweet like many other places I’ve tried. The chicken was very tender and the ratio of chicken to rice was generous. I just wish there were more lettuce in the bowl. From the first to the second time, it seems like the menu is expanding and I’m glad to have more options than just the ramen to try the next visit. I’ve got my eyes on the spicy tuna bowl next time. So far the prices have been incredibly affordable for generous portions.

I’ve often heard people say Japanese food is bland and tasteless. These people have obviously never been to Masa Ramen. Came here with a friend for our lunch break and we got to sit at the bar section of the restaurant. A little bit cramped especially during the lunch rush. Some outdoor seating would be great. Friend ordered the Shoyu Ramen and I the Katsu Curry. I had a sip of the ramen broth and WOW I’m in love. This was perfectly delicate, probably because it’s chicken based, yet full of hearty flavour. I’m also a fan of the added naruto, it’s like a signature touch amidst all the staples like bamboo shoots, green onion, and egg. We already decided to come back and try all the others. I opted for the Katsu Curry because it’s my go-to comfort food dish. Generous helping of curry, generous helping of rice, and several pieces of extra crispy delicious tonkatsu. Seriously, it’s a giant plate. Even came with my favourite fukujinzuke(the bright red pickled veggies on the side). Overall: I’m a definite fan! Not only can Masa Ramen nail it’s namesake but also perfect other Japanese dishes as well. Great food, great service, small area but totally worth it. I can see this being a new favourite in town.

I called in an order for pick up yesterday, a few minutes before 2pm. The lady who answered seemed a bit frazzled. It took a little work to get through placing an order, but we managed to figure it out between the two of us. Masa Ramen is located in the same shopping center home to Party City, Rubio’s, Home Goods, etc. It’s actually situated right next door to ABC Chinese Food. The inside is pretty small, maybe 4 counter seats and 2 – 4 tables. You can see the cook preparing the food and there is a soda fountain you can walk right up to. My order was ready to go when I arrived and the cashier was friendly. The server and owner I presume was just as friendly. She explained their business hours at the moment are: Mon-Fri 11:30am — 2:30pm and 4:30pm-8pm Sat & Sun 11:30am-8pm Come early next year, she plans on keeping the restaurant open all day and maybe even later. The food I ordered was good, but not great, and also a few missteps. *Tonkatsu ramen: broth was tasty, egg a little overdone, pork definitely could use some work — it was kind of tough when it normally breaks apart easily. The noodles were firm, so firm they were all bunched up. Granted, the broth was packaged separately from the noodles and all the fixings(beansprouts, corn, green onion, nori, egg, fishcake) so I let it for a few minutes to let the noodles soften. Eventually they did, but even then some noodles remained clumped together. *Fried rice: Good, tasty, a bit peppery, but overall would get it again. *Katsu curry: This was tasty and the portion was good, I just wished it was chicken rather than pork. Overall, I wasn’t AMAZED, but I will definitely check Masa again in a couple months where they’ve had a chance to work out the small kinks I encountered. Great to see a non-chain restaurant added to the area.

Like others have said, this is the best ramen so far in the SCV. Different broths. If you want less salty, get the regular Tonkotsu or the Vegetarian ramen. I LOVED the kastu curry plate. Perfect crunchy exterior. Didn’t care for the gyoza. It’s a tad bland.
