I’ve tried this place out a few times. Had hot and iced latte drinks. Nothing really strikes me as good. I tried once the hazelnut latte and instead of pumps of syrup they use powdered hazelnut. Yuck I don’t like that. Valley fair has so many places to get a coffee drinks this place is not worth your money.

Fast service and awesome tea. I recently tried their passion tea and was blown away at how nicely balanced the flavor was. Usually I ask for extra sweetness but they have liquid sweetener out for you to put as much as you want. I took a quick sip to figure out how much I would need and I was pleasantly surprised that it didn’t need any at all. On numerous occasions I have purchased some kind of fruit tea where the tea overwhelmed the whole drink and it becomes too bitter(hint the extra sweetness I order). But, this was an awesome experience. Definitely going back again.

CBTL used to be my favorite coffee and tea shop when I lived in Southern California(where it originated) and Honolulu(where it opened up shops around 2006⁄07). When I saw the shop/kiosk(not sure what you call a shop built into the middle of the mall that has no doors or walls) in Valley Fair, I got really excited and nostalgic for a Café Vanilla w/soy milk(my old go-to drink). It was a Saturday late afternoon, fairly busy, but the line moved quickly. The drinks felt pretty hot when we got them, even with the extra cup sleeves. So after about 10 minutes of walking around the mall, we both finally took sips of our drinks and instantly burned our tongues(Ugh! I hate when that happens! Seriously why do they have to make them so excessively hot?). Sadly, I was even more disappointed that my ol’ fave was just not as good as I remembered… too watery, no rich flavor from the coffee, vanilla or steamed soy milk, and definitely not worth over $ 4. Sad to say that I literally said«We should’ve just gone to Starbucks.»

The place is really good but for a quick stop by for coffee it us bit so easy as it us in the mall. However if I am in the mall for lunch I certainly stop by to get my cup for the afternoon at work. The staff is friendly and quite quick at getting you in and out. Five stars for the service and selection and minus one because it is not a quick drive by.

Now I don’t have to travel crazy distances to get my fix, or order stuff on line. I just have to go through crazy parking and a flight of stairs! I ordered an iced tea(something something passion seasonal) DELICIOUS. I usually get the blended sugar free stuff– but today all I wanted was black iced tea… Boom.

Mostly only come here because I don’t want to wait in the Starbucks line. The green tea matcha latte and chai tea latte are too artificial tasting for me. I’ve always had great service and I like how the employees seem to be able to express their own styles. You’ve got your Abercrombie dude to your hipster looking chick with a septum. I feel like a hipster whenever I walk around with a coffee bean cup.

Excellent iced tea. $ 2.75 for a large and $ 1 refills. Not much of a seating area, just enough to relax and recharge.

At first I thought of Coffee Bean as an okay place for coffee and tea, but as I started to frequent this place, I think otherwise. I’ve always been a Starbucks kind-a gal so I never really venture out to a different coffee shop. I happened to be next to this place when I was at the mall so I thought I’d give this place a try. The drinks here are pretty decent for a chained coffee shop. They have the same/similar drinks as Starbucks so it’s just a nice alternative if you wanna switch it up. Now that I’ve come here more often, I really do enjoy this place and its drinks. Overall, it’s a nice alternative to your typical Starbucks drinks. They do have their speciality drinks(aka ice blended) which is a little different. The staff here is friendly and service is pretty quick. It’s a great place to stop for a drink at the mall.

Conveniently located smack dab in the middle of the VF mall The Coffee Bean is a great little caffeine stop. There are a few different coffee blends that they offer such as French roast, Brazilian, hazelnut, and more. Let’s be honest though, most people come here for the delicious chocolate and caramel ice blends which are pretty sugary, but delicious. I sometimes get a vanilla iced coffee with some pastries(try the coffee cake!)…I highly recommend the combo. They also often hold special offers and seasonal deals, so keep an eye out for them or just ask the employees who work there.

Right on the 2nd floor /middle of a busy mall. The drink comes out fast and there are PLENTY of places to sit. Tip: Make sure to buy their gift card for 25% off to save an extra 25% off the drinks.

