Lava or Los Angeles Volleyball Academy

New practice facility for LAVA North travel teams. First off I like it better than the former SCAC location. That place was crowded and loud with other gym members. Nice that LAVA finally got a place for their own although I seems like it may not be totally theirs exclusively.
The facility offers 2 volleyball courts and a strength training area the courts are netter and have tiled floors so that’s nice. But I wish there was more clearance on the outer edges for the players to have for safety. It’s about 2 feet to the building wall from the court lines. Also there are basketball hoops fixed at the ends of the courts which leads me to believe this is not solely a LAVA volleyball facility.
Besides the mentioned limitations of the courts, playing for LAVA is a good, competitive learning environment for girls to work on volleyball competition. Coaches are focused on teaching fundamentals on play and the club had very competitive regional tournaments. There are only a couple clubs in the area and I would say LAVA has the clear edge in performance results at the tournaments.