My first time trying coffee bean! I really needed some coffee before I started shopping… Their coffee is strong and not too sweet! Which is what I like! They are way better than Starbucks! I’m so glad I tried it. I honestly couldn’t decide what to get. I got the iced caramel coffee! :)

Came by for coffee the other day while at Valley Fair and it was surprisingly decent. The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is located in the middle of the mall, next to Godiva Chocolates on the 2nd floor. The wait to order a drink was quick and easy. Staff was friendly and my hot mocha was decent, both temperature and sweetness! There are areas to sit and enjoy the coffee, if you don’t mind the noise and crowds… ~$ 3.75 for a small mocha.

I moved to the Bay Area from the L.A. area, where the Coffee Bean is more widespread. I hope they’re more successful here, because they’re totally delicious — so much better than Starbucks. This location is great if you happen to be in the mall already.

For this stand being busy so often, I was surprised that my drink wasn’t very good. I’ve frequented the company’s location in Westfield Main Place in Santa Ana several times and had good service and good coffee, even though they never seem to be so busy. The menu was difficult to read, but I ordered a blended white chocolate. The person behind the counter wasn’t particularly friendly. It didn’t take long for her to finish the drink. I was surprised about the taste. It just didn’t seem to be finished. It looked fine, but didn’t have much taste. I ended up throwing it away with quite a bit remaining.

Hazelnut latte — super sweet. What is this store trying to do give me diabetes?(Jokes) But seriously the latte is WAYTOOSWEET and full of sugar. Coffee flavor isn’t too present as it is overwhelmed by that hazelnut powder sugar

Hard to decide on which drink to try next when there’s so many delicious options! So far my favorites are chai tea latte and matcha green tea ice blended! Edit 11÷22÷15− the cookie butter latte is delicious and not too sweet!

I would choose the coffee bean and tea leaf over your average Starbucks anyday! After one taste you’ll totally understand why. The people here are so nice with explaining things to you and they are honest when you try to be adventurous and come up with some weird drink, like I asked for shots in my matcha because I was craving their matcha, but needed shots throughout the day. The cashier told me he would make it but he was sure it wouldn’t be good and offered to make another one if it ended up being not so great. It was… not the best, so he remade another one of just my regular good old hot matcha latte. The CBTL is my favorite place to get matcha lattes! They have this creamy, sweet taste that I can only relate to marshmallows which sounds strange, but I can’t think of any other way to describe it’s goodness. The only thing I did not find appealing was their croissants… they look huge and delicious! but are completelyyyyyy hollow. absolutely completely hollow LOL. BUT their other pastries are good!

My best friend lives for Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, so when she visited me from out of state, we had to make our way here. The location is a bit tough to find in the mall — and sort of bizarre, considering it’s one of the only CBs in the South Bay — but I guess it’s good for shoppers who want to hydrate and caffeinate. My friend’s blended iced chai latte was great(she was ecstatic), and I got an iced latte which was nice. Nothing special, but it’s really tough to screw one up.

Awesome crunchy round balls of ice & really strong/sweet/tasty vanilla iced lattes! If you’re debating between the hazelnut or the vanilla iced lattes, choose the vanilla! The vanilla is far superior than the hazelnut because the hazelnut is not quite hazelnut-ish enough & the vanilla one for some reason tasted stronger & more flavorful. The coffee is definitely rich. They also offer blended drinks, pastries, cups, powders you can bring home to make your own flavored coffees & teas. The lounging chairs/tables around this mall kiosk is swanky, modern, cool & comfortable. A great place for the non-shoppers to sit & grab a pick-me-up if you were dragged along to a mall trip you didn’t want to go on. I am not describing myself. I do not know what it is like to dislike shopping.

Let’s get some tea! Where shall we go? Let’s walk aimlessly around the mall… hey, coffee bean! Ice pebbles! If you’ve read my other Coffee Bean reviews, you know I love the ice pebbles. Rather than ice cubes, they’re these little pebble-like pieces of frozen water. In fact, they should probably market their drinks around that… missed marketing opportunity here! The menu is pretty good with your standard fare and a couple of special, unique items that every coffee chain tries or even small coffeehouse tries to use to stand out. I actually also really like the taste of the coffee here. Of course, I’ll gripe and say I wish they had almond milk and stevia at the creamer stand because this was the one day I forgot both. Shopping? Check. Coffee? Check, since this is conveniently located near the food court at the mall. Energy for days? Check. Maybe she’s born with it, maybe it’s may… I mean caffeine!
